Guide your queen

Third person narrator Sona closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "Lord Shaghan," she whispered, her voice trembling slightly. "Show me what happened here. She stepped to the center of the rooftop and slowly removed the silver chain from around her wrist. Holding it carefully in both hands, she closed her eyes once more. "I call upon Lord Shaghan and all the ancient guardians of my kingdom. Reveal the truth that my eyes cannot see." The wind suddenly became stronger, sweeping across the rooftop. Dark clouds gathered overhead, hiding the bright morning sun. Within seconds, the clear sky was replaced by a blanket of darkness. Sona stretched out both arms and began performing the sacred Dance of Reoccurrence, an ancient ritual known only to the royal bloodline. Every graceful movement carried centuries of tradition. Her feet moved in perfect rhythm while her lips continued chanting the sacred words. "Lord Shaghan, hear my prayer." "Reveal what has been hidden." "Guide your queen." As the final words left her lips, a circle of brilliant blue flames appeared high above the rooftop. The fire spun slowly through the air before descending toward her. Any ordinary human would have fled in terror, believing the flames would consume everything in their path. Sona remained perfectly still. She knew this fire belonged to the gods. The flames surrounded her completely. They danced around her body without burning even a strand of her hair. She reached out carefully and allowed her fingertips to touch the glowing fire. It felt surprisingly warm. Not painful. Just as she had expected. A deep voice echoed from within the flames. "Your request has been accepted." The blue fire slowly faded. In its place floated a small white mirror decorated with ancient golden carvings. The sacred Mirror of Reoccurrence. Sona smiled softly. "Thank you, Lord Shaghan." She carefully caught the mirror before it could fall to the ground and held it close to her chest. The dark clouds disappeared almost instantly. The bright morning sunlight returned as though nothing unusual had happened. Anyone passing by would never know that divine magic had just taken place. Sona tucked the mirror safely inside her handbag before making her way downstairs. As she walked through the company corridors once again, several employees glanced at her with curious expressions. Some smiled politely. Others whispered quietly among themselves. She ignored every single one of them. Right now, she had only one goal. She needed to discover what had happened to Richard's body. The moment she entered her office, she locked the door behind her and closed every window. No one could interrupt this ritual. She carefully placed the sacred mirror on the floor in the middle of the office. Then she knelt beside it. "Let your will be done," she murmured. Holding the chain once again, she slowly walked around the mirror ten times. Each circle caused the mirror to glow brighter. The brilliant white surface gradually changed into a soft brown color. A smile appeared on her face. Brown. The color of protection. It meant the gods had granted her permission to witness the past. "The mirror is ready," she whispered. She slowly looked into its surface. At first, nothing appeared. Then ripples spread across the mirror as though it had become a pool of water. The image slowly became clear. She saw herself leaving the rooftop. Richard's lifeless body remained exactly where she had left it. Five minutes passed. Nothing happened. Then another figure appeared. A middle-aged woman wearing a faded blue dress quietly stepped onto the rooftop. She cautiously looked around in every direction, making sure no one was watching. Sona frowned. She had never seen the woman before. The stranger slowly approached Richard's body. Then something unbelievable happened. A bright brown light surrounded the woman. Within seconds, her appearance completely changed. The middle-aged woman disappeared. Standing in her place was Norah. Sona's eyes widened in surprise. "Norah..." She watched in complete silence as Norah transformed into her serpent form. The large brown snake wrapped itself around Richard's body before disappearing with it in a flash of golden light. The rooftop became empty once again. The mirror slowly returned to its ordinary white color. Sona leaned back in her chair and released a long sigh of relief. "So it was you." A warm smile spread across her face. Norah had protected her once again without asking for recognition. She had removed every piece of evidence before anyone could discover it. "No wonder Lord Shaghan chose you to protect me," Sona whispered gratefully. For the first time since morning, she finally felt herself relax. At least one problem had been solved. She carefully picked up the mirror and returned it to her handbag. Then she gathered the files she had prepared for Dev. Only then did she remember something. Her eyes widened. "The meeting." She looked at the clock hanging on the office wall. Thirty minutes had already passed. "Oh no." Dev had instructed her to report to his office in ten minutes. She was now twenty minutes late. Knowing his temper, he was probably furious. Taking one final deep breath, Sona straightened her clothes, picked up the documents, and walked toward the executive offices. She stopped outside Dev's office and gently knocked on the door. "Come in." His calm voice reached her ears. She slowly opened the door and stepped inside. Dev was seated behind his desk, completely focused on his laptop. His fingers moved effortlessly across the keyboard. He didn't even look up when she entered. "Take a seat," he said. Sona quietly sat in the chair opposite him. For several moments, silence filled the room. Only the sound of typing could be heard. She found herself studying him without realizing it. His face looked calm. Too calm. There wasn't even a hint of anger for someone who had been kept waiting for half an hour. Something about that unsettled her. Finally, he closed the laptop and looked directly at her. "Are you okay?" The question caught her completely off guard. Again. Why did he keep asking the same thing? Did she really look that disturbed? Or had he noticed something no one else had? She quickly forced a smile. "I'm fine." His sharp eyes remained fixed on her for another moment, as though trying to determine whether she was telling the truth. Then, without another word, she placed the files on his desk. "I've completed the new sales strategies," she said. "These include projections for the next quarter and the revised marketing plan. If everything goes according to schedule, our sales should continue increasing." Dev picked up the documents and began reading them carefully. Sona remained seated, waiting for his response. She couldn't shake the strange feeling that this meeting wasn't really about work. It felt as though he wanted something else. Something he hadn't said yet. And for reasons she couldn't explain, that thought made her even more nervous than facing any enemy from her past.
