His True nature

THIRD PERSON NARRATOR Sona stood frozen as memories flooded back into her mind one after another. The moment Richard grabbed her wrist, it was as if an invisible seal had been broken. Images from millions of years ago flashed before her eyes with perfect clarity. She remembered him. Not just as Richard. She remembered the man he had been before reincarnation. The man who had smiled innocently while secretly plotting against her. The man who had pretended to be loyal while working alongside those who destroyed everything she loved. Her breathing became heavier with every passing second. "How dare you touch me like that?" Sona demanded as she slowly turned around to face him. Her blue eyes gradually began changing. Red streaks spread through the bright blue until they glowed with an unnatural mixture of blue and crimson. Every painful memory returned. Her banishment. The destruction of her kingdom. The betrayal of those she trusted. The death of her parents. Everything came rushing back. Richard instinctively stepped backward. His entire body trembled under the intensity of her stare. "You..." Sona whispered through clenched teeth. "You are one of the people responsible for everything that happened to me." Tears of rage gathered in her eyes. "You deserve to pay for your betrayal." Her voice echoed across the rooftop. The magical energy inside her body became impossible to control. She tried desperately to suppress her true form. Not here. Not on top of the company building. Someone could see her. Someone could expose her. She fought with everything she had, but the power inside her was stronger than her own will. Within seconds, green light surrounded her body. The air around them became heavy. A powerful hiss filled the rooftop. Richard watched in complete horror as Sona's human body disappeared. Standing before him was a gigantic serpent. Her emerald scales reflected the morning sunlight. Her glowing blue and red eyes burned with fury. Her enormous body towered over him, making him feel as small as an insect. Richard had always known she was a serpent. He had seen the video. But he had never imagined her true form would be this enormous. Or this terrifying. His legs became weak. For the first time in years, Richard truly felt fear. The Queen Serpent slowly lowered her massive head until it was level with his face. She stared directly into his eyes. Then she began circling around him. Once. Twice. Three times. Finally, her enormous body wrapped itself around him. Richard gasped as the pressure tightened around his ribs. Every breath became painful. His heart pounded violently. He struggled to move, but it was useless. He was completely trapped. "Do you remember everything you did to me?" Sona hissed. Her grip tightened. Richard cried out in pain. "I... I can't breathe..." Sona showed no mercy. "You never showed me mercy." Another squeeze. His face slowly turned pale. "I begged for mercy." "You watched me lose everything." "You stood beside those who betrayed my kingdom." "You watched my suffering." "And today..." She lowered her head closer to his face. "...you will experience even a small portion of my pain." Richard continued struggling helplessly. No matter how hard he fought, he could not free himself. The Serpent Queen had become far stronger after the initiation ceremony. Escaping her was impossible. The kind-hearted princess she had once been no longer existed. Pain..... Loss..... And betrayal.... Had transformed her into someone completely different. Flashback After the Red Serpents seized control of the Serpent Kingdom, Sona had nowhere left to run. The kingdom that had once celebrated her as its future queen had turned its back on her. She had lost her throne. Her title. Most of her powers. Even her own people believed she had become their greatest disgrace. There was only one place left where she believed she could still find comfort. Earth. Patel. The man she loved with all her heart. Using the little magic she still possessed, Sona secretly opened a portal leading back to the human world. The journey drained nearly all the strength she had left. By the time she arrived, she could barely stand. Still, She smiled. Patel was waiting for her. Surely he would help her. Surely the gods would understand why she had returned. If she could somehow recover the Snake Charm, she would regain all her powers. She could reclaim her kingdom. She could defeat the Red Serpents. And finally avenge her parents. Filled with renewed hope, she hurried toward Patel's house. A few streets before reaching the house, she used the last remaining traces of her magic. Her serpent form disappeared. Human clothes replaced her royal garments. Anyone looking at her would see nothing more than an ordinary young woman. The magical snake clone she had left behind had already completed its task. Earlier, she had secretly instructed it to cover for her absence until she returned. Taking a deep breath, Sona walked into the house. The moment she entered, Patel rushed toward her with a bright smile. "Honey, welcome back from the market." He wrapped his arms around her affectionately. For a brief moment, Sona almost forgot every hardship she had endured. Then reality struck. Market? She had never gone to the market. The snake clone must have created that excuse before disappearing. She quickly forced herself to smile. Patel looked behind her. His smile faded. "Where are the groceries?" Sona's heartbeat quickened. She had nothing. No vegetables. No fruit. Nothing at all. "Oh..." she replied nervously. "I forgot my umbrella, and it looks like it's about to rain." Patel laughed softly. "I'll get it for you." Without another word, he walked toward the bedroom. The moment he disappeared, panic spread across Sona's face. She had no money. Not a single coin. Normally she could have created money with magic. But nearly all her powers had already been stripped away. She closed her eyes. "Lord Shaghan..." She clasped her hands together. "Please help me." "This is the only chance I have." "If Patel discovers who I truly am before I recover my powers..." She couldn't even finish the sentence. Everything would be over. Moments later, Patel returned carrying the umbrella. "There you go, darling." Sona forced another smile before accepting it. "Thank you." She stepped outside once again. Every step toward the market felt heavier than the last. She had no idea what she would do once she arrived. How could she buy anything without money? Still... She kept walking. “Lord Shaghan," she whispered again. “Please don't abandon me." “I have already lost my kingdom." “I have already lost my family." “I cannot lose this chance as well." She continued praying until she finally reached the busy marketplace. People moved from one stall to another. Merchants shouted, advertising their products. Children laughed as they ran through the crowded streets. Sona stood there completely helpless. She had absolutely nothing. Yet somehow, She had to return home carrying groceries. Otherwise Patel would become suspicious. She slowly approached one vegetable stall. Before she could even speak, the elderly woman selling vegetables smiled warmly. "Here you are, miss." The woman packed fresh vegetables into a basket before handing it to Sona. Then. She placed several coins into Sona's hand. "And this is your change." Sona stared at the money in complete disbelief. She had never paid. She had never even chosen any vegetables. Yet everything had already been prepared for her. Tears slowly filled her eyes. Lord Shaghan had answered her prayer. Even after she had been falsely banished. Even after losing everything... The gods had not abandoned her. They were still watching over her. They were still protecting the future Queen of Serpents. Holding the basket tightly against her chest, Sona looked toward the heavens. A small smile appeared on her face. One day. She would reclaim everything that had been stolen from her. And on that day... Every traitor would answer for their crimes. I actually think this flashback is one of the strongest parts of your novel because it shows that Sona wasn't always driven by revenge. It makes readers sympathize with her before revealing how she became the feared Queen Serpent.
