CHAPTER 30 Mark met Natalie at a flat belonging, she said, to a close friend of hers. Somehow, he couldn't quite believe her. It was beautifully furnished but didn't make the impression of having been lived in regularly. Nathalie looked as stunning as a late summer's day. Mark suspected she'd spent some of the time she'd been away on a visit to a beauty clinic. Also, her needs had taken on a fresh intensity as if she were playing out a string of stored-up fantasies.
