Alice's brothers helped her move her three pieces of luggage inside the boot of the car. And they bid her farewell. As the car moved, Alice told the driver to stop and wait for her a bit. While the car was waiting Alice came down immediately, rushed back inside, and hugged her mum, dad, and her two brothers. Looking at her dad who was trying not to tear up. She said to him "Dad please cheer up, I will make sure not to disappoint you and Mum. I will always call to check up on you and everybody OK? Just promise to hang on OK?. After saying this they bid a final farewell and Alice rushed back outside to enter the car. Watching her family outside waving at her as the car zoomed off tore her heart. Most especially her mum. How will she cope with making money and taking care of her disabled dad and two little brothers all by herself? At least I helped out if I was there. "God help her," Alice said a word of prayer and tried to stop worrying. As they drove past her neighborhood, kids, grannies, young boys and girls, and everybody who knew Alice waved at her as she passed by. Not knowing that she was moving completely. Trying hard to not cry again, Jane took out her old model iPhone to take videos and pictures of the cities they passed. Alice has never left the city of Yorkshire since she was eight so she barely remembered anything and anywhere. After six hours, they finally arrived in the city of Manchester. "Oh my God this is a very big and beautiful city," Alice thought aloud in her head looking around. Alice was called back to reality when the driver asked her for the actual address. "Oh let me get it from my phone," Alice said as she started looking for her phone in her faded Gucci handbag. "It's dead"? Alice said as tried to put the phone on to no avail. After several trials, Alice became greatly irritated. How can her phone leave her in the middle of nowhere? "And I don't even know her number in my head. So how do I contact her for the address"? Alice asks in a sad tone, turning to the driver for help. The driver after several suggestions said to Alice "What if we try my car charger but I haven't used it in a long time. Hearing this from the driver sounded like hope, Alice's face lit up immediately as she sat up in a flash and hurriedly gave her phone to the driver asking him to try it out. It was already getting dark too and she didn't know anywhere in the streets of Manchester. "Jane must be worried about me right now," Alice said, plugging and unplugging the charger hoping the tiniest life would come into her phone. After several trials, the phone vibrated and with a beep, it started booting on. The sound of the phone booting on was like the sound of victory for Alice. A few minutes later she unplugged and searched for the message that Jane sent to her earlier. When she saw it she gave it to the driver and they resumed their journey. After some miles, they arrived at their destination. So she picked up her phone and dialed Jane's number. "Hello Jane, a girl my phone died off that's why I delayed but I am at the address you gave me". "Oh my God! Alice, I became worried sick about you. I was even about to file a missing person just now. I am on my way right now to you"! Jane said in a sad tone as she started driving back to Alice from the police station. Hearing this Alice burst out laughing. "So sorry darling I didn't know my phone was almost down. I would have given the address to the driver earlier". After the phone call, the driver brought down Alice's luggage, took his payment, and left. Alice waited at the bus stand for thirty minutes before she saw Jane drive up to her. "Girl, you never told me you got a car? Wow! Alice said, looking at the clean saloon car packed in her face. "I forgot to tell you, girl come on let's get out of here before it gets super dark," Jane said, hopping out of the car to help Alice get her luggage inside the car. After some miles, Jane took a turn to the fueling station to get some fuel. "To be honest Alice I didn't know your parents would agree to let you move," Jane told Alice while putting on her seat belt to continue driving home. "Oh about that? Your girl is grown now" Alice said looking at her friend with a cheesy smile. After a few poles, they arrived at John Dalton Street in Manchester by 7 p.m. "I live on the first floor," Jane said as she turned off the Engine and they both alighted from the car. "That's even better," Alice replied happily, picking up her suitcase. "This place is nothing like Yorkshire. I feel comfortable and happy already" Alice added while waiting for Jane to unlock her door. "You will surely like it even more as you stay". Jane replied feeling happy that her friend loved the idea of moving. "Come on in" she added as she unlocked the door and walked inside. "Wow, your apartment is huge and very beautiful. Do you surely live alone in all this? Alice asked while looking with mouth wide open. "And that's why I invited you to come over and stay with me because I would always get bored and sleep all day on weekends" Jane answered while closing the door behind her at the last luggage. "Besides, I broke up with my boyfriend recently so I feel super lonely these days. Also, I missed your food so much, my favorite chef". Jane added with a smile looking at her best friend. "You are funny Jane"! Alice answered back with a chuckle "But why did you break up with Desmond? I am so sorry I am only hearing it now girlfriend" Alice asked her in a curious and sad tone. "Girl that's a story for another day but I will surely tell you, in the meantime come let me show you your room so you can freshen up too because I know you are tired too"! Jane answers Alice and immediately starts heading to the opposite door next to her room. Alice followed her immediately with the rest of her suitcase. They entered the room that looked like a princess room with a large bathroom and dresser by the side. There was no other word to explain Alice's facial expressions than total excitement, joy, and satisfaction. "This is more than what I expected, girl, thank you so much"! Alice immediately spoke up with balls of tears slowly forming in her eyes. In her thinking this room sure doesn't match her in any way. Jane Immediately cut in " Come on girl it's nothing! You will soon have all this too when you start working here too. The pay is very good here I assure you"! Looking at her phone Jane became surprised at how late they were for dinner. So she showed Alice how to properly use the bathroom and left to get ready the meals she already prepared. While Alice was freshening up, Jane took her time to dish out so many kinds of food on the table as she didn't know what her friend would like. "Alice, food is ready, so don't let it go cold again"! Jane's voice echoed from the kitchen calling on Alice
