I once dreamed of a simple, meaningful life—to be a successful man, a loving husband, and a proud father. A man who could stand tall and provide with dignity.

But life had other plans.

No matter how hard I worked, survival was always just out of reach. Teaching. Security jobs. Endless effort, yet never enough. Each day felt like a battle I was slowly losing. And beneath it all were silent struggles—personal battles that shook my confidence and threatened the future I once believed in.

I began to lose more than just opportunities… I began to lose hope.

But she stayed.

Patience.

My wife. My strength. My reason to keep going.

Married at just 20, while I was 28, she chose me—not just in the good moments, but in the darkest ones. When life stripped me of almost everything, she refused to walk away.

This is not just a story of hardship.

It is a story of love that refuses to break…

Of loyalty that stands firm in the storm…

Of two people choosing each other when everything else falls apart.

This is the story of how I lost almost everything… except her.

Episode 1: The Day I Saw Her
It was a quiet Saturday morning. I was walking with Abraham, heading to his house, talking about nothing important. Then… I saw her. My steps slowed. My heart skipped. Everything around me suddenly felt distant. She stood there, gently touching the grass, unaware of my presence. Calm. Simple. Yet… different. Something hit me deep inside. “Abraham…” I said quietly. He turned to me. “What?” I didn’t take my eyes off her. “I think… I’ve just seen my wife.” He burst into laughter. “Guy, you don start again!” But I wasn’t joking. Not this time. We got to his room, but I couldn’t sit still. My leg kept shaking. My mind… was not there. It was with her. “Guy, wetindey worry you?” Abraham asked. I stood up immediately. “I forgot something at home.” Without waiting for his reply, I left. As I walked back… My heart began to race again. Because she was still there. Standing. Quiet. Beautiful. I walked closer. “Good morning,” I said. She looked up. And smiled. That smile… It did something to me. “My name is Anyebe Tony Anyebe,” I said. “The first son of the primary school headmaster.” She nodded softly. “I’m Patience Ichapi.” A pause. “My father is Attah Ichapi. We live in Abuja.” The moment I heard that name… Everything changed. My expression froze. I knew that family. Too well. I stepped back slightly. She didn’t notice. She was still gently touching the grass. But my mind was already far away. As I walked home, a memory hit me. A dream. A dream I had back in school… at the University of Agriculture, Makurdi. I was in 400 level then. I had seen a life. A wife. A family. A future. And now… Standing in front of me just moments ago… Was a girl named Patience. Was this coincidence… Or was this destiny?
