She cuts me off with her hands flailing all over the place telling me to shut up and listen, a small You're-An-i***t smirk dePetonting her face.
"Varnika, dude, calm down, everybody's fine. No one got their face shot down the Lily. The guy walked off with a little over three-hundred bucks though because the cops were late." She lets out a humorless chuckle.
"Why are you laughing that's not funny. Someone could've been hurt, Jannat. You never know, I was just a little worried," It's not like I was thinking about specific people. My cheeks start to turn a light shade of red from embarrassment. Looking across the hall acting like I was interested in something to avoid her mocking gaze doesn't save me. I know she's giving me an accusing stare and the eyes that are gazing.
"Right," She claimed, rolling her eyes and the sarcasm showing in her tone of voice.
"It's pretty dumb how the police are so slow and can't get their job done. They need someone in every area of the city so that they can get there faster and stop the people or something." Just change the subject, Varnika. Just change the stinkin' subject.
