The rain went on all night, so we ended up staying there until morning. Ransom woke first, and by the time I opened my eyes, he was freshly showered and dressed.
“What time is it?” I asked groggily.
“Still early, but later than I wanted it to be. We need to get going before Jordan shows back up here. You’ve got time for a shower and a cup of coffee, then we need to hit the road.”
The mention of Jordan’s name cleared the fog from my head. I climbed out of bed, grabbed a change of clothes, and hit the shower. True to his word, Ransom had a steaming cup of coffee waiting for me.
