As a human, I would say that the supernaturals are non-physical entities that often defy the physical laws of nature. Many humans would have never believed that such creatures existed but as children, they were the monsters who lived underneath our beds, a core part of our nightmares and an important subject of our beliefs. Many adults around us saw them as superstitions, but then, who are we to argue with them? For humans will always provide a logical explanation for everything that they do not understand simply because it scares them. This also explains why many refuse to believe the existence of the supreme being who created all things - including spirits and humans, angels and demons, living and dead. I, as the daughter of the King Reuben of Ascarisa, was less concerned about all these, afterall, I was only a female who would end up in the arms of a Prince whom I do not love, simply for my family and kingdom's happiness. This was how it was until that war, the one that still haunted me in my dreams broke out.
Millions of years ago, the supreme being named God, who created everything in the universe heard from one of his most trusted angels that the beings which He had created were planning to go against him....their leader being Lucifer. God loved all the creatures He had made but could not stand their disloyalty. Hence, he made a decision which came a shock to all who resided in Heaven. He had decided to cast them out of Heaven and seize their wings-- they became demons, spirits and other fearful creatures of the night.
Many of the supernaturals who faced this fate decided to reside on a place called Earth, where God had put the last thing he created - Man. They each picked a place as their territory, with some living on earth among the clueless humans or in deep, secluded forests some living within the firmaments, some residing underwater and some even resided in the underworld. It just turned out that the witches and demons whom did not like each other one bit, both lived on the Earth.
An agreement was made for them never to cross paths in order to avoid trouble. However, the King of Demons, Lucifer, had an unfortunate thought dropped into his mind because of his unquenchable hunger and thirst for power and revenge. He wanted to get revenge on God for throwing him aside, even though he had clearly deserved it. Spreading sin among men was not enough for him, he wanted something more. A larger kingdom, one where he also ruled over everything that God created. And to do that, he had to eliminate the witches.
The witches always acted like they did everything was for the interest of the humans on earth and that they were chosen to protect them, since they were almost like humans except for the fact that they possessed magical powers. Hence, they would never let Lucifer's plans of ruling over the entire earth become possible as they knew of his dark and evil ways of luring people into sin through deception and manipulation. Thus, he decided to sneak his way into a very powerful female witch's heart in order to steal all her powers to anger the witches to make an irrational decision of coming to seek revenge on him in his own territory.
It was quite difficult for him, but the art of deception was the devil's specialty afterall. He snuck into her dreams every night and bypassed every spell or barrier that she placed on herself. Each dream left her wanting more of him. He made her believe that they were mates. When he was sure the time was right, he revealed himself to her and every night he would visit Kolynx, daughter of Azrenia, who was a prominent member of the witches council and they would talk for a long time under the bright moonlight.
Kolynx's reluctant love for Lucifer grew stronger with each passing minute. It was said that whatever you don't want to have a relationship with, distance yourself from it. Unfortunately, Kolynx did the opposite. However, Kolynx was already married to a very powerful witch named Elias who was the leader of the witches council at that time. Elias never knew about Lucifer's visits because he always away most of the time as the leader of the all the witch covens. She told Lucifer about her marriage one night, but then, he was Lucifer, of course he already knew about her marriage from the start.
"Come with me to my Kingdom, and you can rule with me as my queen. Then, you won't just be the queen of my heart but the queen of my entire kingdom, everything I own." Lucifer suggested with a pleasant look on his face.
"Your people will never accept me Azazel. Elias will be coming back soon. This is where it ends. I can't continue like this. My mother might find out about us and if she does, she won't hesitate locking me in the dungeon for being a traitor and being unfaithful to my husband." Kolynx replied, her facial expression revealing a distant smile as her gown danced in the wind.
As she prepared to teleport back to her home, she heard the voice which she had now come to love.
"And what if I say I will elope with you. "
"Then I won't believe you and besides, I am sorry Azazel, but I am pregnant. I am quite sure it is Elias' child. I won't want to endanger the life of my baby. It's the reason I have been concealing it." She said, revealing the true size of her stomach.
"But I mean it. I would anything for you Lynx, you are my mate. The one who holds my other half. I don't mind taking the child as my own as long as it comes from you. I love you Lynx and I would definitely go against the whole world for you without batting an eyelid."
"Then prove it"
"Have this amulet. An ancient witch I had a deal with in the past made it to make sure that I was going to fulfill my promise to her. Say whatever you want to happen to me to it and your wish is my command."
"Oh really, let's test it. I want Azazel, my beloved mate to kneel before me." She commanded, knowing the devil would never kneel before anyone.
His eyes suddenly turned blank and as she said, just like a puppet, he obeyed falling onto his knees before Kolynx.
His eyes returned back to their black colour and he asked still on his knees, "Do you believe me now?"
"I have always and will always believe you Lucifer."
"Shall we go my love?"
"Of course."
And this amulet bore the start of the war between the witches and the demons.
