What would you do when your husband of a year woke up from a coma but had no memories of you alone?

Elvina found herself in such a situation. The Alpha King, her mate, who was once a beast and a nightwalker, woke up from a coma but had no memories of them.

She is divorced and is ready to leave the palace. But one thing baffles her. Why is she the only one the Alpha King doesn't recall?

Was he truly having amnesia, or was he indirectly kicking her out of his life after she healed him from his beastly form?

Chapter1
Elvina. Today was my first anniversary as the Alpha King's Luna, but he was still in a coma. I didn't know how to celebrate it when the one I had spent my days with wasn't with me. He had promised to take me around and spend his money on me on this day, only for him to get into an accident six months ago. I was dressing up to go back to the hospital where he was. That has been my role for six months now. I took care of the pack alone because that was what I promised him while he was bleeding from the head and laid on a hospital stretcher. “My Luna!” The maid who had been applying my makeup returned. I had told her to remind the driver that I was almost done so he wouldn't keep me waiting. “I told him, and he's now waiting for you.” I nodded and pouted my lips to envision how the lipstick looked on my lips. I was set to leave so I won't be late. Luna Dowager, the Alpha’s mother, was there, and she would return to the palace once I reached the hospital. The maid strolled with me out of the palace building to the car, and then she bid me goodbye. Since the accident that almost took the Alpha King's life, the palace has been dry—and boring too. Even the servants find it difficult to smile because their master isn't around the corner. “My Luna, would you return here today or stay till tomorrow? I have to schedule my day.” the driver, one of the palace guards said to me. I rolled my eyes. It would be better to return tomorrow and get ready again. “It will be tomorrow.” He nodded and kicked off from the palace. Minutes later, we were at the pack's general hospital where the Alpha King was admitted. I went into the building and straight to the ward where he was. When I opened the door, the scene before me made me lose grip of my handbag, and it fell to the floor. “Alpha King!!!” I screamed, eyes widened. I ran towards the bed to embrace him, but he pushed me away. What was that for? Is he still not feeling well? Wait! He had woken up from a coma after six months? Isn't that a miracle? I found myself smiling. This was what I had prayed for. “Alpha Nikolai—” I mentioned, coming closer to him again, but his facial expression wasn't what I expected. Wasn't he supposed to be happy that he woke up to meet his Luna again? I turned to Luna Dowager and smiled. “How long has he been awake that you didn't even call me to tell me?” She smirked and faced his son again. “Why should I call you when my son doesn't remember anything about you?” A cold pit formed in my belly. Was that a joke? What does he mean by the Alpha King not having any memories of me? I turned to him. The way he glared at me like I was some rival. How come he recalled his mother but didn't recall me? Was that supposed to be possible? I shook my head. No way! Alpha Nikolai can't lose memories of us that way. I tried to touch him, but he flung his hand into the air, and it almost hit me. “Mum, who did you say she is? This is annoying me, seriously.” he shrieked, and his mother gave me a long, hard look. This isn't some joke. Alpha Nikolai had no memories of me. A gulp. I sighed deeply. “Look, I am Elvina, your Luna. We've been married for a year now, and today is our first anniversary." I explained, my fingers pointing at my chest. He shook his head and hissed aloud. “I don't have a Luna named Elvina. The name of my Luna is Alina.” his eyes widened as he talked back to me. My feet froze to the floor. Alina? Who was that? I've never heard of that name since I came into the palace. I turned to Luna Dowager, “Luna, who is Alina?” She tucked her hair behind her ears. “Well, Alina is the chosen Luna of the Pack.” I felt a lump in my throat. The chosen Luna of the Pack? Then what am I? A trash? “So, wasn't I the chosen Luna? I mean…..” “You weren't!” She cut me short rudely. “There's no way an omega like you will be the chosen Luna of the Pack. Alina was the one supposed to be Luna, but you spellbound my son to choose you instead.” I shook my head. “I don't get what you're talking about. Alpha never told me that he had a fiancée. I didn't spellbound him. He offered marriage by himself." I bit my lower lip. This annoyed me so much. How can they just bring up somebody I don't know about and call her the chosen Luna? “If Alina was the chosen one, why then didn't you work against me getting married to your son? Rather, you accepted me voluntarily.” “Who knows if I was also under your spell.” She supported her chin with her fist. “Elvina, I think your duty as Luna ends today. Alina will be crowned once the Alpha King returns to the palace.” “I won't let that happen!” My jaw tensed. “How can you two do this?” “I don't know you…” came the snappy voice of the Alpha King. I turned to face him, and the memories of how we met came descending into my brain. That night, when I sat under the oak tree, almost asleep, I felt his touch on my chin. When I opened my eyes, I jolted from the floor to see a beast before me. He was the Alpha Nightwalker. The pack members didn't know what he looked like, and that was my first day seeing him. He sat down on the floor and ordered me to sit. Out of fear, I sat down with him. Surprisingly, he proposed marriage to me because we were mates, and I accepted without hesitation since my brother was hospitalized and he had promised to take care of him until he was fine…which he did. Two months after our secret coronation, the Alpha King was healed from his beastly form. At that time, everyone came to know what he looked like after twenty years as a beast. He was a charming King, admired by all, and I was so happy to have him as my husband and mate. Four months later, after his healing, he got into an accident that put him in a coma, and now that he is awake after another six months, he lost all memories of just me. My mate doesn't know me any longer—not even as a mate or Luna. He looked at me with so much hatred, and that was the last thing I imagined to happen. His mother who cherished me denied me now and is about to replace me with a woman I didn't know existed. Who was this Alina of a lady to the Alpha King before we got married? Were they dating or broke up? Was he cheating on me with Alina? Luna Dowager stood from the chair she had been seated on and approached the table where she brought out a file and handed it to me. “This is a divorce file. My son had already signed it…so, make sure to sign it here and now so I can finalize it to the end.” My lips trembled. I wanted to bash at her but couldn't. I wished to talk senses to Alpha Nikolai, but it would be a waste of time. I looked at the file before me and took it from her, tears battled in my eyes. “Sign it and leave the palace before tomorrow morning.” Alpha Nikolai added. This should better be a dream.
