Chapter 2 – Meeting the Yandere
* * *
“Good morning, Sweetheart. Time to get up or you will be late for school.”
I woke up after being welcomed by a sweet voice. Not that it was my first time hearing it, but a crease immediately formed on my forehead as I looked at the source of that sound. Just in time after that dream of mine.
Standing right before my bed is my childhood friend, Daisy, a year younger than me. Her beautiful smile made me frown like an old man. We are both in senior high, but the differences in our expressions made it look like we are a decade apart.
“Stop trespassing in my house. We are already old enough for this, Daisy…”
The smile on Daisy’s face did not fade even a bit. Furthermore, she playfully jumped into my bed, directly sitting on my thigh. I felt like all my muscles tightened as this audacious woman smiled even brighter on top of me. She had always been so clingy since we were young to the point that people started thinking that we were an item.
Well, not in my wildest dreams. There is no way that I could romantically see her.
Daisy is just a friend to me. More like a sister if I were to consider how she almost lives in our house despite the fact that we are only long-term neighbors. No matter how, I can’t see myself kissing and hugging a girl who grew up with me. It felt like I was turning into a man who committed the worst sin in the entire world.
However, that doesn’t stop Daisy from pursuing me for an unknown reason. She is adamant about starting something with me and I could only be disgusted at that fact.
Moreover, this woman has no shame at all. From my thigh, I could tell that she deliberately moved to where my sensitive part was. Her subtle movement awakened the sleeping dragon that was happily sleeping inside my boxer shorts.
Damn it. She is just seventeen – a girl on the boundary of adulthood. I wanted to cast it away from my mind but the bulge on the blanket wouldn’t be able to hide my excited part. I can’t see it, but I’m sure that my face had turned red after that realization.
The smirk on Daisy’s face busted the hell out of me, completely removing any of the little pride I had in my body.
“…Enough!”
Out of embarrassment and desperation, I tossed Daisy out of the bed, letting her face meet the floor. I somehow felt guilty at the harshness of my action, but the harm had been done and there is nothing that I can do about it now that there are tears in Daisy’s eyes. She needs to learn her lesson anyway.
Being soft wouldn’t break her old habits. If I need to be harsh then I would be more than willing to be hard and harsh when it comes to her.
“You don’t have to be harsh, Dane. It would be for the best if you would just accept that you love me as well.”
A thousand chill was sent to my entirety as Daisy said those words. She flashed the usual sweet smile on her face as she wiped the tears off her eyes. Somehow, I found myself pitying her and immediately regretting the words I’ve spoken. Even so, I did not dare to utter any comforting words to her.
My silence sent Daisy out of my room, still smiling like a fool, while I was frowning with all my might. I did not dwell much on what happened between us and instead went on my schedule.
Daisy is the least of my problems, especially now that I have a lot of exams to take and a future to mold. Being an eighteen-year-old teen brings a lot more weight compared to a child like her.
As usual, I silently dressed myself and went down to start my day. Daisy obviously stepped out of the house with me as we walked to our school. Her smile, still beautifully flashed on her face, attracted more than enough attention to ruin my morning. These people, or more like men, should have known better how big of a headache Daisy could be.
She is young, yes. Pretty, absolutely. With magnificent curves that no one would be able to deny, but her brain is filled with nothing but love and the idea of being my wife.
She might appear as an angel clothed in human garments, but my years of interaction with her could easily say that she is more than that.
Daisy is the most terrifying woman that Heaven could ever mold into a human. She appeared sweet and acted the same, but her temperament was far from that. Daisy has a long patience towards everything except for one thing. She believes that we are bound to be and that no one should come between us.
“Good morning, Dane.”
Oh, geez. Jinx. Jinx. Truly a jinx. I was just thinking about it when another voracious woman intercepted us at the school gate. Hope Cook, one of my classmates, shamelessly clung her arms to mine. She then gave Daisy a naughty look, triggering a sense of paranoia within me.
“Ms. Cook. We are on the school premises. Please mind your manners and stop acting like a dog in heat.”
I almost slapped my forehead after hearing Daisy’s remarks. It has been a while since she started a feud with Hope and other women, making it a daily occurrence for them to batter like this. I don’t want any part in their shenanigans, but the fact that Hope’s arms are still linked to mine made me unable to step away from them.
“Oh, come on, Daisy. I don’t want to hear from a tick that kept on sucking Dane’s youth. Grow up and find another man, please. It was so obvious that he was not interested in you.”
I dared not look at Daisy’s expression after Hope’s taunting. Not because I did not care for her, but because of the ominous aura coming her way. There is a foreboding sense that makes me sweat like I run the longest road in the world.
Trouble. Trouble. Tsk.
“You can say whatever you want to say but my love for Dane will always be real. I have loved him before I learned the difference between a man and a woman. Your stinky underarm wouldn’t be able to come between us.”
Our presence had long gathered a large group of people, and everyone couldn’t help but gasp at Daisy’s confession. Some made ridiculous comments while others giggled at the craziness of the youth before them. Some boys did not hide their contempt at the “luck” of having two beautiful women fight over me.
Well, they can take my place as much as they want.
It’s not every day that a drama unfolds within the school grounds and witnessing it on hand is just a memory of youth to hold. Needless to say, I never planned to be involved in this kind of act. I have a scholar to maintain, and these two women are not helping me at all.
“Let’s talk somewhere else. You still don’t know the weight of being an adult so you might not understand this but people my age need to maintain our dignity. Let’s go.”
Daisy scowled like a child upon hearing Hope’s statement. There is no denying that Hope was affected by Daisy’s retort, pushing her to drag the woman away from the crowd, somehow saving herself from further embarrassment.
Before we knew it, the two vanished right in front of us, but my brotherly soul toward Daisy made my legs move forward in their direction.
There is no way that I will let my childhood friend commit the sin of killing another student – in broad daylight at that.
