Chapter 14

"Those are really nice flowers. I wish I could take some back,” I said.

“Of course you can. Take as many as you want. We grow a lot of them here,” Wendy replied.

"I can't. You wouldn't understand even if I told you,” I said.

“It's complicated,” I added.

"Complicated you say? Try me,” Wendy chuckled.

"Okay, If you say so,” I replied.

"Well, before we do any talking, let's get to my place first. I have so many things to show you. We can also seat and talk. You like tea,” Wendy asked in hospitable manner.

"Why yes, I do. Let's go there right away,” I said with a grin.

Wendy showed me a lot of beautiful places in and around the safe haven. I was amazed by the things I saw and began to get that homely feeling. It was one I couldn't get rid of that easily. I was forced to take a walk down memory lane as I remembered when my parents were alive and how lovely life was back then.

I enjoyed every moment of the walk down there. When we got to the house, it was a fine mansion from a distance and an even beautiful one up close.

"Is this it?" I asked.

"Yeah, It's a really nice house," Wendy replied as she opened the door of the house.

"Those pictures are lovely aren't they?" Wendy asked

"We took those when we just got here. Fond memories!" She added

I stared at a lot of things in the house and took a stroll in the mansion. I came across a lot of spooky substances. I perceived a weird smell in nearly all the rooms in the house. I saw a lot of glass bottles and in them were parts of plants, animals and other living things. I had quite an adventure within the home.

"Tea is ready," Wendy screamed.

"I'll be down in a minute," I replied.

It took me a while to get used to the place. Again, it was like something I had never seen before. All the other houses took the same shape, size and form. But only Wendy's had a little class.

"You have a beautiful house. It's a adventurous place too," I continued.

"So what's with the body and plant parts? Are you a Doctor or scientist? Do you run experiments with them and how long have they been there? Wow! That's a lot of parts,” I said

"Take it easy dear. One step at a time," Wendy said with a grin.

I study plants and animals. I help them grow and live better. Those thing you saw there are specimen. I'm working on something that make flowers pollinate for longer. Basically, conducting experiments on plants and animals is all I've been doing since I got here. It keeps me busy," Wendy added.

"That's Cool! I used to do a lot of things with my mom back then.. She was into science and stuff. I also found her discoveries fascinating!" I replied.

I then walked into the sitting room and sat down. I took the cup of tea and began to drink it.

"Thanks for the tea," I said.

"It's nothing,” Wendy Replied.

"So, about your Complicated story. I'm all ears now," Wendy continued.

I began by telling her about the good old days when all was perfect and both my parents were alive. I went on and on about how things were so good back then and I wish I could go back in time to relive some of those moments. I talked about how my dad died and how life was somewhat miserable for me as well as my mom.

"Those were really difficult times,” I said, with tears in my eyes.

"Take this, wipe your tears. It's okay dear," Wendy told me.

I also talked about losing my mom and how that changed everything about my life. I attributed it to be the reason why I made a lot of wrong decisions afterwards. I told her about how I decided to join the fight and be a soldier, following in the footsteps of my parents. I explained how lucky I was not to have died but be taken into s*****y which at first seemed to be worse.

I talked about my early days with the Sacred Moon Pack and how it seemed my world had come to an end. I then continued to talk about how Alpha Clint developed a keen interest in me after the mating Ceremony. I smiled uncontrollably while talking about my meetings with Alpha Clint as well as our first kiss and the dream I had. It really seemed like a happy moment for me because I got to unwind and relieved myself of a lot of burdens I had been carrying lately. Talking about the issue that I had with Alpha Brian cracked up Wendy a little.

"Now I get why you said it's complicated," Wendy chuckled.

"Yeah, I told you it was, didn't I?" I said.

After sometime, it began to get dark and I knew I had to return. It was important that I left early so that I don't get into trouble with Madam Poof.

"It's getting late and I have to go now,” I said

"Oh! That's true. The night is fast approaching. I really would have loved you to meet my husband. He's a darling," Wendy replied

"Well thank you for your hospitality, I had a good time,” I said smiling.

"Thank you too for your time . You're a wonderful visitor. I hope to see you around some other time,” Wendy replied.

"Okay, please how do I go back? I can't see any passage,” I asked.

"Through that door," Wendy said, pointing me in the direction I was to leave through.

"Bye!" I said as I walked away as fast as my legs could carry me.
