Sitting in the corner of the room was Clara listening to music after she was done with the day's job.
She had just spoken to Gabe and he and his parents went out so she was lonely and bored, she had to pass away the time so she chose music as a way to escape from all the loneliness.
While doing that she remembered the party, she and Gabe attended and the strange but cute looking guy who bumped into her.
She laughed subconsciously at the thought and continued scrolling through her phone.
After she felt stuffed, she decided to go outside to the little garden away from her house to breath in some fresh air, she has been cooped up in her room all day.
She went outside and began walking to the garden.
Liam saw her leave the house so he began trailing her, hoping she wasn't going to meet that weird boy again.
She arrived at the garden and sat down to listen to the music.
Liam seeing her sitting down there was nervous to go to her, after a while of contemplating whether or not to make his second appearance. He decided to walk up to her hoping it turns out well.
"Hey" he said as he sat down beside her on the bench there in a corner of the garden.
"Hey" she replied waving back with a smile.
"You look somewhat familiar, have we met before?" Liam asked hoping she recalls
"Yeah,we have. I met you at the party you bumped into me on my way out" Clara said happily
"Exactly, yes. Nice to meet you again" Liam said
"Same here"
"I am kinda new in this town, I came to visit someone here, what about you?" Liam asked trying to keep the conversation going
"Oh that's nice, I live here with my parents"
"Very nice" Liam said
"Thanks my name is Clara"
"Am Liam, its nice to meet you again Clara"
"Nice to meet you too Liam"
"Since am new here and no friends, can I be yours?" Liam asked
"Yeah sure, why not?" Clara replied
"Wow!! Thank you so much Clara"
"No, thank you Liam for keeping me company, I am loving it"
They both smiled at each other and they kept conversing deep into the night.
Then Clara's phone rang it was Gabe.
She picked up
"Hey, where are you? Am back I came to your house but you aren't in your room"
"I am hanging out with a friend in the garden"
"You mean you have another friend whom you can hang out with so late in the night, asides from me?"
"What, is someone being jealous? Anyways I am in the garden and I am enjoying the company so I don't want to leave now" Clara said sulking
"Wait for me there I am on my way" Gabe said hanging up.
Liam was happy she enjoys her company, but angry that he was coming over. He heard their conversation.
So Clara said
"He said he is coming over, I would like you to meet him. Since you are new, at least you won't be lonely here. He can help in teaching you the ropes of how this little town works"
"Thank you for this, I appreciate it"
FIve (5) minutes later Gabe arrived. As he walked closer to where they were, Liam could sense he was a warewolf..
Chapter 7
"Hey Gabe" Clara stood up and hugged him unknown to her that this move she made is affecting Liam negatively and in a very bad way. So he had to control his impulses else he would have been exposed as a beast thus ruining his chances with Clara.
"Gabe, this is my new friend Liam, Liam this is my childhood friend Gabe"
Gabe stretched his hands for a handshake and Liam took it reluctantly.
"Nice to meet you Liam"
"Same here Gabe" Liam said within gritted teeth.
"Okay why don't we walk back its getting pretty late" Gabe said signalling Clara that they should head home. He wasn't comfortable with this Liam of a guy.
"Okay then, Liam it's nice meeting you"
"Same here Clara"
"Liam where do you stay?" Clara asked
"Oh with a friend just downtown. I will invite you over someday"
"Would love that, I live down the street you can come visit anytime, okay?"
"Okay, its getting really late for a beautiful lady as yourself be out here in the dark, why don't I escort you back home?" Liam said
"Sure, Gabe come on let's go"
So Liam and Gabe both ended up escorting Clara to her doorstep.
After which she hugged them both and went inside only after bidding them goodnight.
After she went inside, It was just two of them left.
They both turned to leave but Gabe, spoke first
"Liam, I know you hate me, I can feel it why is that if I may ask?"
"Nothing"
"You can't lie to me, speak the truth I can see through your lies. Why do you hate me? Have we met before? Have I wronged you unknowingly by any chance?"
"Am sure you can see through my lies because you are a werewolf"
This took Gabe by surprise, he wasn't expecting to be found out that easily.
"How...how did you find that out?" Gabe asked feeling shocked and scared
"Because I am too" Liam said
"So why are you angry at your kind for no reason?"
"Because you are being too smoochy and lovey dovey with my mate"
"What do you mean by that Liam?"
"Exactly what it means, Clara is my mate"
"What? No way, she is human"
"I noticed and that's exactly why I haven't disclosed that aspect of me to her yet. I don't want to scare her off... Gabe, I really don't like how you hug her every time you know."
"Sorry about that, its just that she is my best and only friend since childhood and that can't be helped nor stopped. So that's why we hug, but its just a show of affection Liam nothing more, no attachments or ill thoughts"
"But still try to minimize the affection okay?"
"Will try Liam but, I can't promise you totally that It will just stop, cause it may bring suspicions"
"What pack are you from?" Liam asked
"I am from Alpha Xavier's pack" Gabe said
"Okay good,I know him" Liam replied
"What about you?" Gabe asked
"You'll see, anyway I have to get back to the pack before they realize am gone. Keep an eye on her, I will be back soon enough"
Liam said and sped off, more like he disappeared to normal eyes.
Gabe's POV
When I came back from an outing with my parents, I decided to go check on her. Immediately I got to the Cooper's doorstep I knew she wasn't home and its getting pretty late for her to be out alone. Where could she be?
So I dialed her number when she picked up, I asked where she was and she said she was hanging out with a friend. This puts me on high alert, what friend? Cause as far as I know I am her only Friend, and since am not there with her. Who could that be?
Immediately I told her I was coming over I ran as fast as I could to the garden. When I got there I saw some strange guy sitting and chatting with her.
Immediately he saw me he became agitated at the fact that I was present, I could feel that he doesn't want me there. What happened next was that when Clara hugged me upon my arrival. I could feel the strange guy developed great hate towards me for no reason. And this infuriated me even more.
After he insisted that he wanted to escort Clara back home it made me somewhat uneasy.
But we both ended up walking her back to her doorstep after she went inside
I couldn't wait to speak my mind and get to the bottom of all this.
I needed to know why the hatred, but he denied it all saying
"Nothing"
'Nothing huh does he think I am stupid enough to actually believe that?'
I had to get to the bottom of this.
I mean I never met him and am sure I didn't have any conversations with him before so why the sudden hatred? Where was it coming from?
But what he told me was shocking
I couldn't possibly believe that.
He knew I was a warewolf. And I couldn't sense he was?
That means he must be some powerful one.
But another revelation was revealed, he said Clara was his mate. I mean my childhood friend is a wolf's mate?
I couldn't possibly imagine that Clara has such fate when she is a human.
After asking about which pack I belonged and knowing he could trust me, told me to watch over her until he returns. And then he vanished. Leaving me with my thoughts.
'How can Clara be a warewolf's mate?'
With thoughts like that Gabe went home.
Clara's POV
As soon as she entered into the house I ran into my room cause I was feeling somehow weird, I could feel my cheeks getting pinkish at each second. Wait a minute am I blushing? I think I am blushing. Is it because of the way Liam held on to me earlier when I hugged him. Moreover I have this feeling like I have known him for a long time cause I feel drawn to him. And what a lovely hair he has. Wish I could run my hands through them someday soon. It looked so soft and creamy. He must be really taking extremely care of it.
Oh what a handsome and cute guy Liam really is. I love his eyes. I am so glad I went to the garden this evening, else I wouldn't have seen him glad I met him again after the party.
And since we are now friends then hopefully we will get to see each other more often.
Oh no, I didn't get his phone number. How do I contact him now? Right, he knows where I stay I really hope he comes visiting soon.
While thinking about all these she was taking her bath so that she can go to bed since its almost bedtime. When she was through she began wishing he was here with her. Regretting the fact that she didn't take photos of him or with him.
She quickly checked online for Liam hoping she gets a glimpse of those cute cheek bones of his, but to her greatest surprise there was not one picture of him on social Media except for million other Liams and she wasn't at all interested in looking at others. After some time she drifted to sleep.

"Hmm you took a whole lot of time, young man, so fill me in. Did anything extraordinary happen when you went in search of your mate?" Eric asked immediately he sensed Liam was back
"Yeah something good did happen" Liam said
"Oh that's cool, so what happened that made you this excited?"
"I met her in person this time, and she recalled that we have seen at the party, meaning she has or might have been thinking of me ever since that night at the party"
"Okay, is that all? Cause if it is, then you are hopeless"
"Why would you say that?"
"There are many reasons why she could quickly remember you,
1. You could have affected her negatively on that night.
2. It could be that she views you as a weird person.
3. It could be that she is...."
"Enough buddy" Liam said and threw a pillow at him and he caught it immediately.
"Okay fine continue am listening" Eric said
"The thing is, She and I are now friends, I was even privileged to escort her home. She also told me to come visiting anytime I am chanced to, after which she gave me a warm hug, that's one point for me" Liam said grinning
"Hmm... You sure move fast, on your first meeting you already got her to hug you? Impressive."
"One more thing" Liam said
"What happened?" Eric asked feeling concerned
"Remember the guy who was laughing with her at the party the other day?"
"Yeah the one you wanted to rip his heart out? How could I possibly forget that?"
"He isn't human, but one of us"
"What? He is a werewolf too? He may present a problem if they were to be dating" Eric said and this time Liam hit him hard on his head.
"Ouch that hurts dude" Eric moaned in pain.
"They have been best friends since childhood just like you and me"I'm
"Oh that's better then, did you figure out whose pack he belongs to? It better not be from our enemies pack"
"Well he is from Alpha Xavier's pack"
"Good that's two points for you" Eric said making Liam smile.
Unknown to them, Linda the ruthless twin was eaves dropping on their conversation.
