Chapter 20 Separation

1040 Words
"Stay healthy for our babies, alright?" Lucio told his wife, who doesn't want to let go. "I wish I could disagree," Aria answered with a sad face. "I'll be right back soon," Lucio assured her. She would just nod her head and meet their gap to give him her last kiss. "Take care of yourself. I love you!" says Aria before Lucio takes his flight. Those were her last words to Lucio, and he waved goodbye with his flying kisses. "We will take care of you while Lucio is away. Don't think too much about that because it might stress you out. Instead, focus more on your pregnancy," Alexander said. "You have made my wish come true. I hoped to have a completely happy family and it is happening because of you and Lucio." Aria replied. "I am already sick of hearing too many compliments. Please, I don't feel like I deserve that. Let's just be real," the Head Master voiced out. She did not express any rebuttals and let the conversation end there. Alexander does not want any drama at all. They go back to the mansion, and Aria is thinking of Keila, who wasn't with them earlier to send Lucio off on his flight. "Did Keila join us?" Aria asked in curiosity. "No, she has some other things to do. She asked for my permission," Alexander stated. Alexander will be on his usual routine, to the farm. Aria can't help but feel lonely while she is walking alone. She was thinking of killing some time by reading. She wants to explore the books inside the library. She tried to open the door, but it was locked. She was about to follow the directions to the elevator when the mirror caught her attention. She stood in front of the mirror and stared without a wink. She was not thinking and she dared not do anything. The next moment she knew, she found herself in her bed. "What happened?" she asked consciously. "You passed out, can't you remember?" Selda answered. She was standing beside her bed. Just the two of them in their room. "I can't recall anything. How did it happen?" she asked, intrigued. "You were standing in front of the mirror when we heard a heavy crash. We have found you lying on the floor. You are unconscious," Selda answered. "Oh yeah! I remember, but I don't know exactly what happened that I lost consciousness," Aria stated. She wondered what exactly happened earlier. "Did you not feel or see anything that might have triggered it?" Selda asked, giving her a hint. "No!" she replied. The phone rang, and Selda took the call. She handed the phone over. It was Lucio. "Sweetie, I have told you not to do anything that may put you in trouble," Lucio said angrily. "I was not doing anything. I was just standing right there in front of that mirror. All of a sudden, I got up here in bed," Aria explained. "Never do that again, please! You scared me!" Lucio pleaded. "I am sorry if I made you worried. It won't happen again, I promise," Aria answered. "Good! I missed you!" Lucio said. "Me too. How was your day?" Aria asked. "Tired. Tons of work like I expected," Lucio shared. "When will you come home?" Aria replied while massaging her belly bumps. "I'll let you know. I have to go in a bit. I'll call you back later," Lucio told Aria. Their conversation ended there. It is a horrible day, as he must say. A bunch of paperwork is on his desk. They required his signatories, and some were for review. He was trying to finish at least one-third of this before the day ended, but he got a message that Aria had an accident. He felt better hearing her voice and knowing she was doing okay now. He may not be able to forgive himself for anything bad happening to his wife. He wasn't there to safeguard her and their children. He was thinking if he could bring her to Manila next weekend when he goes home. He just needs to analyze the situation. He knows that his father is the first person that he can have an argument with regarding the matter. "Young Master, Mr. Wu would like to have a meeting with you. This is regarding his business proposal," his secretary butted in. "Please check my schedule and let me know when I have a spare. Set that date with him immediately," he ordered. The secretary then goes back to her working station. Before the day ended, he had his set of appointments for the entire month, including Mr. Wu. He tried calling Aria back but got no answer. He went straight to the bathtub to get some relaxation after a hard day's work. After thirty minutes, he took a hot bath. There was a doorbell, and when he opened it, it was the food delivery. He had his dinner and waited for Aria to call. He had already left her a message. "They might be having their dinner," he thought. He missed the presence and the sweetness of his wife. She had been his inspiration when he married her, and he dedicated everything to her. He had already anticipated this feeling before he left the province. He did not expect that it could be this strong. He sighed deeply and checked his phone, yet nothing came from his wife. He knew that it was going to be a real struggle not to have his wife beside him. He decided to keep himself busy at work to prevent himself from overthinking and worrying. He should trust his family to look after his wife and the kids. "I'll be home soon. I just need to fulfill all my duties in the company as soon as possible," he uttered in silence while looking up at the dark skies. His phone rang, and he couldn't help smiling upon reading who was calling. It was Aria. He answered the call feeling relaxed. Aria's voice has become his stress reliever. "I am glad you called. You don't know how happy I am to hear your melodious voice," he said, and their long talk started there.
