—Tensions rise as Lily and Matthew come faced with their desire for each other but have emotional pause. But before Matthew can accept his feelings for her he has to deal with his own personal battles. They soon embark on a trip that will be more than they expect. I sat by the window not wanting to take my gaze off the wind softly blowing against the trees. I didn't know if I truly was enamored or too afraid to see Matthew possibly standing behind me. Days had passed and I made sure to keep our interactions minimum. I knew he'd want to talk about that night and even though I wasn't upset; something in me felt the need to retreat from him. I scratched at the scar on my shoulder as it was now a dark luminous hue. The day was still bright and I decided to get some fresh air. I lifted myself up and slid my slippers back on heading towards the front door. As I twisted the lock I heard footsteps softly approaching. "You going out?" Matthew asked. I turned my head just enough to where I still couldn't see him. "Yeah I was just gonna sit outside and get some air." I swung the door open and barely stepped out as he came up grabbing my hand. I stared down prompting him to gently grab face. I stared up with a neutral expression quickly turning away. "You know you can talk to me. I mean if I did something wrong..." I brushed him off awkwardly giving a smile. "Seriously it's fine. I'm not mad or anything." I could tell he was more affected by the situation and my response didn't help. He turned away walking back into the hall and I closed the door behind me. I began to head towards the forest rubbing my arms at the cool breeze. I then heard to front door swing open once more in a rush. I expected him to follow after me only to see him head towards his car getting in. He then sped off down the road not even looking at me in the process. I sat on a dead tree stump not keeping track of the time just staring at the trees around me. My mind raced with thoughts to the point of almost exhaustion. I thought back to voice I heard that night replaying it over in my head. It sounded like a woman but I couldn't be sure or even if it was real. A slight fear overtook me at the the thought of what was happening to me and if I couldn't control it. I noticed a caterpillar trailing in front of me stopping on my slipper. I stuck out my index finger allowing it to crawl onto me. It was a dark fuzzy purple color and I held it to my face for a closer look. I then felt a sharp prick on my finger as it's tiny teeth stuck into me. I instinctively shook it off dropping it on the leaves. A light red bump began to raise oozing a little blood. My shoulder than began to itch slightly as I looked for the caterpillar. It was now on its side appearing to writhe in pain. It wasn't long before it began to shrivel up dying quickly. I didn't pay it any mind as I rubbed over the bump. I could see the sun beginning to set and I decided to head back home. I treaded over dead leaves and twigs not looking up until I heard Matthews car coming down the road. I looked to see him with the same face of deep thought and he pulled up swiftly. He was staring at his phone before huffing then putting it away. I didn't speak as I walked over the yard to the porch. Before I could get to the doorknob he walked in front of me letting himself in. I followed behind only for the door to close in my face. I assumed he decided to ignore me as I was ignoring him. I then let myself in as well. He stopped in the kitchen setting a bag on the counter and pulled out two bottles placing one in the fridge. He turned to the other one twisting it open and poured a glass. I didn't wanna bother questioning what it was and headed up the stairs. I sat down at the top resting my head on my knees as he continued into the living room. He turned on the television drinking from the glass flipping through channels. I looked back to my finger which was now clear of any injury. I thought back to my previously injured knees trying to make sense of it. Moments passed he had begun dozing off as a film played out on the screen. He still held the glass as it began slipping. I hesitantly decided to go back down approaching him slowly. The glass then fell out his hand spilling onto the carpet. I quickly picked it up surprised to see him still sound asleep. I held it to my nose sniffing it feeling a burning sensation under my nose. I took it to the kitchen and began rinsing it out. I stared at the bottle filled with an auburn colored liquid on the counter curiously. I placed the glass in the cabinet and grabbed the bottle twisting the cap off. It had the same distinct smell and I held it to my lips. I tilted back taking in a generous swig of it. My throat burned almost instantly and I let out a cough covering my mouth. Matthew then jolted awake and I swiftly placed the cap back on setting it down. He got up in a groan stretching his back. I wiped my mouth off and quickly walked out of the kitchen. He clumsily walked passed me and his phone began to ring. He let out a sigh clenching his jaw as he pressed silent. "Is everything okay?" I asked brushing my hair to the side. He didn't respond as he grabbed the bottle off the counter heading towards the stairs. I repeated myself placing my hand on his arm. He stumbled against the banister rubbing his eyes, "What?" He painfully moaned, "...no it's just..." he trailed off while twisting the cap off. I reached taking the bottle seeing how it affected him. His expressions turned slightly angry and he grabbed for it almost aggressively. "Now you wanna talk?" He snatched it back causing more liquid to spill. I was speechless and he towered over me and I retreated against the wall. "You're not the only one that gets to keep things to themselves alright." His breathing paced roughly and he pressed his hand against the wall, "Don't try to act like you care now." My face was stoic but his words still hurt. "Fine." I broke our gaze turning away. He calmed himself stepping back and took a sip from the bottle. "Just so you know....you didn't do anything wrong." I passively brushed pass him. He scoffed following me, "So what's with you avoiding me this whole time?" I shrugged running my hands through my hair. "I don't know. I just feel like I had to." He shook his head "No. That's not good enough. If you didn't enjoy it that's fine, I just want you to be open with me. But don't shut me out like I'm some bad guy." "It's not that and no you're not." I protested, "Y-You're not thinking straight. We can talk in the morning if that's what you want." I crossed my arms. He placed his hands on either sides of the counter behind me staring intensely. "I'm not afraid if that's what you think." Desperation seeped through his voice and he leaned in closer. "It's myself I'm afraid of." I whispered feeling his lips brush against mine. I shamefully turned away facing my back to him. I could feel him breathing against my neck and he cradled me from behind. His hand over my waist sliding up my shirt. He place his other hand gently around my neck and I tried to compose myself. "That stuff doesn't have you thinking straight." I softly spoke but still didn't stop him. "I'm thinking just fine." He began kissing my neck lifting my shirt up. My hands were now gripping the counter as I tried to keep myself together pressing my thighs against each other. He abruptly stopped causing me to desperately moan. "I'll stop." He pulled my shirt back down sighing. "No." I shot back. He looked surprised then turned me around passionately kissing me. His grip tightened around my neck making me gasp slightly. He pressed he body against mine using his knee to pry my legs apart. He trailed down my cheek to my neck than to my chest lifting my shirt back up. I could hear him loosen his belt loop as he licked between my breasts. He eventually came back up and picked me up by my waist taking me to the couch. He aggressively dropped me down pulling off my shorts simultaneously. I still felt aroused even though I could still tell he was upset; almost taking his frustration out on me. He reached into his pants staring into my eyes making my legs stiffen up. He noticed then placed his hand in between my legs curling his fingers inside me. I arched my back in response grabbing his arm as he went faster. He then leaned down still not breaking eye contact as he stopped propping my leg over over him. I anxiously but eagerly wrapped my arms around him and could feel the warm heat build up between us. I anticipated pain as he slowly began sliding in tightening his jaw. This time it felt more pleasurable and gripped his shirt in response tilting my head back. He wasted no time and began thrusting roughly and I could feel all his pent up frustration with each stroke. My heart rate began to increase and I could almost feel myself becoming worked up. He grabbed my hips tightly going going faster and I felt like I was going to burst letting out an intense moan. I was now overcome with an almost passionate then sat up flipping him onto the couch. Although shocked, he didn't let go as I rocked up and down while trying to calm myself. I grabbed his chest arching my back forward as my legs vigorously rumbled. He grabbed my face kissing me and pulled away gasping realizing I had came. "I might have to go out of town. It'll only be for a couple of days." Matthew stroked my hair as I laid on his chest. I sat up with a looking at him, "Is this about who's been calling?" I already had intuitively deduced. "Y-yeah....it's my dad. He's been in the hospital for the pass couple of months. It's just they think he might not make it this time." He slightly choked up. "That's fine. I don't know much about family but I can imagine you'd want that privacy. Since I'm not." I nodded in understanding. "You sure you'll be okay?" He caressed my face with a endearing smile. "It's not like I have anywhere else to go." I chuckled leaning down to kiss him. He reached for his phone out of his pants checking the time, "I didn't even realize how late it was." He got up rubbing his neck. "You're not tired?" I leaned against his shoulder as the moon shun down on us. "Well when you drink that much it does that." He thought to himself for a moment then looked to me eagerly getting up, "Have you tried on that dress I got you?" He went through his dresser. "No why?" I questioned. "I think we should do something tonight." He got up putting a pair of pants on. "Like what?" I could hear heavy music approaching as we walked down a deserted path towards a building. "That 'cab' stunk." I joked waving my hand in front of my nose. I clenched Matthew's hand nervously following behind him. "Are you sure about this?" I questioned looking down at my short dress pulling it down. "Don't worry you'll love it." We approached the entrance. Multiple people were conversing outside; some were kissing while others were vomiting. I pulled my hair over my shoulder consciously covering it. We walked in to see a tall man with his arms crossed. Matthew pulled out his wallet approaching the man. The music was now belting and I couldn't hear what they were talking about. He showed him something and Matthew signaled for me to follow him. I could feel the man's eyes on me as I took his hand and we walked in. Lights flashed and dozens of people were all dancing to the heavy bass of the music. We brushed through sweaty individuals all too encapsulated to pay each other any mind. I awkwardly clung to Matthew as I grew more anxious. "I'm right here." He placed his arm around me kissing my cheek. I calmed down slightly as we came to a counter lined with men serving drinks. He reached for his wallet again and shouted to the man for a drink. I sat down in a tall chair as he came over with two tall glasses. "Don't worry, yours is just water." He sipped from his, "Look, don't feel like you have eyes and over you. People here are too wasted to even notice. You're probably the most normal one here right now." He whispered wrapping his hand around my waist. "The music's deafening." I whispered back. He then grabbed my hand taking me back through the breathing crowd. We maneuvered through aimlessly and I accidentally bumped someone's shoulder against mine. "I'm sorry!" I turned to apologize as some of my water spilled. A man* with a suit turned to me rubbing his shoulder. I stopped for a moment as he looked at me with a sort of familiarity. I continued to stare as he began following us. I looked back to Matthew as he was too focused on getting through the crowd and not spilling his drink. I glanced to see the man was no longer there. We came into another section of the building where the music was muffled. It was a lot more calmer as people quietly conversed amongst each other. I sat down in a dark colored booth with a low light hanging over it. I drank the rest of my half full glass wiping my mouth. "Stay here I'll get you another drink." He stumbled up heading back into the main part of the building. I smiled to myself only to be interrupted by the same suited man. He placed a glass on the table sliding it to me. "Oh no thank you, someone's already getting me a drink." I brushed him off. "Don't worry..." he smirked sitting at the entrance of the booth, "It's just water." He moved the glass closer. I nervously smiled, "No really it's fine. Actually I'll just go look for him." I tried to get by only for him to grab my arm. My body seemingly froze even the his grip wasn't tight. "I'm sure Matthew will be back soon. You don't wanna worry him Lilianna." Shivers grew down my spine. He sat me back down. "Do you know him?" I tried to still act coy sitting back. "No...but I do know you." He devilishly smiled. "Do you now?" I changed my demeanor putting my guard up careful not to seem scared. I noticed a scar, more likely from an injury, hiding behind his collar. "I couldn't tell you how long I've been waiting to finally meet you." He placed his hand on my thigh. "Couldn't have been that long." I nonchalantly protested. He furrowed his brow moving in closer. "Not that long that I couldn't have been searching or not that long cause you can't remember anything before he found you?" He snickered, "You can't possibly think you just manifested here from nothing. No it's deeper than that, you have to have realized." He ran his finger down a strand of my hair. "Realize what-" "I think you should take a drink." He cut me off with a straight intimidating stair. I shook my head and looked down to see the glass already in my hand. "You may not know he's not and 'will' not be the only one who makes you feel this way. Sooner or later you'll need to get rid of him." I looked back to him and he gave a smile placing his hand on the glass as well. I felt I had no control off my body and he moved the glass to my lips. I tried to resist as he continued up my thigh. By now the water had poured into my mouth. Matthew's POV I checked my phone while simultaneously trying to signal a bartender. *5 unread messages* lit up on the screen and I contemplated opening them. Before I could make up my mind a man sat next to me. "Anyone know where to get a drink around here?" He causally nudged me. "Yeah it's crazy." I agreed not thinking much of him. He looked over to me with an intrigued look. I avoidably gave him a smile tapping my phone on the bar. A bartender soon came over with a few empty glasses. Before I could make an order the man raised his hand. "I'll have a dirty martini." He shouted. "So you here all alone." He questioned as he drink was being made. "Is that so strange?" I challenged back. "Well a good looking guy like you must have a nice piece of ass around here somewhere. What she like?" He pried even more. "I'm sorry do I know you?" I grew irritated facing him aggressively. "Nah. I'm just tryna make conversation. This is actually my first time here." "Let's hope it's the last." I snarled maintaining eye contact. "Look, I'm sorry if I came off rough I'll buy your drink." He signaled to the bartender. I continued to stare at him suspiciously. "So what's your poison? Jacks? Mouati? Agwa?" He grinned. I thought back to Lily then immediately began walking off. I could hear him say something but I was already too far too hear. I began picking up the pace pushing though the hoard of people. I soon got to the lounge to see Lily sitting with her head resting on the table. I quickly came to her lifting her up. She was dazed like she was drunk, "Lily?" I grabbed her face trying to wake her up. She groaned falling into my chest. "I don't think that was water..." she slurred. I placed her arm around my neck carrying her out the booth. My heart and mind was racing as I left out the nearest exit. I kicked the bathroom door open placing her in the bathtub. I quickly turned on the shower head sitting behind her. She was still out of it as I let the water run down her face. "Come on." I anxiously rubbed her hair out her face. She soon started to come to groaning. Her eyes squinted open and she looked around confused. "What happened?" She sat up rubbing her eyes. "I don't know. I think someone might have spiked your drink." I turned the shower off holding her. "What does that mean?" She acted as if she had no recollection of being at the night club. "Lily listen, did someone talk to you?" I questioned still thinking of the man from before. She looked more puzzled as she gained more consciousness. "Last thing I remember was you leaving to get more drinks. And then...it got all fuzzy." She recalled. I sighed then helped us both up putting a towel around her. I laid her down on the couch as she let out a hefty yawn. "I'm so tired..." she cuddled against a pillow. "You've never been 'tired' before." I scoffed. I held her hand as she was still really out of it. My phone began to ring and I drifted into deep thought. I answered it then walked off leaving her be. ~~~ Support a young writer ^-^ $Alexandrianalls
