A Short Lived Virture

Many days pass as Lily and Matthew grow accustomed to Lily's existence in this 'new world' for her. He doesn't understand her true nature but is hesitantly protective of her and her innocence of her surroundings. She's also grown a liking to him which she doesn't understand just yet. But, as begins to understand herself as well as her body, she can't help but follow her basic instinct— I stood outside of Matthew's room door with my hair still soaking wet from the bath. It was way past midnight and I expected him to already be asleep by now. I'd say I spent ten minutes just thinking about what I was going to do next. I shifted my weight causing the floor to creak in response. Before I could even knock he begin moving around in response to the slight disturbance. I could see the doorknob rotate followed by the door slowly opening. "Are you okay?" His raspy voice questions before I could see his face. He hunched over with his hair covering half his face as he stared down at me. "I-I don't think I'll ever get the 'sleeping' thing down." I sheepishly responded, "I tried to relax in a bath but that didn't help much." I wiped my forehead nervously. He let out an understanding sigh as he swung the door fully open. "You can lay in here for the night if that makes you feel better." He placed his hand on my shoulder guiding me into his bedroom. I instantly made my way to his bed putting my legs under the already warm sheets. "You wasted no time." He laughed turning the lights off. I moved to very edge as he slid under as well. As he cozied back up I looked over to see him laying on his back shirtless. The moonlight shun over us illuminating him. I laid on my side not taking my eyes off of him. He almost fell back asleep instantly which fascinated me. The warmth from him and the sheets made me fell that same bit of relaxation I grew to desire. That morning...... "Where are we going?" I asked with my head hanging out the window as we sped down the highway. "I thought today would be a good day to take you into town. Seems like you're gonna be here for a while, so why not learn what 'here' is all about." He turned off the freeway and I could see tall structures in the distance. I stared in awe anticipating what was to come. "So this is like a car? It doesn't look like a car." I questioned as Matthew helped me into what he called a scooter. "Yeah, see most people in the city don't have car so they'll use one of these. Which is a lot cheaper than one." He placed his hand on the handle lightly and I started to move forward. My legs wobbled and I quickly got off in fear. "I don't think I can do this." I felt my cheeks flush heavily. "Trust me it's fun. Look I'll stand behind you so you don't fall." He placed me back onto the scooter and put both hands on the handle. I held onto the center and we began moving again. "See it's not the bad." He smiled over my shoulder as we strolled down the street. I started to enjoy the ride as the city began to breathe around me. The honking of cars and the passing conversations began to stimulate me in a way that was so unfamiliar. I looked up to see Matthew concentrating on not letting me fall but still enjoying himself. We soon approached a crosswalk and began to slow down. I noticed a grated cavity on the road and we stopped right over it. I still balanced on the scooter and cars flew by in front of us. "What's that?" I signaled downward. "That's the vent for the sewers connected to the subway. Just be careful cause it can blow-" and just like that a giant gust of wind blew from the vent causing my skirt to fly up past my waist. Matthew the quickly grabbed it pressing my skirt firmly against my thighs as the wind blew. I instinctively turned around into his chest holding onto him. His hands maneuvered behind my thigh and I could feel his fingers touching my skin. A rush of unexplained excitement grew over me and fell to my knees hitting them onto the rugged concrete. I curled to my side in pain as people stared at me judgingly and continued walking. "Sorry! I guess that's enough scooter for today." He bent down grabbing my leg as blood rushed down it. We sat on a bench as he tended to my injuries. "Shame you can't do to yourself what you did for me." He meticulously cleaned me up. "This isn't the best way to start the day is it? I'm already doing bad." I awkwardly coward feeling my eyes slightly swell. He gave me a reassuring glance as he placed bandages on the scrapes. "Well that's the beautiful thing about 'life'..." he stood up grabbing my hand, "We get up and keep going anyway." "So now what?" I gained my composure and stood up. He looked around briefly and pointed across the street. "Well how about I take you somewhere there isn't gonna be much walking hun? C'mon." We quickly crossed the street as I cautiously limped by. "Here is where you can learn about just about anything you can imagine. You might even learn something about yourself along the way." He slide his fingers across the spines of what he called books. My eyes were enamored with the many bright colors in contrast with the warm design of the building. He then placed a book in my hands and I stared at the strange markings in confusion. "Uh I don't think I understand what this..." I blankly looked up to him. He seemed troubled for a second then walked alway for a moment. I opened it to see more, tinier, markings across the pages. He then came back with another device, which he placed over my head. "Just sit over here, press this little button, and listen." He sat me down. I curiously did as he said and pressed the button. "~The Theory of Everything....By Stephen King~" A voice spoke to my surprise. I looked up at Matthew to see him grinning at my helpless ignorance. He mouthed words I couldn't really make out and walked off briskly. Moments later.... The voice stopped as my eyes were stuck to the last page. I looked around and saw the library was almost empty and the sun had soon gone down. I removed the headphones and sat back in thought. My mind rushed taking in what I'd learned which made me question my own life as it was. 'There's so much out there......so I must be from somewhere....can't I?" I said to myself. I got up clutching the book to my chest. I began looking around to find another book when a woman approached me. "Miss, did you want to purchase that?" She softly asked noticing my visible confusion. I nodded to afraid to respond back to her. She smiled in pity almost like she could tell I was unfamiliar with this place. "Great. Is there anything else I can help you find?" She questioned. I thought for a moment then mustered my words. "Would you happen to have anything that talks about my- I mean 'the' body and how they work? Like...female wise?" I poorly tried to sound as vague as possible. She gave me a slight look of confusion but still smiled. "Oh well I would assume a girl as 'grown up' as you would already know this stuff. But I can show you." She guided me glancing at her watch. I sat on the floor with books piled to my shoulders as I skimmed through pages containing images regarding the female body. I was glued to a specific chapter that showcased what appeared to be a detailed picture of a woman's body. Though I understood it, I studied it intensely trying to make sense of myself in the process. I eventually gave up placing it on the other books. I then grabbed another book that was from the 'Fiction' section. "The ____ and _____ of Female Creatures and Their Abilities" I couldn't make out all of the words but the cover had a picture of what appeared to be a woman with a strange yet feminine looking person. As I flipped through many depictions of beautifully grotesque women filled the pages. I began to study the images and grew more in awe. One picture in particular took my attention and my chest began to beat rapidly. It was a picture of a woman laying by a body of water. Her arms and legs were covered in wound like gashes and next to her sat a man. He was tending to her and looked like he in a hypnotized state. I then turned the next page to see more images but only this time they were holding each other intimately. Her wounds were now gone and she had been taken to what I assumed was his home. I shifted my legs as they trembled slightly almost like I was affected by what I was seeing. I also stared at my still bruised knees with a curious thought. I reached for the next page, "Lily!" I heard Matthew yell in a whisper. I quickly got up leaving the books behind rushing over to him. "There you are. I thought I lost you." He grabbed my hand and walked me out of the shelves. I looked back to see the book still curious of what was on the next page. We made it back outside and night had fallen. "Did you read anything else? How's your legs?" He asked as he looked down to see if I was walking okay. "I'll be okay." I simply responded feeling my cheeks tingle. "Well we should get back before it gets late." He didn't question my awkwardness as we left down the street. We were back driving as the moon shined down illuminating the road. I looked over to Matthew who was tirelessly trying to stay awake. "So you wanna talk about what you learned?" He asked sounding like a 'parent'. I sunk back into my seat rethinking what I 'did' learn but felt embarrassed. "Well...the world is an even more strange place than I thought." I jokingly said trying not to delve deeper than that. "Well I'd like to hear more about what you thought sometime. If that's okay with you." He smiled. The car grew back silent and I look at my thigh picking at the blood soaked bandage. "We should change that when we get home." He started to reach over to examine it make my legs tremble slightly once more. I then looked up to see a deer run into the street. "LOOK OUT!" I shouted causing Matthew to stomp the breaks. We both were lunged forward and he firmly placed his hand on my chest pushing me back against the seat. My heart began racing as we breathed heavily. The deer ran back into the forest and he let out a sigh of relief. I looked down to see his hand still over me. "Are you okay?!" He slid his hand down over my thigh caressing it. My breathing picked up even more and I closed my eyes to try to calm down. "Lily?" He grew in concern from my lack of response. "C-can we just go home." I bit my lip trying to keep myself together. He nodded in response and began driving out again. The house was quiet as I sat on the toilet in deep thought. I stared at the running bath in hopes it could bring me back to my senses once I got in. I felt my eyes begin to swell again as I was overcome with so many emotions. I then heard a light knock on the door and I quickly got up wiping my face. I walked to open the door but before I could grab the handle he stopped me. "Hey Lily. You don't have to open the door or anything. I just wanted to say I'm sorry today wasn't the best. I wouldn't have brought you out if I knew those things would happen. I promise I'll make it up to you soon." He waited for a response but I was too choked up to give him one. "But I'll probably be in bed by the time you're done so I'll see you in the morning." He walked away briskly. I felt so conflicted not knowing why I was so overcome with my emotions. It felt like something inside of me was trying to crawl it's way out of me. I turned to the mirror seeing my puffy face covered in hot tears. I then began to remove my skirt, sweater, and bandages as the water continued to fill the tub. I put my hair up and walked over. I sat on the edge staring intently as my reflection rippled. I turned off the faucet and dipped my hand in the steamy bubbles hoping for a bit of relief. I could feel the warmth overtake me and I closed my eyes calmly. I was then interrupted when I heard a muffled Matthew speaking to someone. I swiftly grabbed a towel and ran to the door cracking it open slightly. He was upstairs so I could barely make out what he was saying. "No....I told you last time I.....yes I know he's getting worse.......we can't keep...." he sounded angry but sympathetic to whoever he was talking to. I wrapped myself up then unplugged the faucet to the tub leaving the bathroom. I steadily walked up the stairs trying not to make a sound. I looked to see him hunched over in a chair rubbing his forehead. "Now's just not a good time okay? I'll call you at a better time but I just can't right now." He hung up the phone tossing it onto his bed. I hid behind the banister out of view and he began to remove his shirt getting ready for bed. I held my breath as he walked out his room and into the bathroom. He closed the door behind him and I could see the phone lying on his bed. I didn't know what came over me but I quickly ran over to his room and curiously grabbing it. The screen lit up with a photo of a young looking man and woman who were unrecognizable. It then began buzzing and quickly dropped it on the floor. "What are you doing? I turned around to see Matthew standing behind me. "I-I uh..." I backed up nervously hitting my legs on the bed falling back on it. He looked slightly upset but noticed my cheeks were still stained. He placed his hand on my face rubbing over them. "Were you crying." He sat down next to me. "I-I don't know what's wrong with me." I pitifully held my head down. "There's nothing wrong with you. There's just somethings you don't understand yet but with time you'll figuring it out." He softly said rubbing his hand through my hair moving it out of my face. "Why are you helping me? You could have just left me there. Why didn't you?" I shot back even though I knew the answer. He sighed in understanding, "I don't know, I guess I just feel like I have to. It's almost like I can't help myself. I just have to." He caressed my arm lightly. "I must have hypnotized you or something." I snarked at him. He chuckled, placing his hand over mine. "Maybe you did just that." His eyes glued to mine. "And even then I don't think I care." His voice softened. His eyes scanned over me and my instinct began to take over. I placed my hand on his neck running my thumb over his jaw. "Well if that's true. Then what's stopping me?" I felt my towel fall off of my chest. Before I could hear an answer I leaned in pressing my lips against his. He immediately wrapped his arm around my waist sliding me closer to him then tilted me back onto the bed. He gently wrapped his hand around the side of my neck kissing it intensely. I let out a muted gasp clutching his curls tightly. His other hand moved from my waist lifting my leg over him. He continued to kiss around my neck and over my chest. I could feel my body relaxing as a warm fulfilling sensation had taken over me as well. "Wait." He stopped pulling my face up to him. I fluttered my eyes open not realizing they had been closed. "Why'd you stop." I desperately asked running my hand over his face longingly. "Is- is this something you want?" His breath was already labored and paced. I thought to myself for a moment before staring back into his eyes. "I don't know what else I could want right now." Before I could process what I had said he began to maneuver downward placing one of my legs over his shoulder. His ran his hand over and down my torso staring at my body intently. He then gave me one last glance as I could feel his breath between my legs. I laid back looking upward and could see the moon peaking through the window above me. My fists clenched the sheets as he pressed his tongue firmly against me and began moving it up and down. I whimpered turning my face into the pillow overwhelmed. My thighs closed around his head causing him to force them back open. He continued licking for what felt like ages and sweat began dripping down the side of my face. His hands continued feeling over me as I ran my hand up his arms. Soon he came up and his shorts had now been removed. I still had my face covered and my legs were mildly shaky. He grabbed me placing my hands his around his waist. My legs were now bent over his. I turned my face over to see his face darken with lust. I looked down and my eyes widened as he wrapped his hand around himself guiding it towards me. I looked up and his eyes were still trained on me. I gave him an assured glance and he then buried his face into my neck slowly thrusting forward. I instinctively jolted and tightly closed my eyes as he slid in further. I let out a groan and he comfortingly caressed my face moaning into me. His hand cupped my breast as he began thrusting faster. The pain steadily increased and I could feel my eyes misting up; though I didn't want to stop him. The bed had now been rocking and my back arched as I could feel myself tighten up. His breathing increased and his arms trembled causing him to collapse on top of me. He jerked forward and I could feel him release inside of me. The pain had then subsided and I laid still in slight shock at what we'd just done. He came to, kissing over my face while trying to compose himself. I bit my lip in slight anxiety but kissed him back not wanting to ruin the moment. I then slowly sat up as sweat slid down my chest which glistened in the moonlight. Matthew gave me a slight look of concern in response to my lack of one. He hesitantly tried to muster words but before he could I swiftly got off the bed. My legs immediately gave way and I fell to the floor. He tried helping me up but I shooed him trying to gather myself up. I looked down in fearful shock to see they were no longer bruised or had any scrapes. "How..." I touched them in disbelief. I then heard what was almost a faint voice shouting in the distance. I turn to Matthew to see him silent. He looked confuse then grabbed his shorts putting them on. "Did you say something?" I asked and he gave me a bewildered look. "No..." his face grew even more puzzled and he reached towards me moving my hair to the side. "What's that?" He ran his thumb over my shoulder. I looked to see an intricate scar like pattern beginning to raise through my skin. I ran my hand over it and slightly wincing as it peeled. "I don't know." I furrowed my brow at the anomaly. I then turned and grabbed the towel off the floor wrapping myself as I left the room. "Lily!" He called out following me. I didn't respond as I glided down the stairs. He stopped himself no longer following and I retreated to my room. ~~~ Support a young writer ^-^ $Alexandrianalls
