„Stop looking at me like that!“ I tried hard to ignore my heartbeat, wich was starting to beat faster then a drum. Ace rolled his eyes annoyed. After the realization hit me, that I was caged with Ace for the whole night I needed some time to stop panicking and sat down on the floor. I pulled my legs closer to me and hugged myself. My head started to feel heavy as hell so I leaned it against the wall. First I was really feeling helpless. This was the worst nightmare coming true. But than I understood, that nothing is going to change what happened and I accept the sickening fact, that I was going to stay the whole night with Ace. In the Lift. Alone. A part of me still did not loose the hope, that maybe, just maybe, someone would try to use the lift in the night and get help for us. I did not know what was going on inside of Ace bit he was acting all fine. He was the first one sitting down and feel like home. In a lift. He set on the floor with stretched legs and leaned his head on the wall. His arms were crossed on his chest and he kept looking at my direction, but it felt more like he was looking trough me. Maybe he was thinking about something. Maybe he was tired and half asleep. Maybe he was actually goggling at me the whole time. I did not know it. This was the reason, why I finally asked the question. It was starting to make me feel very uncomfortable. „The game was over, before I had the chance to decide.“ he was mumbling to hisself. The lift was not that big, of course I could hear him. „What?“ I asked confused and c*****d an eyebrow at him. „True or dare.“ he just said, still goggling at me with an emotionless facial expression. True or dare? Is he five or something? He was all that time thinking about the stupid game and that he did not get the chance to decide? Wonderful. I wanted to just ignore him and try to sleep. I really wanted. But just when I was about to look away from him I realized how worst of wear he was looking. It felt like, he was all the day long wearing a mask, wich showed the whole world how strong, powerful and confident he was. And when he was alone and tired of pretending, he would let the mask fall and be the real Ace. The Ace no one could see. The only problem was, this night he was not alone. But he still let the mask fall. Maybe he was tired and exhausted as hell and did not care who was with him, but maybe he did feel comfortable enough around me to.. Stop! That was never the case. He did not know me, why would he feel comfortable enough around me? He hated me. I shook the thought out of my mind. Naive Bella! „True or dare?“ suddenly I heard him asking me seriously. Wow. Round tow of blaming Bella just started. Ace was waiting for my answer. The best would be just to ignore him and don‘t replay to him, because I know this was not going to end well. Most importantly, I hab no opportunity to escape. „True.“ I heard me saying without realizing it. Damn it! „Tell me Bella.“ he smirked and made hisself a bit more comfortable on the floor. „What was the funniest thing, that happened in your life?“ First of all, I was shocked, because I really expected another Joanna-based-question. Than, I struggled finding the right answer for his question. I was so tired. My mind needed to rest. Still, I opend my mouth and let him having a look in my life. „Well, we were on a house party when I was 16. My best friend Noah, talked us into drinking alcohol.“, I made a little break and brushed some hair out of my face. „It was the first time for me to drink alcohol and I was struggling to agree, but I did not want to be the party pooper. You have to know, that Noah, on the other side was a showman. Always making sure he was the badass on every party we were. He always drunk so much, but never made a fool of himself. Like, alcohol did never effect him. Serena and me, we never drunk. But he told us, he will keep an Eye at us and we did not have to worry.“ „What happened?“ Ace asked waiting for the funny party of my story. „Turns out he just wanted to prank us, see if we would act drunk.“ I giggled remembering those night. „At this time, we did not know that he always did this on purpose. He would always drinking juice and pretending there were alcohol in it.“ I heard Ace chuckling and moved on with the story. „Well, this time he did interchange the drinks with three others, wich were really with alcohol. As the realization hit him, it was to late and he was to stubborn to just tell us the true and kept up appearance. In the end he was the one dead drunk. He was even so drunk he striped off his cloths and jumped from the roof of the house screaming, he was Tarzan looking for his Jane and landing in the pool.“ I stopped and started laughing. Ace was also laughing. „Some of the kids record it and soon the whole school did know about it.“ I put a hand on my mouth to stop laughing. But it was not helping really. „Well, there are still some of our classmates calling him Tarzan. Since that day he was known as Tarzan and it took almost months to make people forget about it. Thank god Eve Greens from the 7. Grade got chlamydia and everyone starts to talk about it.“ We laughed along and needed some time to get away from it. It was a great feeling after such an chaotic day. I did not seem tired anymore. So I decided to ask him the question, he was waiting the whole night for. „True or dare?“ I smiled and looked at him. „True“ Ace replayed immediately. I hoped for this answer, because there was something I would really like to know since Layla told me a bit about him and his background. I took a deep breath and gave it a second though, because I knew it was a very personal question. Something, someone like me would never get the chance to know. Still I had the cheek to ask him. „Why do you hate your father?“ I whispered but it was still loud enough for him. The facial expression of Ace changed in the same second. Ace did not look amused anymore. He was looking angry. Very angry. What was I thinking asking him such a personal question? He did not know me for even 24 hours, How did I believing he would still tell me? I was his enemy. He was hate.. „He did not love her..“ I heard him suddenly talking and breathing out at the same time. „He.. He was cheating on my mother. I guess daily. I can‘t remember everything. I was just 7.“ Ow. My chest started to feel heavy. I bit on my lower lip, trying not let this get to close to me, but I could not. I was feeling so bad. I was feeling so bad for bring him in this state remembering those things. Stupid, Bella. I did not knew what to say, because I knew he did not feel comfortable tell me about it. Maybe it was not the talking part wich made him uncomfortable, but the part remembering everything. Still, he did not stop half way, and kept going. „One day, I woke up in the middle of the night, because I heard them loud fighting with each other. I tried to sleep again but I could not, so I stand up and made my way to the bedroom of my parents.“ He made a break gaping at the ceiling. „The door was open. I could see a girl lying in the bed of them trying to hide her naked body under the blanket. My father was also naked. Not giving a f***k about it he was standing with all his glory in the middle of the room arguing with my mother, who just catch them.“ Ow. His was horrible. I was in shock looking at his angry face with his eyes soaking in sadness. In this moment I knew he just put his mask on again. Acting mad and angry about the horrible thing he was just telling me about. He had just seen with his 7 Years. In the end the only emotion he was associate with this incident was sadness. Pure sadness. And this was the moment I started to feel guilt for asking this stupid question. „I am sorry. You do not have to keep telling me, Ace. I am sorry for asking you such a personal question.“ I could feel how tears startet to filling up my eyes but did not leave. I was fighting with them. The last think I wanted now was to start crying. Ace was looking at my thoughtfully. I was wondering, why he still did not starting to yell at me or do something else witch would make me regret it putting him in this situation. But he did not say anything to me, yet move an inch. He was just gaping at me. Like always. „I knew, that my mother knew about his dirty habits. But he never brought them to our home. He would use hotelroom’s or there homes, but most importantly never our home. She never said anything and kept pretending that she did not care. Just to stay close to me. Life with me. But she was broken. Really broken. And when she catch them in her own bedroom. In her own bed, she loosed her s**t. She could not keep her mouth shut anymore. My f******g father did as always not care about anyone and yelled at her to leave the room. To even leave the house. He wanted his privacy.“ Ace just kept on telling me the story and at the last to sentence he started laughing in disbelieve and shaking his head. His laugh made me even sadder and I could not hold my tears back anymore and felt how the first one made his way down on my cheek. „She got out of the house.“ Ace stood up from the floor and made his way to my side. „And she never came back.“ He sat down beside me and pulled his knees closer to him letting his arms rest on them. I did not look at him or move away from him. I was still looking at the front were he was sitting just a few second ago. I needed time to process what he just told me. I was expecting a bad story behind the hate for his own father, yet I was not expecting such an abominable one. „On this day I started to hate him like nothing else. Since I could think, I hated him. But on this day my hate for him grow on a spezial level. No, it was no hate anymore. It was contempt. I despise him for cheating on her. I despise him for breaking our little family. I despise him for taking her away from me. I despise him for let me grow up without her. I despise him for making me wondering ever day if she was still alive or not. And I f*****g despise him for still keep on living his best live like nothing happened.“ Ace stopped and I felt his gaze on me. I moved my head to the side to look him in the eye. In the meantime more tears made there way out. I still did not know what to say. The boy wich seemed so terrifying and creepy at the same time, did made his self vulnerable in my presence. He gave me the chance to see him. The real Ace. The Ace without the mask. The Ace witch of course could feel more emotions than just anger and hate. Why? Why did he show me this side of him? Why did he felt comfortable enough for it? Why did he not just say something mean and ignore my question? Why did he let me know this very private and abominable thing about him? Ace pulled me out of my thoughts when he moved his hand to my face and kept it on my cheek. To my surprise, I did not flinch or felt uncomfortable in any way. It was the other way, I felt his big warm hand on my cheek and in the same moment I felt goosebumps all over my body. My heart was racing again and my body was getting hot from his touch. From this simple touch. From the silent crying I was getting more and more tired, my head started to hurt and spin. It was hard for me, to not let him see, how much effect his touch had on me. Ace kept his eyes on me and I was goggling in his deep grey eyes. I was loosing myself in them. They were as grey as the moon was and they were hypnotizing me with there beauty. For a moment I forgot everything around me. „Stop crying. It does not fit you.“ Ace pulled me out of the hypnosis I was in and gently rub the tears away from my face. „Now sleep. I do not want you to get eye bags that soon and blame me for them.“ He chuckled just like the old annoying Ace and leaned my head against his shoulder. My mind received everything he was saying but I was to tired and exhaust of everything that I did not have any energy left to react to him. So I closed my eyes finally and welcomed the darkness thankfully.
