The divorce

"Let go of me," Tessa said before walking out on Henry. Henry didn't know why he was hesitant for a divorce. She had done so much evil and he was only being considerate. "Why was she so stubborn?" He thought. "It's alright dear." Elena hugged him, he looked at her with love. He shouldn't bother about a woman who was stubborn, wicked and inconsiderate. When he had Elena he smiled as he kissed her. Meanwhile Tessa drove to pay her lawyer a visit. She had the divorce paper prepared in a jiffy and her lawyer looked at her baffled. "I don't want any of his property," she said. "Don't you think you can sort whatever the problem is with him?" Mrs Owen, her lawyer said. Tessa shook her head as she took the divorce paper from her. "He just needs to sign now." She said as she signed at the bottom of the page. Scrolling through her phone as she sat in the living room until Henry walked in. She looked up at him. "You aren't here with your mistress?" She snapped. Henry looked up at her, surprised to see her sitting there like she was waiting for him. "You don't question me!" He said as he walked past her. "Elena will move here in two days." He added. "Here is the divorce paper." She stood up as she handed him the paper. He took it from her and scanned through it. "You think you're always above everyone. What do you think you can do without me? How will you survive?" He asked. "You shouldn't bother just signing it." She rolled her eyes. She really wanted to leave quickly. "For many years I built everything we owned with you and now you call me a gold digger?" She clenched her fist. "You were meant to do that for me!" Henry said as he slammed the paper on the table. "One more talk about divorce and the whole media will know about your evil doings." He scowled. "I did nothing!" Tessa said as he walked past her but he only scoffed. "Get my meal done quickly!" Elena teased. It was the second time she requested another dish. Elena had grumbled about not liking the first dish although she had instructed Tessa to make it for her earlier. "Here it is." Tessa served her at the dining table without making eye contact with her. She had been made to cook, clean and wash and she terribly sucked at doing any of those. Why was she doing this? Elena had told Henry that she doesn't trust the maids to take care of her well and should make Tessa do it. "You never saw this coming, right? Like serving me." She chuckled as she took a bite into the meal. "Oh my God! What's this?" She yelled as she threw the food towards Tessa. Tessa sucked as she narrowly missed the hot food from scalding her face by an inch. "You're a horrible cook!" She yelled. "Come to think of it. You're just good for nothing. You're now useless and he doesn't love you again." She sneered. Tessa knew she just had to endure it for a bit until she made Henry sign the divorce. "The food wasn't horrible. I made it myself." Tessa said as she looked down at the splatter of food on the floor. She knew Elena just wanted to scald her face. "Don't just stand there! Clean this place and order something for me bitch." Elena yelled at her again. "You were always jealous of me but to believe you could do this, you'll regret it." Tessa yelled at her and walked out. She had been trying to make Henry sign the divorce but he had barely talked to her. She had received calls and texts from her executives from the company about her absence and the talk about her being replaced but she never replied to any of them. She didn't know what to say, she just wanted to run from it all. When he came back home he walked past her like he normally did, hugging Elena as they giggled and walked into the room. But in a few minutes she heard a scream. That was Elena's voice. "What was going on?" She muttered as she walked towards the sound. Henry came running past her holding Elena in his hands. She was clutching her stomach and yelling out loud. "My stomach hurts badly." She cried. Tessa was stunned and confused. "What happened?" She quickly ran to Henry's side as he hurried to the door. She didn't like Elena one bit but she was in so much pain. "Hurry and open the door!" Henry shouted and she ran to open the door. He carried the pale looking Elena to his Mercedes Benz and signaled for Tessa to open the door. He carefully placed Elena at the backseat and drove out of the compound leaving Tessa shocked and surprised. Tessa paced around the house as she tried Henry's number. He wasn't picking at all. She looked up to the wall clock, it was already eleven o'clock and she had no idea of what was happening. She didn't know when she fell asleep there on the couch. "Wake up!" She felt someone standing close to her. She rubbed her eyes to see Henry standing there looking at her coldly. "I had a bit of doubt that you could be this wicked but now I know you are." He clenched his fists. Tessa looked up at him looking angry and all fired up. His once loving eyes now seemed to bear deep hatred for her. "I did nothing?" Tessa's lips parted. "What happened to Elena?" She asked but he didn't give her an answer immediately. "How could you Tessa?" He asked and Tessa appeared confused. "Damn your pretense!" He slammed his hands on the table as he dropped the bombshell. "You poisoned her so that would lose the baby?" "Who said I did that?" Tessa said, shocked at Henry's accusations. He didn't really believe that she did that right? She thought. "The hospital's test said she was poisoned." He replied. Tessa appeared confused. "How can I.." she wanted to speak but he interrupted her. "You did just that, Tessa. If you're capable of killing your own baby then what else? I should have known." He said as each of his words pierced through her soul. "I didn't do all of this, Henry." She touched his arms. "I have been waiting for you to come to your senses. I know you love me Henry." She held back years. "Don't think you can move me with those fake tears." He took her hands of him and just immediately his phone rang. "She's awake." The voice from the other end. "I'll be there immediately." He said as he rushed out leaving Tessa shocked. Many thoughts ran through her mind. How did this happen? She had made the food Tessa made and no matter how she denied it, no one would believe her. After a few hours suddenly the door flew open and about three men entered. They were all wearing black masks and that covered their faces. She was terrified as she took a step back. "Who are you? How did you get here?" She asked as she glanced at their hands. They were armed with guns. "You don't want to make this hard for us right?" One of them said with a hoarse voice. He walked up to her and hit the back of her head with the gun and everywhere went dark. "Hello Mr. Henry, we have your wife with us. If you want her, prepare 500,000 dollars cash." The hoarse voice said. Henry was shocked and he turned to look at Elena who was lying down on a bed beside him. The doctor had earlier said that Elena risked losing the baby and in another scenario the child might be born with deformity due to the failed abortion. Henry already had so much hatred for Tessa already and now she had been kidnapped? He turned to Elena, "What's that love?" She asked. "Tessa was kidnapped and the kidnappers are requesting 500,000 dollars or she will be killed." He said. Elena grabbed his hands, "Don't fall for that my love." She spoke slowly and Henry leaned closer. "What do you mean?" He asked with a voice filled with panic. "Hasn't she played us fools long enough? This is definitely another plot. We shouldn't fall for it this time." She said, Henry paused for a moment and thought about it. "Feels right," he said although he felt things were deeper than he thought but he felt his pride as a man being trampled after being played by a woman many times. He picked up the phone, "I won't be falling for your tricks so I won't be paying a dime." He said as he hung up. A smile crept up Elena's lips. "That was simpler than I thought." She muttered.
