2201 Words
As soon as Alondra got home, she immediately open her laptop and stalk her ex. Gavin Marquez. Alondra couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions as she scrolled through the social media profiles of her rich CEO ex. They had dated for 3 years, and she had always known that he came from a wealthy family. However, she was still surprised and trembled at just how rich he had become. His i********: feed was filled with pictures of him jet-setting around the world, staying in luxurious hotels, and dining at starred restaurants. He seemed to have an endless supply of designer clothes, cars, and accessories. Alondra couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy mixed with admiration and longing. As she delved deeper into his online presence, Alondra discovered that he had started his own successful company, which had gone public and was now worth millions of dollars. She couldn't believe how far he had come since they had last seen each other. She heard someone's knocking on her door, she knew that that is her brother. "Come in, Travis!" She shouted. As soon as the door automatically locked, she heard the noise of a plastic placed in front of her. "Here's your coffee. I bet you didn't sleep last night." Her brother teased. "Uhm, not really cause I know I'll be receiving their reply today!" She tried to sounds very excited. Sha had no plan on telling to them that her ex is the CEO of the company she had interviewed yesterday. She sat nervously across from her brother, sipping on a cup of coffee as she waited for his reply. She had just finished a grueling interview for the position of his personal secretary, and she was hoping that she had made a good impression. Her brother, who had always been supportive of her career aspirations, could sense her nervousness and tried to put her at ease. "How do you think it went?" he asked, taking a sip of his own coffee. Alondra hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to answer. She didn't want to get her hopes up too soon, but she also didn't want to seem overly pessimistic. "I think it went well," she said finally, trying to sound confident. "He seemed impressed with my experience and my skills." Argh! Impressed Alondra? My voice cracked! She said to herself. Her brother nodded encouragingly. Whew! "That's great news," he said. "I know how much this job means to you, and I'm sure you'll hear back from him soon." Alondra nodded gratefully, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. She knew that this job would provide her with valuable experience and opportunities for advancement, financial stability and she was determined to make the most of it. She just hoped that the CEO felt the same way and forget the past. I hope he doesn't. She shook her head. Nah! what are you talking about? It's been 5 years, he definitely forgot you! As they continued their conversation, Alondra couldn't help but feel a sense of nervousness building inside her. She knew that this was a chance to prove herself and move forward in her career, but thinking it's her ex, it's the other way around. Alondra couldn't help but remembered how his broad shoulders filled out his shirt and how his chiseled jawline was accentuated by the light. She couldn't help but daydream about her CEO ex as she sat at her desk, staring out the window. She closed her eyes and let her mind wander, picturing him in her mind's eye. She saw him in a suit, his broad shoulders filling out the fabric, as he walked towards her. She could feel his breath on her neck as he whispered in her ear, sending shivers down her spine. Suddenly, she felt a hand on her shoulder, and she jumped, startled. It was her brother, but the image of her ex lingered in her mind. "Alondra, I was right you felt sleepy because you didn't sleep last night hahaha. You better sleep first and their reply takes time. You know you said it's a high paying company, I'm sure there's another applicant interviewed on that day. They still evaluating all of it." She tried to shake off the thoughts and nodded. "Thanks, Travis." But she couldn't help but imagine what it would be like to be with him again. She remembered the way his lips felt against hers, the way his touch sent electricity through her body. As she tried to sleep, she found herself getting lost in thoughts of steamy kisses and passionate encounters. She couldn't help but wonder if he still felt the same way about her, or if their relationship had changed too much since his transformation. She knew that she couldn't let herself get too caught up in these thoughts, but it was hard to resist the allure of the man she once loved. As she closed her eyes and let herself drift away once again, she couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to be with him again, now that he was a more hot and hunky man. ... Sunlight gently filters through the blinds, casting a warm glow on the lavender walls of Alondra's cozy bedroom. The sound of chirping birds fills the air, as Alondra stirs from her slumber. She blinks her eyes, slowly awakening to a sense of anticipation. She sits up in bed, rubbing her eyes and stretching her arms. She has a mixture of nervousness and excitement on her face. She glances at the clock beside her bed, seeing that it is 9 a.m. As she prepares to climb out of bed, her phone suddenly chimes with an incoming message. Alondra snatches it up, her heart pounding with anticipation. She anxiously unlocks her phone, revealing an email notification. Her eyes widen as she reads the subject line - "Congratulations, Alondra! You've been selected." She whisper excitedly "No way... Oh my God! Is this real?" Alondra quickly slides her trembling thumb across the phone screen, opening the email. The message is from the company she had interviewed with earlier in the week, expressing their delight in offering her a position. "They want me? They actually want me!" A wide grin spreads across Alondra's face, her eyes glimmering with pure joy. She jumps out of bed, energetically dancing around her bedroom, unable to contain her excitement. "I got the job!" She said squealing She grabs her laptop from her desk, eagerly searching for the contract mentioned in the email. Once located, she hastily signs it, her hands trembling with excitement. Alondra takes a deep breath, realizing that this is the moment she has been waiting for. "This is really happening! I did it!" She suddenly forget her ex because of her excitement. Overwhelmed with happiness, Alondra rushes to her closet, rummaging through hangers of clothes. She chooses a sleek, professional outfit for her first day of work, meticulously picking out each accessory to match. As Alondra gets dressed, she can't help but feel an immense sense of pride and accomplishment. This job is a step toward her dreams, and she is determined to seize this opportunity with everything she has. But she suddenly stopped when she remembered Gavin. She will be the secretary of her former partner who now owns a company. She immediately went to the body sized mirror and looked at himself. "I need to work out." Her eyes widen in what she's thinking. "Alondra your going to work there, you don't need to impress him! What's happening to me? He left me for f*ck sake..." She hysterically said. But she's end up going to salon and spa. ... Finally morning came, Alondra quickly showered, make up herself and grabs her bag and heads towards the door. Just before she leaves, she pauses, her hand on the doorknob, anxious thoughts racing through her mind. "You've got this, Alondra. Just be confident." Whispering to herself. She opens the door and steps outs into the hallway, her heels clicking against the polished floor. The sound echoes through the building, symbolizing her determination, strength, and readiness for what awaits her. Alondra strides purposefully into the grand lobby of a high-rise office building. She radiates confidence as she confidently exchanges nods with employees she recognizes. Her eyes catch a glimpse of her reflection in the marble walls, and she stops for a moment to ensure her appearance remains impeccable. Alondra steps into the elevator, composed yet her heart pounding in her chest. She presses the button for the top floor, where the CEO's office resides. The doors slide shut, enclosing her in a small space as her anxiety mounts. As the elevator ascends, Alondra takes deep breaths, reminding herself of her accomplishments and worthiness for this meeting. Her hands, steady but slightly clammy, clutch her portfolio tightly. The elevator doors open, revealing a sleek, modern office space. Alondra walks towards the CEO's door, her footsteps echoing through the pristine environment. She pauses, straightens her posture, and with a deep breath, knocks confidently. "Come in." She nearly fainted when she heard his voice through intercom. Alondra pushes open the door, revealing a spacious corner office with floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing breathtaking city views. Seated behind a large glass desk is GAVIN, her ex, now her CEO. Alondra's heart pounded in her chest as she stepped into her boss's office. She tried to steady her breathing and straighten her posture, but the sight of her intimidating superior made her knees weak. Her heart races, but her outer façade remains calm and collected. She steps confidently into the room, her eyes subtly scanning the space, taking note of every detail. The tension between them is palpable, but Alondra maintains her composure, her body language poised and confident. Her boss, a tall, imposing man with piercing blue eyes and a stern expression, sat behind his desk, tapping his pen against the glass surface. Alondra could feel his gaze boring into her as she approached him. "Alondra," he said, his voice cold and authoritative. "Close the door." Alondra obeyed, her hands shaking as she turned the doorknob. She could hear the click of the latch as the door shut behind her, sealing her in with her boss. He leaned back in his chair, studying her with a critical eye. Alondra tried to meet his gaze, but she couldn't help but look away, feeling small and insignificant in his presence. "Alondra," he said again, his voice low and menacing. "I want you to read this and sign it." Alondra's heart sank as she read through the work contract that Gavin had handed her. She had been eagerly anticipating this moment for weeks, but now she couldn't help but feel a sense of disappointment. As she read through the terms and conditions, Alondra noticed a clause that caught her eye. It was tucked away at the very end of the document, almost as an afterthought. "Employees are strictly prohibited from engaging in any romantic relationships with one another," it read. "Violation of this rule will result in immediate termination." Alondra felt a knot form in her stomach as she realized the implications of this rule. She had been hoping, and now it seemed that any romantic aspirations she had would be strictly forbidden. 'What am I thinking?' She looked up at Gavin, who was watching her with a stern expression. "Is this really necessary?" she asked, trying to keep the embarrassment along with disappointment out of her voice. "I mean, I understand the need for professionalism, but isn't it a bit extreme to ban all romantic relationships?" Gavin regarded her for a moment before finally nodding in agreement. "I understand your concerns, Alondra," he said finally. "But trust me when I say that this is for the best. We have a lot of sensitive information here, and we can't afford to have any distractions or conflicts arising from romantic entanglements." Alondra nodded numbly, feeling a mix of hurt and frustration. She knew that Gavin meant well, but his word stung nonetheless. She couldn't help but wonder if he truly valued her. 'Alondra have you gone crazy?' She shouted to herself. He broke up with her and left her 5 years ago because of his parents and now here she is, hoping again. Stupidity. Crazy. Desperate. That's what she's calling to herself. Gavin stood up, his eyes fixed on Alondra's. "We know," he said coldly, "We'd been for 3 years together, and I'm personally asking this." Her eyes fixed on his deep cold eyes. "I don't want anybody here to know that we had a relationship years ago. Understood?" She avoided his eyes because in anytime her tears will fall. It's like a thousands of knife stricken to her chest. She forced her tears to come back to her eyes, and gazed up to her boss. "N-no problem to that. Guess what? I've already found someone who puts up with all my quirks and flaws." She noticed his sudden change of expression but his eyes went back to cold and stern expression. "I'm also inviting you to my wedding." Her eyes widen. "What?" "Yes. I'm getting married."
