28. "Tears are words that heart can't say!"
The hard slap made Nidhi to collapse on the floor, is it not that hard but the shock turned her weak. The state that she is in now was another metaphor for her stumbled state.
"How could you do this Nidhi, tell me?" Her mom strongly pulled her hand and burned her with her gaze. That much of anger reflected on her eyes.
"Please mom, I am in love with him," she told and that added fuel to the fire.
"Love? What is your age now, is this what I taught you for all these day?" saying that she again slapped her arms.
"Amma, please." Nidhi doesn't know what to say to convince her. She is devoid of words. Soon her mom started crying for raising such a disobedient girl. Witnessing all these Nidhi's dad consoled her mom. He was so angry on his daughter but he can't scold or beat her since he loved her that much.
Helpless and without knowing how to manage the situation, Nidhi started crying. Her mom again scolded her for shedding fake tears. Nidhi can't believe is it really her mom cause she never acted this way, it is really surprising and hurting for her.
"How much I felt proud of you, but you were deceiving us for all these days, for how long you are in love with that guy?" She asked pushing her husband. But Nidhi kept mum.
"Open your mouth and answer me," she roared in anger.
"Almost a year," she gasped the words.
Her mom couldn't control her anger, she was very strict when it comes to obedience, family honor and respect.
She is indeed against love and love marriages since she was born and bought up in a very conservative family and she never can accept that her daughter was loving someone other than their caste and culture.
"When did you became this fearless, oh god how many lies! Don't you have a small regret for deceiving us," her mom's questions made her to cry hard.
"Sorry, mom," she chocked.
"I don't want your sorry! Tell that you will end this relationship!" Her mom finalized and Nidhi went to the extreme of shock.
"Mom..." She cried.
"Don't act again, you have to end the relationship with him tomorrow or else don't live with us or we will go somewhere," she told like that is her finalized decision.
Telling that her mom stood up and went out of the house with Nidhi's dad. Sitting in the silence, Nidhi asked only one question to herself.
Can I think anyone else than Varun?
She knew the answer it is obviously 'NO' she never can imagine a life without Varun in it.
She wiped her tears and went to her room. She didn't call him for any help just remained silent lying on her bed. The only thought she had in her mind is to courageously face everything.
She feared about whatever the things that she is going to lose after this, and Varun words constantly rang in her ears. 'I am with you, be ready for everything' she closed her eyes hoping that tomorrow will be fine.

"Mom please, I can't leave him," Nidhi cried tightly gripping Varun's hand but her mom was pulling her hand and shouting to come to her.
Nidhi felt so hard to keep a hold of Varun's hand, slowly she started losing the strength, her eyes started shedding tears, and she looked up Varun. He just blankly staring at her and standing straight in his place. She didn't get any support from him. Unable to withstand the affliction, Nidhi left Varun's hand.
She is stunned and looked to find him vanishing from her eyes.
'No!' Screaming mentally Nidhi got up from her sleep.
'What a bad dream' she whispered and sat straight rubbing her eyes.
She looked for her phone to check the time but it is nowhere to be found.
She dreaded in fear cause in her gallery there are few pictures of them together.
What If my mom look at that? Oh god I am going to die today for sure, she thought and went to bathroom to finish her morning chores. Thinking about her mom and the upcoming fight eventually made her to use the restroom.
Once she is done she came out and looked for her mom, she is sitting on the couch and checking her mobile along with her dad.
Noticing that Nidhi sighed. That's all I am finished.
They both turned their gaze to Nidhi and she gave an apologetic look.
"In my entire I did a very stupid thing of raising you, better I should die rather than seeing this shits," her mom told and her dad not even looked Nidhi.
"Mom please, I know I did a mistake but I am in love with him mom," she reasoned knowing that they won't listen to her words.
"Don't say that word Nidhi, I don't know what I will do," she warned.
The first time Nidhi felt afraid to speak with her own parents. She know they will act rude to her but never thought this much of hatred from them.
"I decided, better stop her studies and shift her to Palakkad to stay with Grandma," her dad said.
"Dad!" She exclaimed in shock. The person who always speak about women empowerment now showed his true colors.
"Yes, I think that is best, than making her to stay here and destroying our family reputation," her mom accepted her husband's decision.
"Please I want to study I won't go anywhere," now Nidhi raised her tone.
"We didn't ask your opinion, go and eat the food."
"And... He called you two times. Next time if he calls you tell what we have said," her mom ordered and her dad went into his room.
Nidhi went to the kitchen and served a little food on her plate since she doesn't feel like to eat and headed to her room.
She prayed to God that Varun should not call her again since she doesn't have that guts to say those words that her mom wanted her to say.
He will kill her if she says that she want to breakup with him and her mom will kill her if she didn't breakup with him. But overall I am going to die either in the hands of my parent or by Varun, she thought and cried.
Love isn't a big sin, loving someone in this age is not at all a mistake. But these are all not even get into Nidhi's parent’s heads, not one of them understood her heart. This made Nidhi to cry over and over.
And the assignments that are pending and the lessons that she have to learn are all the only escape she had in that moment even though she had a doubt whether she will continue her studies.
For the entire day she studied for some time and then slept tired of crying. When she again opened her eyes she doesn't know whether Varun called her or not. Heading into the bathroom Nidhi washed her face thoroughly and her eyes were burning hot.
She came out of her room to get a cup of coffee, she was surprised to see the time as 6.45 pm in the evening. Her mom was sitting on the sofa and watching TV with her mobile on her hand.
She eyed Nidhi and surprisingly remained calm, getting a cup of coffee Nidhi headed to her room. When she was about to take a sip suddenly she heard her phone ringing sound.
Her eyes widened in fear....
"Nidhi!" Her mom shouted.
She placed the cup on the table and went out, her mom showed the phone screen, the name 'Hubby'
"Talk to him," her mom gritted. Her sweet mother totally turned into a killer mom.
"Put it in the speaker," she added.
"Hello!" She stuttered.
Hearing her voice Varun sensed there is something odd. "Why you didn't attend my call?" He asked.
"I was busy," she said looking her mom.
"Oh...okay," "Tomorrow I am leaving to delhi," he informed.
"Okay... Then Varun!" She closed her eyes that were welling with tears.
"Let's breakup Varun," she spit the words in an utmost difficulty.
"What?"
"Let's end our relationship, don't call me hereafter," she cried.
"Have you loosed your mind or is there any problem," he questioned.
"No, don't disturb me hereafter," she told that for one last time and ended the call. Her mom grabbed the phone from her hand.
"Fine, I am doing this for your own good, go to your room and sleep," Her mom said and Nidhi nodded her head.
She betrayed Varun, a very stupid thing that he will never can forgive her for doing this but what else a helpless woman can do?
Her dad came out his room after napping and he asked about what happened to his wife.
Varun clearly understood she was indeed in a problem. He can't stay back in his house after hearing those things from her. He came out his room and rolling up his sleeves Varun walked out of his house.
There is not even a slight hesitation in his gestures, he is very confident of what he is going to do now.
