Who Are You?

The words of the young girl struck the young boy at his sore spot. He felt slightly embarrassed as he forced a bitter smile and rubbed the back of his head. He wanted to say something, but he just couldn't find a word to retort. “W-what do you mean?” In the end, he was forced to ask to be enlightened. His gaze shifted at the young girl who almost had a similar face to him. He stared at her golden eyes that looked the same as his before he gulped a mouthful of saliva waiting for an answer. “Sigh, let me enlighten you, you fool,” The young girl sighed as she shook her head slowly. After a moment, she turned serious and went on, “Since uncle Jason is sent to protect us, what do you think will be it to get his interest?” “D-don't tell me...” There was a few moments of thinking before realization dawned on the young boy. And at that moment, he had his eyes constricted a little as he seemed to be able to understand what was going on now. Thus, he hurriedly turned around with his horse and swept his gaze at the surroundings where they came from. But when he found nothing, he immediately frowned and said, “Don't joke with me. I don't think bandits were tailing us and preparing to launch a sneak attack.” “Fool,” The young girl sighed again as she added, “Who told you that we are being tailed by bandits? And when did bandits, who always made huge moves, launched a sneak attack?” “That...” The young boy was a little surprised and embarrassed. After forcing a smile, he added, “Then what do you mean?” The young girl sighed again before she turned serious. She went silent for a moment before she replied, “Although there are no bandits, someone may be watching us from the shadows. But with uncle Jason's sharp senses, that someone must be detected by uncle. However, this someone must be extremely proficient in hiding as uncle found it interesting.” “That...” The young boy was taken aback by her words as he subconsciously shifted his gaze to their uncle Jason. Seeing the other party had a slight smile, he could conclude that it was a confirmation. Taking a deep breath, he swept his gaze in his surroundings trying to find that certain someone. But when he failed to find anyone, he could only open his mouth and remarked, “Then that someone must be a high-level awakener.” “Who knows.” The young girl responded nonchalantly. She didn't agree nor disagree. Because if that person was really a high-level awakener, then it would only be normal for the other party to be able to hide his presence to some extent before her uncle Jason. And she knew well that something as normal as that wouldn't incur her uncle's interest at all. However, if the other party was only a low-level awakener, then it would make sense if it piqued the interest of her uncle. But low-level awakener? Even she found it hard that a low-level awakener could possibly hide their presence from her uncle Jason. Perhaps... Suddenly, a wild thought entered the young girl's mind. She turned exceedingly wary as there was a slight fluctuation in her demeanor. If one knew her well, one could immediately tell that she was somewhat perturbed. “Haha, don't worry little princess. There is no assassin around.” Jason suddenly laughed seeing the little princess becoming wary. He could tell what the other party was thinking. And he found it a little funny that the little princess, who was always nonchalant, would wear such a worried expression. It seemed like the outside world had really brought her some pressure. “Is that so?” The young girl heaved a sigh of relief. Thankfully, she only had a wild thought. But she couldn't blame herself as well. One must know that a single assassin was much dangerous than a group of savage bandits. Unlike the bandits who always took a frontal attack, assassins would always hide behind the shadows looking for an opportunity to launch a sneak attack. Some great assassin could even kill their target silently even if the target was surrounded by the crowds and heavy security. That was why she had lost her calmness a little when she thought that an assassin was after them. Because it might be possible that their uncle wouldn't be able to protect them once a good assassin targeted them now. But now that she thought about it more clearly, how could an assassin get the interest of her uncle Jason? Instead of being interested, she was certain that her uncle might have gotten extremely wary. Having thought about it, the young girl smiled slightly as she mocked herself for losing her calmness and be taken by worry. How could she let herself lose her judgment just like that? It appeared that she really was still not yet ready to face the outside world. Good thing, there was someone who would accompany and protect them during their journey to gain experience. If she was all alone, she was afraid that she wouldn't last too long at all in this kind of environment where dangers were always by her side. “I wonder who it is that gets uncle's interest?” The young girl, who seemed to be the little princess, suddenly asked as she stared at Jason. The young boy, who also seemed to be a young prince, also stared at Jason, anticipating an answer. Even the other two middle-aged men who were clad in steel knight's armor stared at Jason as they too didn't sense anyone at all from their surroundings. If it weren't for Jason, and the conjectures that the little princess had come up with, then they wouldn't even think that someone was watching them from somewhere. Just how dangerous was that person for him to avoid their detection? That was what the two knights were thinking. They couldn't help but be wary even though Jason, their captain, had already said that there was no assassin in the area. Meanwhile, Dugo Zugath had his heart already beating wildly a long time ago. Cold sweats poured down his face and body as his breathing became unstable. His hands were sweating too and were trembling, his feet were itching to run away. How could he not feel anxious if it was obvious that he was already found out by the other party? But could he escape from them? One must know that since that man clad in silver armor could detect him, then he must be extraordinary. And he could tell just by staring at the other party, and looking at his demeanor, that he must be extremely strong. How could he hope of escaping from him? Left without any option, Dugo Zugath took a deep breath. Since he couldn't escape anyway, he should just try his luck and reveal himself from them. With that in mind, Dugo turned exceedingly serious as he fixed his gaze at the man who detected him. And seeing the other party's gaze finally descending on the bush where he hid, he could tell that he was really been found out. “What an interesting brat,” Jason on the other hand finally opened his mouth and made a remark. His tone of voice had even shown a hint of astonishment and disbelief. After taking a moment of pause, he opened his mouth again and then asked, “Tell me, who are you?”
