New Companion

“We should leave this place now.” Dugo Zugath suddenly said. Although he had an opportunity to kill Jenna right now, since their grudge wasn't that huge, he didn't think about it. He thought of just leaving her alone and staying away from her as far as possible. But when Dugo was about to pick Sael and carry him to leave the area, Samantha suddenly spoke. “Actually, she is not bad as well. If you can make her one of your companions, then it will be good for us as well.” Since she had cast an illusion on her, Samantha had some knowledge about Jenna. Although she could only see part of her memories, it was more than enough for her to tell that she was good. “I know she is abnormally strong, but her behavior is just too... lacking.” Dugo shook his head in disagreement. Knowing that Jenna was too unconventional, he didn't want her to be with their group. “You probably feel that way because you don't know her well. But actually, with her character, I can tell that she is the type of person that will leave her friends at the worst time. I can even see that she is willing to sacrifice her life just for her loved ones. The only downside of her is that her mind is really a bit too lacking...” Samantha explained with a smile. But there was a reason why did she want Jenna to be with their group. After all, she had seen part of memories. And one of those was a sad and painful past. That said, she felt that they were in the same boat as she didn't want her to leave her alone just like that. Samantha didn't realize it but she was changing. If this was before, she wouldn't even care about the situation of others. After all, everyone had a dark past. And she wouldn't even bother concerning herself about it. She would only look down upon it and consider it normal for the lowly ones. However, when Dugo had defeated her in a battle, she had come to lower her pride a bit. And when she saw the past of Jenna, she felt sympathy towards her. Thus if Jenna agreed, she wanted her to be with their group. “And also, she is planning to go to Purple Mist Forest. Since we are going there anyway, why don't we bring her with us?” Samantha added shortly after. “Hmm... You really want her huh.” Dugo Zugath said as he pondered deeply. After which, he shifted his gaze at Jenna for a good while before he continued, “Alright, let's include her then.” Since this was the request of his new friend, it wouldn't be that bad to agree with her, right? Hopefully, it would turn for good later on. Hearing him agreeing, Samantha smiled. But her smile this time was as mischievous as before. It was as if trouble would follow suit the moment that kind of a smile appeared. And Dugo on the other hand had now a bitter smile on his lips seeing the other party. He even felt like regretting to agree with her to include Jenna in their group. But since he already said so, he could only swallow a mouthful of saliva with the same bitter smile. He really was just hoping for this to turn for the better. “Alright, let's find a place to stay first.” Samantha suddenly said. Sael's unconscious suddenly body levitated in the midair and went beside Samantha. The same went for Jenna. Her body had also floated and flew on the other side of Samantha. From the looks of it, she used her Mental Energy to carry the two of them. “This girl's Mental Energy is surely strong...” Dugo thought seriously when he saw what Samantha had done. He even felt that her Mental Energy was stronger than his big brother Gulang. At that moment, Dugo couldn't help thinking again what kind of background this girl really had for them to raise such a monstrous child. But when he recalled that they were talking about “protecting the Palace” when he peeked through her memories, Dugo suddenly had a small understanding of her. It couldn't be that she belong to some kind of Palace, right? Looking at her now, he felt that there was a high chance for his guess to be correct. Dugo Zugath then nodded seriously. Samantha on the other hand took his nod as an agreement as she walked past Dugo and said, “Let's go then.” Sael and Jenna's unconscious bodies had naturally followed her behind while they were floating. Dugo on the other hand turned his head and followed his gaze on her back. After a moment, he also walked to follow her behind. It didn't take long for them to reach the end of the alley. And a crowded street had immediately obstructed their view. When they reached there, Samantha halted her steps as Dugo did the same. After which, Samantha looked around for a good while with the same mischievous smile. When her gaze landed on the highest building in the area, Samantha pointed her forefinger at the as she spoke, “Alright, let's go there.” She didn't wait for Dugo's response as she walked in the direction of the highest building together with Sael and Jenna. “That...” Dugo Zugath wanted to say something but seeing that Samantha had already walked away, he didn't have the chance to say his opinion. He wanted to say that that building was too extravagant for them as they were too poor to even dream of entering it. However, Samantha decided for himself as she walked in the direction of that building. She didn't even ask for his opinion as if it wasn't needed at all. Helpless, Dugo Zugath could only run as he went to follow her behind. After all, Samantha didn't even look back as he was now a distance away from him. Just what in the world was this girl thinking? It couldn't be that she was actually rich, right? Now that he thought about it, Dugo felt that his guess was actually true. This girl must really have an extraordinary background. And it must be fairly rich as well.
