The Kid

“I want to live...” Dugo Zugath heard again the voice of the last person that he was about to kill. Sitting on his feet with a complicated emotion, he shifted his gaze at the other party. And he found him tilting his head in his direction. Although no tears were coming out, just by looking at the other party's dull eyes, Dugo could tell that he was crying in his heart. And Dugo's heart couldn't help tightening. And also, now that he looked at the other party even more clearly, he just noticed that he was short and small compared to any other person he had killed previously. There was a high chance that this person before him was also a kid just like him. Was it the reason why did the other party want to live? Was it because he was just a kid? Dugo suddenly thought about it. He was thinking that this kid must have a lot of dreams that he wanted to achieve. But unfortunately, all those dreams had shattered as this kind of misfortune had befallen him. Dugo Zugath didn't know what to do at that moment. Helplessness filled his heart. He wanted to do something and help the other party but his lack of ability prevented him from doing so. Kutob! In all of a sudden, Dugo Zugath's heart beat wildly. It beat so hard that it pound his eardrums. What was strange was that Dugo didn't notice it at all. He had even stopped moving. His gaze was fixed at the kid that had a dried body. However, his eyes were blank and dull as if his thought was wandering. He appeared as if possessed. Unexpectedly, some kind of energy leaked out from his body. It was as if a black aura rising above. The black energy caused pressure to the surroundings as the faint purple mist in his surroundings was trying to escape. It was as if it met a dangerous creature as it didn't want to come any closer towards Dugo where the black energy was coming from. Surprisingly, the black energy didn't affect the kid lying on the ground. The kid only stared at Dugo Zugath with disbelief as his breathing became heavy. If this went on, he might even die because of his astonishment. However, despite the occurrence, Dugo Zugath on the other hand, who had his eyes opened widely, didn't notice what was going on in him. After a moment, he even stood up unhurriedly but it appeared that he didn't know what he had just done. It was as of his consciousness was somewhere else. Just after Dugo Zugath stood up straight, he raised his hand forward and pointed his forefinger at the kid who was still looking at him in wonder. Shortly after that, a drop of blood came out from his fingertip. It formed a small bead of blood as it floated in the midair. To the kid's surprise, he could feel a very strong life force coming from that drop of blood. And his eyes couldn't help widening as his heart was hastening a beat. It was as if his body was longing for that bead of blood that was full of life force. And just as the kid had expected, the bead of blood floated towards him. It went directly towards his mouth as he even opened his mouth to receive the blessing. Just the moment the bead of blood entered his mouth, the kid, who didn't have much feeling in his body anymore, had immediately felt a warm sensation in his mouth. His eyes widened again as he felt the good sensation. After a moment, the warmth spread from his mouth to all parts of his body. His senses, which became dull after his body turned dry, were slowly coming back. His life force that was about to fade suddenly gained vitality as his strength and energy were returning at an extremely fast rate. His blood was boiling, his dried body was having a flesh again and was lushing in vitality. It was as if he was undergoing a rebirth. “This...” The kid found it hard to believe what he had just experienced. His voice had even turned back to normal. He raised his hand and put it in front of his face before he slowly curled it into a fist. “Is this for real?” The kid muttered in astonishment. Who would have thought that it was still possible for someone like him who was at the death's door, to be pulled back? Just what kind of heaven-defying skill did that kid had done to him? Just who was him anyway? Thud! However, just as the kid was still trying so hard to believe what had just happened to him, he suddenly heard something falling on the ground. He came back to his senses as only then did he turn his gaze where the sound came from. And in there, he found the kid who saved him from the death's door lying unconsciously on the ground. The black aura enveloping the other party's body was no more as it appeared that he passed out due to exhaustion. Seeing his savior in that state, the kid hurriedly got up from the ground. It was as if he didn't suffer a moment ago in the first place as he immediately went directly beside his savior. After which, he crouched down and sat before the other party as he flipped his body that was currently lying on the ground with his front. Shortly after, he placed his hand at the back of the other party's head to make it his pillow. Seeing his savior having stable breathing, the kid heaved a sigh of relief. He then gazed at the other party's face as many thoughts flooded in his mind. “Just who are you for real?” The kid asked in a low voice. Never in his wildest imagination that there was someone in the world who could save someone like him from that situation. On top of that, that person who saved him was only the same age as him. How could he expect something like that? He must be crazy if he thought that there was someone capable in the world. But there was nothing he could do but to believe. The truth laid bare before his eyes. There was really someone capable in the world that could heal someone like him who had their life force being sucked away. Naturally, the price for saving him appeared to be huge as well. But then, it didn't change the fact that it was still an incredible feat. Something that would definitely cause an uproar to the world once this news came to light. “Thank you... So much.” Of course, the kid didn't forget to show his deepest appreciation. He bowed his head deeply as his head had even reached the other party's chest. Tears of joy also fell from his eyes as he thanked the other party with all his heart.
