Being Chased

"Pfft... Hahahaha!" Suddenly, two voices nearby burst out in laughter. It even seemed like they had heard the funniest joke in the world as they would die laughing at any moment. Gulang had a darkened expression when he heard them. He could tell that the other party was not taking him seriously anymore. "Gulang, I know you are the strongest among us. But have you forgotten that you are heavily injured right now? Not only that but you are also poisoned, I really want to know what can you do to us." Just by hearing that tone of voice alone, one could immediately see the grin on his lips. Shortly after the voice was heard by Gulang, a man with a thin and tall build appeared in a distance away behind Gulang. It was evident that he was the one who had just spoken. In his hand was a bow and on his back were the arrows. It was obvious that he was the one who shot Gulang just a while ago. On the right side of the thin man was another man with a shorter but bulky build. Although he didn't speak anything yet, it was evident that they shared the same thoughts. Both of them had smug faces. It could be seen that their arrogance didn't pale to each other when compared. On their right cheek was some kind of tattoo showing that just like Gulang, they too were slaves. Gulang naturally ignored their arrogance. He finally turned around to face them without hinting any fear. Instead of talking with them, he grabbed one of the arrows piercing his chest as he forcefully cut its tip with his hand. He did the same to the other arrow. Although he ground his teeth a little showing the pain he felt, it didn't stop him to do so. After which, he used his energy to control the arrows out of his body before they fell on the ground. That energy he'd just used was no other than Mental Energy. It was an energy similar to psychokinesis. With his mind alone, he could control some things within his range. With stronger Mental Energy, he could control more things at the same time or heavier things. Those who were stronger could even compress their enemy into a meatball. But with Gulang's current strength, what he could control was naturally limited. Of course, it was more than enough to dispatch the two trashes before him. "Oh? How fierce. In that state, you still want to fight us? You truly are admirable, Gulang. Unfortunately, you and that brat will still die today." The man with a bulky build finally spoken. And just as expected, his tone of voice was surely arrogant. He was even licking out his tongue as he grinned. "You must walk over my dead body first before you touch little brother Dugo," Gulang responded coldly. "Kekeke, no, you're wrong. Although we will definitely kill you, we still want to play with you before that. As for that brat..." Sneering coldly in his heart's content, the bulky man took a moment of pause before he continued with a wider grin, "Naturally, someone else will take care of him." "Don't tell me..." Upon hearing it, horror dawned on Gulang. Could it be that there was someone else sent by their master to catch them? Seeing the pale expression of Gulang, the thin man burst out in laughter before he said to confirm the other party's thought, "You really are smart. Master Diego sent the three of us to come after you. Seeing the time, I think that guy is probably playing with your beloved little brother by now." "You..." Gulang's expression turned grave. He didn't dare dally as he took out a bottle from his pocket. It was a bottle similar to what he took out before. And just as expected, the moment he opened the lid and took the thing inside it, a golden pill appeared. It was naturally the Gold Injury Pill! The moment the thin and bulky men saw the pill and smelled the fragrance exuding out from it, their eyes couldn't help but constrict. They could only mutter in disbelief, "Gold Injury Pill!" "You... How come you have that pill?" The bulky man asked seriously. If not for the dread he currently felt, greed might have taken over his heart already as he would rush towards the other party like a hungry wolf. But similar to the thin man, the bulky man was now sweating in cold sweats. They no longer wore their haughty grin just like before. Their hearts had even hastened a beat telling them that a bad premonition was ready to happen at any moment. With their distance towards the other party, even if they rushed, they wouldn't make it on time as Gulang would likely swallow the Gold Injury Pill first before they could even arrive. If that happened, they would only get themselves killed once Gulang had recovered from his injuries. But then, they must admit that they were certainly interested in how did Gulang get a hold of such a precious thing. It was just a pity that they didn't receive any answer as Gulang put the Gold Injury Pill in his mouth. The instant he swallowed it, he no longer felt dizzy because of the poison. Even the numbing pain he felt in his chest had instantly vanished as the wounds caused by the arrows had closed, leaving not even a scar. The effect of the Gold Injury Pill was surely astonishing! After confirming that he was now completely healed, Gulang glared at the two men before him as he rushed at them. No matter what, he should not let these two dogs remain alive if he wanted to chase after his little brother and save him. He knew well that if he leave now, these two would only follow suit as they would only bring even more trouble. Since that was the case, he must hurry and finish these two in the shortest time possible. Gulang knew well that if the other D-rank slave came after his little brother, he would be no match for him. After all, even though he believed that Dugo was not an ordinary individual, that he would awaken a certain kind of energy sooner or later (since he thought that it was just delayed), it didn't change the fact that a D-rank awakener was just too much for him. Not to mention Dugo was only 13 years old, even if he really did awaken a certain kind of energy, he would be at most, an E-rank. How could he be a match to a D-rank awakener? Gulang set in his mind that he must really hurry up and come to save his little brother! Thus, Gulang furiously rushed towards the two men before him. With his Mental Energy, he only needed to get a little closer and he would be able to break the neck of these two even without touching. At that moment, Gulang's eyes emitted a cold glint as it even appeared that he was no different than a lion catching its prey. *** Meanwhile, somewhere inside the woods, a young boy was hiding under a certain bush. Although it appeared that he was hiding from someone, his eyes gleaming with cold glint didn't show any trace of fear but instead, he was overflowing with confidence as he displayed a bearing of a hunter. Who else could it be other than Dugo Zugath? As someone adept in the forest especially in the place he was in, he naturally knew every nook and cranny in there and knew as well how to deal with his surroundings. So even though he encountered many strong beasts along the way, he could avoid them quite easily. Not only that, he even used those beasts and lured them to obstruct that someone who was chasing after him. But of course, since those beasts were only stronger than him but weaker than that someone who was chasing him, they were easily killed by the other party. Their purpose as a distraction only gave him a little time to hide. "Little brother Dugo! Where are you hiding? Come out already and play with big brother here." Just as Dugo managed to find a good spot to hide, someone yelled out loud. His tone of voice was not hostile nor timid, but one could immediately see the eagerness to find him. It was a middle-aged man with dark blonde hair and a short beard. He wore dark clothing that wasn't extravagant nor tattered. In his hand, a broad sword was being held as the back of its edge was put on his shoulder. There was a red liquid dripping from the edge of the sword as it was evident that it was the blood of the beasts he'd just slaughtered on his way in chasing after Dugo Zugath. But he must admit that Dugo was surely elusive. He was only distracted for a short moment and he already had lost track of him. It was really a good thing that he knew Dugo a little. Otherwise, he might have run frenziedly across the entire forest in search of him. With Dugo's style and habits, he was more than sure that he had not gone far away and was hiding in the surrounding area. Dugo on the other hand didn't dare to breathe loudly. He didn't even dare to make the tiniest movement as he watched the other party from the distance. Knowing the other party's strength quite well, he was afraid that he would be immediately caught if he was found by him. He might even die if the other party made a move once he was found. Thankfully, Dugo Zugath had some cards under his sleeve. With his right hand, he was holding an egg enough for him to grab its lower half. His grip on the egg tightened a little as it was apparent that he was looking for an opportunity to throw it at the other party. "Since you want to play that much, let me grant your wish." Dugo Zugath thought as a slight smile crept on his lips. Although he was far weaker than the other party, he was confident that he could outwit him and even defeat him with his tricks and cunningness.
