The Brat Who Is Filled With Cunning Tricks

1231 Words
A while ago, when he was running away from the pursuit of Diego's dog, Dugo Zugath came to a sudden halt when he found a small open area where trees do not stand. But the reason why did he stop wasn't the open area but the huge mound placed at the center of it. The mound was at least thrice taller than him and at least ten times bigger than an average tree in the forest. Seeing the hole more than enough for him to enter, he could tell that it was an opening to get inside. And he could tell as well that it was a beast nest. The nest of the Black Totem Snake! At first, knowing clearly the strength of the Black Totem Snake, Dugo Zugath didn't dare come close to its nest. But upon clearer inspection, he noticed some traces of the snake leaving out of its nest. He could tell that it was wandering in the area nearby to hunt for some food. Upon making sure of it, Dugo Zugath purposely left faint traces of him going in the other direction as he also left obvious traces leading towards the nest of the Black Totem Snake before going to its nest. It was his way to confuse the one chasing after him. With that, when the other party saw the obvious trace leading towards the beast nest, and then saw as well the faint traces leading to the other direction, he would think that Dugo was purposely leading him towards the beast nest so that he would encounter and anger the Black Totem Snake and then forced to fight it. With the other party's line of thought, he would think that Dugo was too afraid to come close to the Black Totem Snake's nest as he would only use this snake to obstruct and delay him. With the Black Totem Snake's strength, Dugo knew that it was more than enough for the other party to give him a huge headache and more time to deal with it. And Dugo knew as well that the other party wasn't oblivious towards the strength of the Black Totem Snake. With that said, Dugo was 90% certain that the other party would likely avoid the beast's nest. If that happened, the other party wouldn't think that he had something to do with the beast's nest. Having thought about it, Dugo Zugath finally reached his distance in front of the mound. And just as he expected, the Black Totem Snake was not around. But instead, what he saw inside the mound was its egg. Dugo Zugath couldn't help but smile a little seeing that his expectation didn't betray the reality. There was really a beast egg inside the mound! Seeing that there was not even a slight mud covering its shell, he could even tell that it was just being laid not long ago. He was just thankful that he found the traces of the Black Totem Snake leaving its nest. It was the traces that were unlikely to be found by others. With the tracking skill that he was born with and the tracking skill itself that was further developed after becoming a slave, he could be sure that it was not something that an ordinary awakener could have. As such, Dugo was certain as well that even the one chasing after him wouldn't know that the Black Totem Snake was not around. In any case, finding out that Black Totem Snake was not in its nest was a good thing for him. And finding the egg of the Black Totem Snake was much better. With it, he could finally have a counter-attack. Thinking about the berserk mode of the Black Totem Snake, Dugo could only smile inwardly. "I'm sorry Black Totem Snake, I will need the help of your little egg..." Dugo sighed in his heart as he hastily went to rob the egg. After getting ahold of it, he ran away quickly afraid that he would be caught. Of course, since his anti-tracking skill wasn't that great compared to his tracking skill, he still left some traces of him when he got out of the open area. Unless the other party was beyond stupid, then he would surely find his tracks. Just like that, when the one chasing him reached his distance near the open area not long after Dugo left, that someone saw the traces leading towards the beast's nest and the faint traces leading towards the other direction. And just like what Dugo had expected, that man chasing him really thought that he was misleading him to encounter the Black Totem Snake. With that in mind, that man avoided the beast's nest as he followed the faint traces left behind by Dugo. He circled the small open area and then found the other traces of Dugo at the other end of the small open area. It was the direction where Dugo had gone into. Not noticing anything strange, the man went after Dugo with his astonishing speed. With the speed he'd displayed, it was evident that it was twice if not thrice the speed that Dugo had. Naturally, just like always, the man encountered few angered beasts along the way from time to time delaying him quite a while. Although those beasts weren't a threat to him, he found it quite annoying. If he didn't encounter those angered beasts that were obviously provoked by Dugo, he was more than certain that he had already caught up with him. But there was nothing that he could do. He knew that that brat wouldn't let himself be caught so easily. Knowing that Dugo had peculiar capabilities while having plenty of cunning tricks to deal with something that he couldn't, the man didn't dare underestimate him. Especially when he finally experienced himself the slyness of that brat. It was just a pity that that brat was so unfortunate to be one of those unlucky Forsaken Ones who wasn't fated to wield any kind of energy. Or else, he would be favored by their master as his standing in his eyes would also skyrocket. But since the case was that Dugo was a Forsaken One, his value in the eyes of their master had decreased greatly. Although he was way talented right now, without having any kind of energy, his future and strength were just like that, incapable of improving. It was something that their master wouldn't waste his time and resources into. With that in mind, and after finishing off the last beast obstructing his path, the man intended to continue and follow the tracks of Dugo. But at that moment as well, after taking a few steps to follow Dugo's tracks, he would just find out that it would end in the middle of nowhere. He only had one thought in mind: he had lost tracks of Dugo! The man had a darkened expression. He wanted to run frenziedly in search of Dugo but upon recalling the other party's slyness, he couldn't help but smile. For he knew well that Dugo hadn't gone far away as he was just hiding nearby. With that in mind, the man had calmed down. After a moment, he opened his mouth and then shouted, "Little brother Dugo! Where are you hiding? Come out already and play with big brother here."
