Begging To Be Killed

1100 Words
“What a good harvest...” Dugo Zugath muttered as he walked towards the corpses in the area. He went to the nearest corpse as he finally halted his steps and stood before it. Seeing the corpse now, Dugo Zugath's eyebrows knitted. He could see how horrible the death of that person was. His skin turned dark and dry. It really was as if his blood or the water of his body were sucked out. He became thin and looked as if old. This was really a horrible death no matter from which angle he saw it. If he was to die, Dugo Zugath even wished that it wasn't something like this. “!” Suddenly, the tightly closed eyes of the corpse before Dugo Zugath opened, taking him by surprise. He instinctively took two steps backward to put some distance from the person that he thought was a corpse as he fixed his gaze at it. “You are still alive?” Dugo Zugath asked after putting some distance away. He was surprised to see someone still alive from that state. This guy must have a strong will to still be living right now. But then, although Dugo Zugath assumed like that, he also had other thoughts in mind. He narrowed his eyes slightly as he watched the other party with caution. Was this corpse being reanimated? Was he being controlled and became an undead? That would be troublesome if that was the case. And if it really was it, he should run away right now as far away as possible before all the corpses in the area started rising. Dugo Zugath couldn't care less about whatever things he could gain from the corpses in the area. If these people were to become undead and kill him instead, then what use were those treasures and possessions were? “H..h..h...el......p...” Just as Dugo was intending to run away, he suddenly saw the "undead" opening its mouth and was saying such a word with great difficulty and in a hoarse voice. The thought of Dugo leaving the area was delayed as he watched the undead warily. Or perhaps, that guy wasn't really an undead as Dugo was just overthinking things. “H...e..lp.....m..me...” “...” Dugo Zugath didn't take any action as he continued to just watch the other party instead. But... Was this guy asking for help now? Was this for real or a trap to lure him closer? Rather than not taking any action, it was more likely that Dugo didn't know what to do. He was afraid that if he helped the other party, he might only bring harm to himself. And also, what if he really went to help the other party? What could he even do to save him? Dugo Zugath knew well that he couldn't do anything to save that guy from that condition. At most, he could only watch him dying from the distance while sighing deeply in pity. Or perhaps, he could end the other party's life to finally end his suffering. Right, he could do that! Since the other party asked for help, he should at least fulfill his request, right? He would appear to be a bad guy if he ignored the other party's last wish. Thinking about it, Dugo Zugath nodded in agreement with his thought. He shifted his gaze at the short sword near the hand of that person as he intended to pick it up. However, before he could even do anything, the man spoke again with great difficulty using his hoarse voice. “P...le..a...se......K...k..k...i.l....l......m...me...” Dugo Zugath was taken aback after he heard the other party. This guy was really asking for it? At that moment, Dugo Zugath really felt pity towards him. He was even hesitating if he should really kill him right now. But seeing him now again, Dugo could understand why did the other party ask for it. That guy must now be suffering a life worse than death that he was now asking to be killed instead. “Tsk!” Dugo Zugath clicked his tongue as he stepped forwards before crouching down. He picked the short sword beside the other party as he held it in his hand before standing up again. Dugo Zugath cast a glance at the blade of the sword as he saw his reflection from it. A moment later, he turned to look at the other party as his eyes emitted a faint luster. Killing a person wasn't new to him. And in fact, he had already killed a few individuals in the past after becoming a slave. But of course, he was only forced to do it for his master's sake as well as for his own survival. “P...le...a..se...m.a..ke....it...f.as..t.” Dugo Zugath heard again the other party speaking as his eyes had even turned a little watery upon hearing him. He couldn't help thinking how cruel that demon really was. Although he didn't know that person before him, as a fellow human being, he naturally would feel sympathetic. “As you wish.” Dugo Zugath replied in a cold voice. His eyes were as cold as he removed all his feelings. He didn't take any more delay as he finally brandished his sword at the neck of the other party. Swoosh! The other party's head then finally parted his body. But it appeared that his death was much relieving as there was even a slight smile on his lips before he finally breathed his last. Meanwhile, Dugo Zugath who had now a darkened expression had his grip on the sword tightening. At that moment, he even felt bad if he would rob the things of the people around him. “Please...k..k..ki...ll.....me...e...as...we.l...l...” But then, before Dugo could get even more emotional, he suddenly heard another voice asking to be killed. Not only that, just after he heard that voice, there was another that followed suit asking for the same thing. And then it went on and on as lots of “begging to be killed” echoed in the area. Dugo Zugath on the other hand found his heart tightening. He didn't even need to turn around as he could tell that all the bodies that he thought as corpses in the area were now all begging to be killed. “Damn it...” And Dugo could only curse in a low voice. He gripped his sword a bit harder as he was even asking himself if he really should fulfill their last wishes.
