Old Man

“So what do you say?” Sael Anselmo forced a smile as he asked. He laughed at the other party when he saw him panicking because of the little issue. He even thought that he had no stable state of mind. But now, when he informed him about the top powers in Kalayaan village, he remained calm and had a composed mind? Sael couldn't help thinking that the other party's mind was surely hard to read. “That Old Beggar you mentioned is interesting.” Dugo Zugath replied calmly. If his guess was correct, that old man was probably protecting the weaklings and the oppressed by disguising as one of them. Although his guess might be wrong, it was still the fact that that Old Beggar had helped many homeless people from oppressors because of him disguising himself as one of them. “You think so too?” Sael Anselmo smiled as he expected to hear those words from Dugo. After all, even he himself admired the Old Beggar. He wasn't abusing his strength like the Guevarra family as he wasn't blinded by fame nor power. “You seemed to admire him well huh,” Dugo Zugath said as he smiled at him slightly. He could see in his eyes the respect he had from the Old Beggar. It was as if they knew each other personally and had some connections. Of course, Dugo Zugath didn't ask about it as he only thought that he only had wild guesses. “Of course,” Sael Anselmo replied. He didn't say anything much though. He looked at Dugo intently as he asked with a smile, “So, what now? Shall we stroll the village first?” “That's also not a bad idea.” Dugo Zugath replied with a smile. He shifted his gaze to Elissa Ashton as he found her sweeping the floor. His smile widened a bit as he said, “Big sister, we're leaving now. Take care of yourself.” Elissa smiled at him as well as she replied with her sweet voice, “Take care of yourselves as well.” After hearing the reply, Dugo Zugath turned around. He then pulled open the door as the noise of the bustling surroundings immediately greeted him. He didn't delay any more time as he stepped out of the house. Sael Anselmo also turned to look at Elissa Ashton as he said with a smile, “We'll be right back aunty. After we find the Portia, I will find you a boyfriend next time.” “Shut up and get out of here!” Elissa suddenly turned furious as she throw the sweeper at Sael. But before the sweeper reached Sael Anselmo, he reacted quickly as he hurriedly went out of the house and slammed the door close. The sweeper hit the door instead as Sael has successfully dodged the sudden attack this time. After leaving out the house, he heaved a sigh of relief as he looked for Dugo Zugath and went beside him. Shortly after, he opened his mouth and asked, “Where do you want to go? There are many interesting places here.” “Anywhere is fine, as long as we don't meet any trouble.” Dugo Zugath replied. “Oh? How about we go to the western market? There's a lot of strange items there. Most of them are found in Purple Mist Forest. Although not everything is good, there are a few that can be rare treasures. If we are lucky, we may also gain a hefty sum there.” “Let's go in there then,” Dugo Zugath replied nonchalantly as if it really didn't matter to him where they go. “Alright, it's decided.” Sael Anselmo responded as he led the way and went in the left direction of the street. Taking a few steps forward, he added, “I also want to sell a few items in there.” “You mean, the things you robbed from the previous group you joined in?” Dugo Zugath joked around as he followed suit. “Don't be like that Dugo. Rather than robbing them, it's more like I am taking care of the things they left behind.” Sael Anselmo retorted. “If you say so,” Dugo Zugath didn't argue as he smiled slightly. The two of them then walked unhurriedly in the street as they talked about small things along the way. To Dugo Zugath's surprise, no one really obstructed their way to cause trouble to them. He could even see that most people they walked past were busy doing their things and were just ignoring them. *** Meanwhile... “What a dangerous kid. Even his presence alone could give me chills.” An old man sitting in front of a table spoke with his hoarse voice. His eyes emitted a faint luster as he found it hard to believe what he had just seen. “Is he really that dangerous?” A sweet voice of a woman replied as she continued, “I don't think so though.” Surprisingly, the one who had just spoken was Elissa Ashton. She was now walking towards the old man, bringing a bowl of rice soup. As soon as she arrived, she put the bowl of rice soup on the table in front of the old man as her smile didn't leave her lips. “That kid himself is harmless. But there is something within him that this old man cannot understand making this old man a bit terrified.” The old man replied. He received the bowl of rice soup and took a spoon of it. “Oh? Too bad for me, I can't sense anything.” Elissa Ashton chuckled softly as she sat on the chair on the other side of the table where the old man was seated. “Hoho, don’t blame yourself, princess, I'm afraid that there are only a few individuals in the entire kingdom who can sense the abnormality from that kid.” The old man laughed dryly as he said. After a moment of pause, he continued, “Just where did you find that kid anyway?” Surprisingly, the old man called Elissa a princess as it appeared that they had some special connection with each other.
