CHAPTER 4
Azaria was finally able to train again after a long period of recuperation. She was as eager as if it were the first day of training all over again.
“welcome back recruit; how are you feeling? Are you up for today’s training event?
“I’m ok and yes I’m ready”
Today, the recruits are taking part in practice matches. Everyone was looking around with bated breath. It was a thrilling event that got everyone's heart racing. Some are eager to see how far they have progressed, while others simply want to compete to see who is the best.
“Azaria and Nkosi you two are up first”
Both of them stepped up and at that moment they didn’t see each other as friends but as opponents. They bowed to each other as a sign of respect before fighting. Azaria started with a ruthless roundhouse kick that rattled Nkosi’s skull. He starts to fall until Nkosi used his other foot and slams it into Azaria’s rib cage. Back and forth they go exchanging blows left leg right leg Azaria was lifting Nkosi with each kick and forcing him to remain standing. Nkosi came back by wrapping his arms around Azaria’s head and holds her up as he thrusting wicked knee shots into her ribs. Pain explodes in Azaria’s chest as her ribs begin to snap. Azaria taps into Nkosi’s midsection with so much force and power that it drives him through the tree that was behind him. Nkosi body flops with a wet fleshy THUD onto the ground.
“Enough! Medic!
The medical staff came and carried Nkosi off to the Clinic inside the castle. Azaria chose to walk to the medical clinic.
“Azaria! Not bad for your first day back”
“Thanks”
When the King and Queen learned about Azaria's practice match with Nkosi, they both rushed to the clinic.
“Are are you ok?”
“I’m fine mom; you should see Nkosi, he’s in worse shape than me”
“That’s my little phoenix”
The Queen gave him the meanest look she could muster. If appearances could kill, the king would be in big trouble.
“Anyways I’m glad you are ok”
“Yes what your mother said”
“Now that we know you’re ok we are going to go check on Nkosi we love you”
“love you too”
Azaria passed by the pearl temple after she had been bandaged and was able to leave the medical center, when something struck her. She shrugged her shoulders and walked away after turning back and glancing at the pearl temple for a bit. Suddenly, she was hit with a severe headache, followed by sights that were all mixed up. Azaria couldn't figure out what was going on. She then walked over to the pearl temple and pasted out in front of it.
Azaria awoke feeling dizzy, disoriented, and a little anxious a few hours later. Queen Nova embraced Azaria and held her tightly to reassure her that she was safe and that everything would be fine.
“Where am I?”
“You are back in the Medical center.”
Azaria has little recollection of what happened, but she tells her mother that as soon as she walked past the pearl temple, she began having visions and seeing pictures of some sort of event that had happened to her. Unfortunately, she was unable to discern what the visions were attempting to show her. The queen was concerned because Azaria's memories were beginning to return, and they were returning faster than she had anticipated. So Queen Nova told Azaria to lie down so she could help her calm her mind, but what she actually did was cast a spell to block off the memories again because it was too soon for her to know what truly happened.
When Azaria's mind had calmed down, she assured her mother that she was OK and that she was going to check on Nkosi since she was here. That sounded like an excellent plan to Queen Nova, so she left the medical center to attend to some business around the castle.
Azaria walked over to Nkosi “Hey you, how are you feeling?”
“I’m fine just a lot banged up from our practice match”
“Yeah I’m sorry about that I went over board”
“Don’t apologize for being strong I just need to get stronger because how can I protect you if you can beat me”
The nurse walks into change Nkosi’s bandages when Azaria intercepted the nurse for she wants to change the bandages. She feels bad for humiliating him in their practice match, so she simply wants to assist.
“Don’t worry nurse I’ll change his bandages”
“Are you sure your highness?”
Azaria nods her head yes. So the nurse hands Azaria the bandages and left the room to give them some privacy.
“Do you even know how to change bandages properly?”
“No but there’s a first time for everything”
“Ahh Hell”
“Now hold still so I wont hurt you”
Meanwhile the queen ran to go find the king to tell him what happened with Azaria.
“My love Azaria’s memories are starting to come back”
“Ok good”
“No not good its to soon her bracelet is still gold not copper”
“Ok so what should we do them since this was your idea to hide it from her”
“I already casted a blocking spell to repress her memories again”
“Ok well the your work is done so if excuse me I have work to do”
The king was still mad at Queen Nova for lying to Azaria and going to great length to hide it from her.
“Fine!”
Azaria had just finished changing Nkosi's bandages, and let's just say she could have done a better job. She bandaged not only the wounds, but also the parts of the body that were not injured. Making him resemble a Mummy.
“I think I over did it”
“You think?”
“I’m sorry I was only trying to help”
"And I appreciate you, but let's just let the nurse do her job because she's the trained one."
They both laughed, and Azaria said her goodbyes before departing so Nkosi can get some rest.
“I’ll come visit tomorrow”
“I cant wait”
Azaria was on her way back to her room to relax when she noticed her father heading quickly somewhere and decided to follow him. She notices that he has received a letter from a carrier. Wondering what it is, Azaria moves closer to hear what is being read but is unable to, so the king hides the letter in the inner lining of his coat pocket.
“What are you up too dad?” she whispers to herself.
