CHAPTER 3 In a rush to get the princess into her bed, the king returned to the temple to look after Nkosi, while the queen stayed with Azaria. Because her body is not developed enough to handle such a large volume of magic flowing through her at the same time. It has put the princess in a coma-like state for the past three days. The queen's doctors tried everything they could to help. “We can't do anything else for her; she simply has to rest to recover.” The queen was pacing back and forth and biting her nails, clearly concerned about Azaria's recovery. Waiting was not her strong suit, but she accepted that she had little choice but to follow the doctor's advice. “Yes doctor and thank you” Even though the queen agreed to follow the doctors' advice, she was not convinced. So she came up with another concept that she thought would be beneficial to Azaria. The queen dashed to Sahar Zahundai's pearl shrine for assistance and direction, but most importantly, answers. Queen Nova took the pearl stone amulet and sat in the Burmese pose, chanting a prayer to the great goddess Sahar. Sahar Zahundai had to emerge after hearing the queen's prayer since her emotions were so strong. She appeared and spoke with Queen Nova. “What is wrong my child why so melancholy?” “Why are you approaching Azaria now? Isn't it possible that she isn't ready for your level of strength right now?” “Do you really have no idea?” The Queen was confused at what the goddess Sahar was getting at when she asked do you really have no idea. All she knew is that she needed answers. “I didn't choose to present myself, but the strength of the child drew me to her. I didn't offer her my power; instead, she absorbed it. She was looking for me, whether she realized it or not.” When Sahar told the queen all of this, she was taken aback. She had no idea how to process all of the information that just been given to her. “Does she really have that much power?” “Yes, and she will be in continual danger as a result of that, and I see a sliver of my brother in her. But don't worry, all children will have it when they reach adulthood; as long as you continue to raise her as you have, she will be OK. I have to leave; I can't stay here any longer but here is a bracelet that will turn copper letting you know that her body is enough to handle the kind of power she has”. After giving the queen the bracelet and the warning, Sahar vanished. After returning to Azaria bedside Queen Nova slipped the gold bracelet on her wrist. A week has gone by and Azaria's eyes gradually fluttered opened. She looked around her room and noticed the king and queen soundly sleeping close to her bed. The king and queen open their eyes to see that Azaria finally awaken from her coma like sleep. “Azaria, oh my goodness You've finally woken up. We were terrified that you wouldn't wake up.” They clung to her like their life dependent on it and didn’t want to let go for their hearts were over joyed with happiness and relief that she was going to be ok. “do you remember anything that happened?” “I'm not sure what happened. What was the duration of my absence?” "You struck your head extremely hard from training," the queen intervened as the king was ready to tell Azaria the truth. You become overly enthusiastic and confident in your innate abilities." The king stared at his queen with bewilderment, fear, and fury because they never lie to their daughter for any reason, and as a result, he rushed out to get some fresh air, kissing and hugging Azaria one more before leaving. Azaria was in shock that she was a sleep for a week’s time. She didn’t know how to take the news of that so she just sat there staring off into space. The queen snapped her fingers multiple times to get her attention and to bring her back down to reality when she finally came to. “Sorry mother I was just in shock is all. I did not me to show disrespect to you with my reaction.” “Well you are forgiven now get some rest. In two days, the doctor will come to give you a thorough examination. You won't be leaving this room until the doctors say you're clear.” Azaria sat down on her bed, disappointed and angry that she would have to stay in her room for another two days. The moonlight shines down on Azaria's bedroom window as night sets, and she sits in front of her fireplace. When she hears a rock thrown at her glass. She goes up to her window to see who is outside and sees Nkosi down below. When Azaria first saw Nkosi, a since of relief came over her. “Stop throwing pebbles at my window; I'm already here.” “oh sorry! How are you feeling?!” “I'm fine, but I'm bored and restless. So, why are you leering at my window? Is there a problem with my front door?” “The queen has instructed the guards not to let anybody into your room except the doctor, one maid, and the king and queen.” Azaria shacks her head in annoyance at her mothers' overprotective behavior. Not wanting Nkosi to stand out there all night Azaria was hunting around her room for a rope when she came upon her bed sheets. Azaria used her sheets, linens, and even the comforter and made a chain-like rope for Nkosi to climb up to her room with. “Thanks but it did take you forever” Azaria just rolled her eyes and shook her head with a slight giggle. “So why are you being so reckless tonight?” “To give this to you.” Nkosi presents Azaria with the world's rarest flower, which blooms just once every five years and exclusively on their country's territories. Azaria's favorite flower is called the rainbow moon flower. She hugged him so tightly since he had made her day with that present. Nkosi blushed a little and took a step back to break off the hug. Azaria looked at Nkosi with confusion for she was still stuck on the break away from her hugging him but she didn’t press it. “Well I better get going. Feel better and see you at training once the doctors say its ok of course.” Nkosi leaped out the window, landed in some bushes, and waved goodbye before leaving. “He is such a great friend.” As she was staring up at the full moon holding the rainbow moon flower that he gave her to help her feel better. Next day the maid knocked before entering the princess’s room to tidy up and help the princess get ready for the doctor that is visiting. She pulled the curtains back letting in the blazing sun shine through and on to Azaria’s face waking her up in the most aggressive way. “Your highness its time to wake up you have a big day today.” “Yes the doctor will be arriving soon to give me a clean bill of health. I finally get out of my room because I fell so trapped in here.” The maid was barely listening for she was to busy cleaning up and picking out clothes for the princess. Normally there would be more than just one maid doing everything however when the queen made it clear she don’t want a lot of people coming into the princess’s room. “Yes your highness” Azaria looked at the maid with such humorous confusion because she knew she wasn’t listening but she wasn’t about to bust her chops about it because she here by herself so she let it slide. Next the queen, king, and the doctor walked in to get started with the exam. “Azaria I would like to introduce to you Dr. Kell she will be doing your full exam. And now I must go because I have a meeting but please let me know how it went and what your findings are” Once the doctor was introduced the king had stepped out so the exam can begin. The doctor started by checking Azaria’s vital signs. She also gave the princess a stress test, x-rays, CT scan and even MRI. Everything came back normal then she tested her magic stability and that was off the charts but not to the point its red level yet. After all the test Azaria was given the clean bill of health. After the exam was completed and signed off the queen went looking for the king for she knew he had no meetings today and found him in the flower garden. He would go there sometimes to think when upset. In this case he was upset with his queen. “I see that you are upset and I’m guessing you’re upset with me. Want to talk about it?” “I am upset with because the one rule for us on our wedding day we vowed we never lie to our family about anything because honesty is what keeps us safe. So why did you lie to our baby girl?” The queen explained everything from how Sahar Zahundai told her to take Azaria’s memories away of that day and fill in the blanks when she asks what happened. To telling the king how she is unstable so Sahar gave the queen a bracelet to suppress some of that magic. Her magic has matured before she did and her body cant handle that amount of power. With the knowledge of that power can over whelm any person. She could even reject it and which will cause great riffs between herself. If she has another episode like that again not only will she disappear but she will take everything with her. The king was stunned at this information his wife just told him; however he still believes that the truth is better than the lie. “ok my love but I still think we should tell her the truth.” “We will once her bracelet turns completely copper. That’s our signal that she is perfectly in sync with her powers and that she has control over them. And we will tell her the truth” As the Queen was leaving she turned around and said to the King “oh and my love I’m pregnant”
