Chapter 14

Azaria POV Shaking my head trying to retain my vision I see on my right Naliyah and our other guard in the same cage as we are. Where are we? What is this place? As I'm looking around a middle-aged man comes up to the cage looking at me with interest in his eyes. Another man that looks to be the leader the one in charge came from behind and spoke to me in a language I was not familiar with. I understood certain pieces of what he was trying to communicate but not a lot. Darn it I should've paid more attention in language sessions with dad. When I get out here, I'm going to be doing a lot of studying. "I'm sorry I don't quite understand what you are saying to me?" I explained slowly as possible They look at each other before turning back to me. "Who are you?" The man asked "My name is princess Azaria of the kingdom Demenia" I responded More people came as I was introducing myself and when I said my name and title, they all looked shock and in disbelief. "How do we know you are who you say you are?" The man asked with suspicion in his tone "My father is King Hashu" I shouted he looked unimpressed because everyone knows the king. "I'm the welder of the Amulet" I said while holding the Amulet up with desperation plastered on my face. The leader looked at it with wonder and amazement. "How did you get this" he asked "It was passed down to me from my mother for I'm the eldest daughter of Queen Nova" I explained They knew I wasn't lying for no one just take the Amulet it can only be passed down through the bloodline of the first-born daughter. Once they saw I was telling truth a familiar voice came from the back of the crowd telling them to set us free. Once we out the cages that's when Salem our guide came through the crowd and stop right in front of me with apologetic look on his face. I punched him dead in his nose. Then I just folded my arm and glared at him while he tries to stop the bleeding and regain his footing as he attempts to stand back up. While one of them attend to his semi broken nose, I was giving him a glare that would burn a hole through your brain. Once all fixed up, he bowed to us, but I was still unimpressed. "Please forgive me for how we treated you and let me take you to my father the leader of our tribe" he requested I was shocked I thought that one guy that was questioning me hard was the leader, but I guess not. After processing those realizations of who’s who. I quietly nodded my head to his request, and he took my hand to lead the way while everyone else followed. As we were walking, I can feel Salem holding my hand gently and a little to long for my comfort. I can feel Alonza staring holes into the guy as he increased his walking speed snatching my hand into his telling Salem to keep showing us the way without touching me. I just shook my and laughed a little because it was cute how Prince Alonza was acting right now. Once we arrived at a dining hall, I can see Salem's father sitting at the head of the table. He immediately stood from his chair and greeted us motioning us to sit at the table. Once we all finally sat down, he saw that his son was not in the best of shape and even though he wanted to ask just by looking at him I could tell he truly wanted to know what happened; however, he didn’t press the issue on that. "I'm sorry for how my kin treated you but we have to be careful, for we are the Guardians of the scroll for our goddess Sahar" he explained as servants were serving us the first course dish of beef stew soup. "So, you are little Azaria and little Naliyah?" He asked Naliyah and I looked at each other wondering how he knows who we are. Once he saw we were feeling nervous and a little weary he cleared his throat to correct his poor choice of words. "The reason I know is because my name is Shein Rivers I'm your father's best friend" he explained After really looking at his face it just clicked that he was the man in dad's photo album that he showed us when we were little. "Wait your uncle Shein?" We asked in shock of the realization. Shein chuckled and nodded his head "That's cute and all but if you are the Guardians of the scroll like you said, then where is it and when can we get it from you so we can go back" Alonza ask with irritation and annoyance in his words. I just gave him the deadliest glare. If looks could kill, he would be 8ft under right now like how rude which is weird. I've never known him to be rude but then we had just gone through a lot, so I'll let him slide for now. "I understand and here it is for I don't want to keep you for too long we will catch up soon when I make one of my surprise visits to see your father" he assured us before handing us the scroll. Wow this feels powerful and full of knowledge that would blow anyone's mind if not the welder of the Amulet. I looked over at Prince Alonza and the way he was looking at the scroll was a bit unnatural and creepy a little. Once he saw I was looking at him he gave me a charming smile with a wink then looked away. I thanked my Uncle Shein, and we all were gathering ourselves to head back to our hotel to leave for the kingdom first thing the morning. Salem led us out and he gave me a long hug when I felt Alonza arms wrap around me glaring at Salem. Salem just brushed him off and waved goodbye to us as we got into our car making it back to our rooms. "Naliyah are you up?" I asked her "Now I am what do you want? She groaned out "Do you think something is wrong with Alonza like he seems different?" I stated with a little worry lacing my voice "No, it's all in your head. He is fine he just didn't like falling through the floor, being in a cage like an animal, and clearly our so-called guide was hitting on you, and he didn't like that either." She reminded me I just nodded in agreement, and she fell back to sleep like she took 4 sleeping pills. But what she didn't see was that darkness coming from him and that room we were in. But then again what we experienced would make me cranky in a way to I will just let it go for now because I feel like I'm over thinking about it, and I just need some rest and recharge. After we woke up and packed up, we got into our rental car and made it to back to our private jet and headed back home. While sitting by the window staring at the sky Alonza came and sat next to me. I looked into his warm eyes, and he gave soft peck on the lips and laid his head on my lap to take quick nap before arriving home. I wonder how Nkosi is doing on his new adventure. I hope he is safe and is doing well, maybe once we get settled back at home will write him a letter, I know that Gail’s assistant instructor would know where they are located, or I can just wait till he writes first will see when we get back.
