Contractual Love

Chapter 3

Assistant Wei Lin's POV

The Young Master is under immense pressure to wed, although he seems to have no interest in a sincere relationship. So, he decided to procure a contractual marriage through other means. Granted, she must meet strict criteria, as she will be representing the great Ying family. As the most powerful family in the region, it is imperative that certain guidelines are in place. When we acquired the Young Mistress, it was the middle of the night and rather rushed. We came across a brothel head speaking of someone selling their daughter's purity with unmatched beauty while meeting one of the Young Master's friends. This is the first time I have even laid eyes on her face in the light. Shu Yan said she was an unsightful thing and was ready to be rid of her, but that contradicted the brothel head's observations. Looking at her now, curled into a ball on the hospital bed, she could not have been more wrong. Her beauty is definitely deserving of my Young Master. As long as she is pure, that is.

Unknown: The doctor will be examining her now.

Shu Yan: Very well. Do as you please, but do not feel obligated to contact me further.

Unknown: Understood, as long as everything checks out.

"Doctor."

"Hello, Assistant Wei.", he greeted me with a smile.

"Right this way. This is the Young Mistress to be. Please continue with a premarital exam."

"Very well."

I stepped outside and stood at the door while he completed the examination. Only when I heard a knock from within the room, did I move to the side.

"She did not lie. She is indeed still pure."

"Very well. Any thoughts as to why she has yet to wake up?"

"I had the same thought. She didn't even stir during her examination, which is a rather uncomfortable procedure. I will run some tests."

I nodded and took my place at the door, even though this is the Young Master's private wing of the hospital. I was instructed to guard her during the process. Then, confront her with the proposal set forth. With the information gathered on the Yin family financial situation, it would definitely be difficult to refuse his wishes.

Wei Lin: She has passed the pre-marital screening, Young Master.

Young Master: Very well. Move forth with the contract.

After a few hours, nurses arrived with the doctor to administer medication that they assured me would wake her within moments. So, I went to take the seat next to the bed with the folder in hand as I observed them. The Doctor slowly measured a cold liquid in a syringe as the nurse held the I.V. firmly in place as he slowly pushed it through. Once they were finished, they took their leave. Leaving just me and Ai to talk. After a few minutes, she started to stir, stretching with a yawn, before looking around at her surroundings. Once her eyes met mine, She physically jumped backwards on the bed. Her eyes widened as she looked around at her surroundings.

"Please, Young Mistress, do not feel alarmed.", I attempted to reassure her.

"Where am I? Who are you?"

"I am Wei Lin, assistant to Young Master Ying.", she gasped at my words, but I continued,"We entered an agreement with Shu Yan regarding you. With that being said, we have an offer for you."

"An agreement with my step-mother? An offer?"

"Yes, an offer to help save your father's company if you agree to marry Young Master Ying, becoming the Young Mistress of the Ying family."

"He doesn't even know me. My family is no match."

"It does not matter. Do you wish to accept?"

"My Ba's company is in trouble? Will you really help him?", she said, looking rather unsettled.

"Yes."

"Okay, for my Ba."

I laid out the contract, explaining each clause and that she would be free to dissolve the marriage after two years. She nodded, but never said a word. Just initialed and signed without question. The doctor informed me that she had been drugged prior to being brought to the hospital, leading me to believe that she did not even know of the arrangement she was being thrown into. Although, to Shu Yan's knowledge, however, she was selling her into a life of servitude to a brothel not far from here. After we finished all of the paper work dealing with the conditions of the marriage, I placed the marriage certificate before her. She signed without even the slightest hint of hesitation. I nodded and placed them all back inside the folder.

"They will be bringing in your meal shortly. As well as a change of clothes. Once the doctor assures us that the sleeping medication Shu had given you is safely gone, I will drive you to your villa in the Eastern mountains. Once we are there, I will give you a tour. Then I will take notes of any changes you would like made to the villa, I will give you your new cell phone, and take notes of your clothes measurements for your new wardrobe."

Staring out the window unfazed by anything occurring, she just merely nodded. I announced my departure as I headed to the door. After getting another guard to take my place, I took my leave.

Wei Lin: She has passed the screening, as well as, accepted all terms and signed. I am going to file them as we speak.

Young Master: Very well, see to it then.

Wei Lin: As you wish.

Part of me feels bad for the Young Mistress. The Young Master is adamant that the marriage be purely paper and occasional public appearances. That will stave off the rumors surrounding his preference and as to why he does not have a girlfriend or wife. Well, until now that is. Once she is settled in the villa, they will make a public appearance at one of our local restaurants, where it will "accidentally" be leaked to the press. Upon the uproar, it will be addressed by the Young Master's PR representative, who will confirm that he has wed. The story will be that they wished to keep their relationship a secret from the prying eyes of the public so they could get to know one another, where they fell in love and privately wed shortly thereafter. It is a vague story, far from the truth. As the most eligible bachelor of Chonqing, it is certain to cause a rather big uproar from women hoping to hook him.
