Aiyana James's beginning

786 Words
It had been 10 long years since the smallest, the newborn had been left on the doorstep of James's household. From being the young baby she was now 3'2, 9 years old and she was one the most beautiful children in the small town of monteclair. Aiyana James was a pale skinned little girl with pretty pink lips, light rosy cheeks and big bright green emerald eyes like her mother. Her hair was shoulder-length dark brown, a few flecks of light brown here and there. She had a pretty, clear smile and a small, thin figure. It was a day like any other, Ana was at home at the dining table eating her lunch which consisted of a steak sandwich. It was weird for a 9-year-old to eat a whole stake cut in 4 down the middle and long ways to make it thinner for a sandwich. It was also rather..rare. It had soaked the first layer of bread in red, fresh blood. This was why she was so strange, she loved it. She couldn't help but devour it. Her father always thought her weird for it but he loved her all the same. She was light in a world of darkness for the family. Her mother Clair had left about a half-hour ago to retrieve Clay, her brother from soccer practice.  Ana and her brother Clay were very close. Clay was only 4 when Ana was found on the doorstep, now at 12, he was growing to be quite a gentlemen. He bonded with Ana instantly. He'd run around the house shouting "Pretty baby! Pretty baby mommy!" it overjoyed Clair and derrick that their son was so warming to the infant. Their bond was still there to this day. That's why Ana was clock watching, waiting for Clay to come home so he could teach her how to play. Her father walked in just as she finished and she gave him a toothy smile. "I'm done, Daddy!" The smallest voice would squeak from her position. Derrick would glance her way as he washed his hands and nodded in approval. "Good girl Ana, Another empty plate. Where does all that food go." The male would say before creeping over to her. "It cant be in...Here!" he would shout before he started tickling the little girl's sides making her squeal and laugh. That's when the door would knock and they both quietened down for a moment to see if they could hear Clair or clay. No voices. Her father frowned and straightened. "That's strange." he would say before he was about to resume tickling his daughter. Just as his fingers were about to make contact a louder knock could be heard. "For goodness sake." he would mutter under his breath. "Ana will you go wash your hands and face please, ill only be a moment." Ana would push back from the table, hop off the rather large chair and run up the stairs to the bathroom to do as she was told. She could hear her father talking about angels and church. So Ana assumed it was from the local church and shrugged it off. She heard them leave shortly after and smiled hopping down the stairs. It wasn't long after when Clay and their mother walked in with a sigh carrying clays large duffle bag of equipment. "I'm home honey!" she shouted. "Mommy!" The little girl would squeal. "Ana dear." The woman would say with delight. The woman would embrace the little girl as she flew at her, hugging her ever so tightly. When they had finished hugging it was clay's turn. As he turns to face the nippy little human she pounced. "Clay bear!" she would giggle hugging him. "Hey there Anabee" he'd reply squeezing her in a tight hug. "I have to go to Dylan's to do a project we're working on for school, but we can play all day tomorrow?" he would say pulling back to look down at the little girl. "Okay! I'm still gonna kick your butt!" she said laughing. Clay shook his head smiling. "If you do, its because I taught you." he would say still one up-ing her.  Ana would playfully roll her eyes and nodded. "Okay, promise?" she asked raising her cute barely noticeable brow. Clay nodded before he vanished to change out of his kit and run off to Dylan's house which was half a mile over. He would take the pushbike anyway. Clair would look at the clock and shake her head. "Ana, dear, its time to prepare for bed." The little girl would nod and run to each of her parents, kissing their cheeks lightly. Little did she know it would be the last time she'd see her family again.
