Chapter 6

Adrian's POV

I mind-linked Josh one of my warriors and instructed him to take them back to the pack house and guard them until I get there.

Josh is good, he is one of my strongest and my most loyal and I watched how he led my other warriors, he was almost as good as gamma David, but he had one thing that held him back his temper.

Alpha

his voice came through the mind link

what is it, Josh

Just letting you they are at the pack house and Kyra is furious she was going to take the other girl back to her place.

I don't care! you are to protect my mate until I get there!

Your mate? he questioned

I didn't answer him I just walked down the little hallway and looked at her small bathroom which had a walk-in shower, and a small sink with a small cupboard underneath, she had put up a couple of shelves one for towels and one for her lotions and stuff.

Turning around we went back through her living room and entered her kitchen where we found a frying pan that still had some food left in it, but we were unsure what it was exactly, there was a plate, cup and fork in the sink.

But they didn't smell like her, this was the first time we actually got a scent off of a scene like this, we took note of the scent but I had doubts.

Why would they suddenly be so careless as to leave their scent behind?

I would need to speak to Kyra and my newly discovered mate and see what they know.

Jacob looked at me confused " I don't get it Aidrian; after all the abductions, why suddenly leave your scent behind?"

David called from the bedroom where he had stayed to see if he could something more" Hey, you need to come to see this."

Jacob and I walk back into the bedroom where David shows us a necklace that he had found by the widow, and the place it had fallen, if you weren't looking it would never be found.

It was a simple gold necklace with a tiny wolf pendant. The clasp was broken and looked like it had been ripped off her neck.

" I recognize that necklace I gave it to her for her sixteenth birthday," Jacob said quietly never taking his eyes from it. He was glaring at the piece of jewellery like it could tell him what he wanted to know.

"Bring it", was all I said as I turned on my heel and walked out of the room. I walked back through the living room and out the door.

The sun was just starting to set, reds, and golds were glowing in the sky. But I was in too much of a hurry to get to Shiann, I felt on edge, I knew something was wrong, but I didn't know why yet I was determined to find out and make sure that Shiann was safe.

Picking up my pace I rushed to the pack house, and when I burst through the door, I was relieved to see Shiann pacing in the main lobby waiting for me to return.

I rushed to her side and pulled her into my chest, and held her there, soon, I could feel her sobs and feel her tears on my chest.

" You are safe now, I won't let anyone hurt you," I told her placing a kiss on the top of her head.

Placing my thumb under her chin, I forced her head up to meet my eyes, and looking down into her green eyes, still shining with unshed tears, she met my gaze, and I tried to put all my emotion into my eyes for her to see.

I lowered my head a gently placed a kiss on her lips while my hands continued to rub circles on her back.

I could feel her relax a little. I raised my head and looked around, " where is Kyra" I growled.

She hung her head, she started shaking at the anger in my voice. Looking down at my little mate I put my thumb under her chin so she could meet my eyes.

" I....I.. d..don't...know" She stutters trying to get away from me I can see and feel her fear.

" Baby you are safe with me I will never hurt you," I tell her as I pull her to my chest and hold her gently, running my hand over her hair as my other rubs up and down on her back.

I can feel her calming down as my beta and gamma come in and look at us " Alpha can we talk in private please " beta Jacob asks.

I nod and look down at Shiann, and I rub my thumb over her cheek as she looks up at me with unshed tears still shining in her eyes.

"Stay here, baby I won't be long", and I let my hands drop from her as I turn and stride to my office with beta Jacob and gamma David trailing behind me.
