I'm a full grown adult and I can choose what I want without anyone ordering me around” Sally said furiously entering her room. She sat on her dressing table with bitterness written all over her face, and started talking to herself as if she was talking to someone. Despite all my dreams and aspirations that I had once shared with my father, why the sudden change? Why listen to that woman arranging me out in marriage to someone I didn't love or know. Though I understand we are passing through some challenges at the moment, there are better ways around it. Baton and I can go out and work to keep the family moving, he can just hold on with his schooling for now. Unknowingly to him that her stepmom had entered the room. She was shocked when she saw her. The stepmom responded angrily to her last statement. “ Don't even think a little of my son again. My son needs to face his schooling squarely, and much money is needed for that. After all I have done in raising you, all you could think is for my only child to go and work for the family, you are such a useless ingrate.” She hissed and walked out. Sally screamed and bursted into tears. She cried for a while and slept off. The following evening, they just finished having dinner, and Sally and kid brother were having conversations at the table. “ Sally the Majester University had given me admission. I can't believe it after all this while, I am a happy man right now” Baton said, proudly. “ See who's calling himself a man, you are just a kid brother boy” Sally said jokingly, but not smiling. “Aren't you happy for me?” Baton said, expectantly. “ Congratulations bro”, just keep being the good boy that you are, I'm proud of you” she said looking sleepily already. “ I noticed you haven't been lively recently, hope all is well” Baton asked, gently. “ Nothing bro, I'm fine,” Sally responded. “ Okay, just be fine, and if there's anything boarding you, be free to tell me, trust I will always get you back” he said warmly. She smiled, kissed his brother and went to her room. Few hours later, Mrs Bulletin went into her son's room to see if he's fine. She met him playing games on his phone. “ Hi son ! Hope you are doing fine?” she asked, “I'm fine” he responded. She rubbed his back and started to go, then she turned back. “ Your sister will be getting married soon to billionaire Derick” she said, rolling her eyes. “ what! No wonder she’s always moody these days, that's unfair and too much on her. That proud and wicked billionaire. Please, if it is a joke, stop it. My sister doesn't deserve that man”’ Baton said furiously. “Shut your mouth, what do you know about the young man? You are just a little boy trying to figure out life. ( He glances at Mother with surprise! ) Do you not see the situation in this house, don't you notice we will soon run down, we need help.” Mrs Bulletin said. “Mum, I have a suggestion, let me go and work under him for a year or more. He pays his stuff well, and with that, we will be back on our feet. My sister doesn't need to get married against her will.” Baton said, turning his eyes. “So you prefer to waste years of your life than furthering your studies, you must be very stupid.” “ Mom!” He shouted. “ Hold it there, you don't let anyone hear that nonsense you just spit out from your mouth. Your dad and I have decided, so just be good and think of going back to school” Mrs Bulletin groaned. “I don't know why you kids these days think the other way around, anyway, I'm done with this conversation, good night.” She added. “ God! This isn't good at all, no wonder she's always moody. Dear sister, I know you are strong, and you will get over it, I need to have some rest.” Baton said in a sleeping tone. About midnight Sally streams from her sleep, and everyone rushes to her room. “Sally what is the problem” Mrs Bulletin's voice. “ sister are you fine” kid brother. “Are you okay darling?” said her father. They met her planting heavily, after a while, “ nothing much, I will be fine, just a nightmare” Sally said. After a few minutes, everyone went back to their room. Mr Bulletin couldn't sleep well, this girl had been acting strange these days. Children these days can be funny at times, someone who should be happy she's getting married to one of the richest men in the world, she was there acting like an evil soul. There's nothing you do that will change the fact that you are getting married. You better accept that fate and dwell with it. I know it is a good choice for you, you will enjoy it at last. Her brother walked into her room the next morning, “ hi sister, good morning and what was the matter last night? You scared everyone last night”. Baton said “I had a nightmare that got me nervous, I saw Derick commanding me around and I got irritated, I don't know when I streamed. Only to open my eyes, and see everybody rushing to my room, I was scared too.” Sally said. “That is not far from what he will do in real life now, he's always full of himself, I just hate him. I don't know why Dad arrived at such a decision, that animal in human skin”. Sorry sister, you need to deal with everything and everyone with wisdom” Baton said. “Thank you little brother”, Sally responded. They hugged each other and he left, she headed to the bathroom to clean up. She heard the sound of the door from the bathroom, she shouted in fear “who's there?” But no responses.
