Michiel found the girls late the next morning when she brought them mini quiches for breakfast. They were passed out on the rug in the middle of Amy's floor, using books as pillows, and Michiel took a moment to reminisce about her youth, particularly the ability to sleep anywhere. She walked to the vanity and set the serving tray down hard enough to wake the girls.
Emily gasped and leaped to her feet, ready to fight or run. Amy yawned and stretched with her whole body before sitting up.
