CHAPTER1: AN UNUSUAL MEETING PART 2
CHAPTER 1 AN UNUSUAL MEETING. "Since when did I become a babysitter?" Lorrain was standing at the airport holding a white placard over his head that said 'PIERRE LANNISTER.' At the sight of who he was looking for, he smiled. "Father didn't tell me you would be the one to pick me up, Lorena." The young man left the box he was strolling in and Lorrain took hold of it. "It's Lorrain." Lorraine said through gritted teeth. "How many times will I correct you, Pierre?" "I don't know." Pierre shrugged his shoulders carelessly. "Tch!" Lorrain clicked his tongue. 'This flat-nosed piece of s**t is always rude' he thought. "Welcome home, young master." Masha said. She was dressed in a black suit. Her mouse brown hair was pulled back tightly in a ponytail. Her average silver eyes were sheltered behind round glasses that hung loosely on her nose. She wore little make-up to her face. As expected of a bodyguard. The stern look she'd always put on her face was transformed into a winsome smile at the sight of Pierre. Lorrain wondered what charm Pierre had used to make "Stone Masha" (as she was called) smile. "Thanks, Masha." Pierre flashed her a smile and waited as she pulled open the door to the back seat. 'Spoiled brat. He'll forget my name but not hers. Takes after his father. Stupid womanizer. Lorrain clicked his tongue again. He put the luggages in the open trunk and shut it. On his way to the driver's seat, a voice stops him. "You will walk to the mansion, Lorena." It's Pierre. Lorrain burst out in anger. "If you're gonna scold me, at least say my name right. Jesus, I've worked for your father for 12 years!" "I heard your thoughts. How dare you insult my father!" Pierre hissed at the middle aged man who pursed his lips. He continued. "As punishment, you will not use your abilities to travel home but walk as slow as an old human to the mansion. And I don't want to get home before you. You have 10 minutes. Chop chop." Lorrain turned on his heels. "This crazy mother…. "That'll make it 2 minutes. Keep cursing and I'll reduce the time." Pierre sing-songed. "Jeez. I'm walking!" Pierre flared his nose as he began walking. The moment the young master's car drove past him, he yelled all the curses he held back. ****** In the backseat, Pierre went through his i********: page, editing the picture he's about to post. "I'm happy you returned home safe and sound, Sir." Masha beamed at the reflection of Pierre in the rear view mirror. "I know you are." Pierre smiled, not looking up from his phone. "How was Canada?" Masha asked. "As cold as my father's heart." Pierre was done editing and posted the picture. "You don't have to sound so grim, sir." Masha hit the brakes, awaiting the traffic light to turn green. "I know." A scoff escaped Pierre's lips as he looked out the window. Rain showered on the streets. A couple of people shelter themselves under the cruel rain. Those who had no umbrella sped across the street or stayed in the near-by cafe. Pierre sucked in a cold breath as he sighted a waitress in the cafe. She beamed smiles at every patron in the cafe as she served them coffee and the rest of their order. Pierre decided to make a rendezvous here. "I'll make a quick stop here, Masha." Pierre takes off the seat belt. Masha protests in fear. "But Young m Master, your father insisted I take you home." "Tell him it won't take long." Pierre said. Before he alights from the car, Masha rushes over to hold the umbrella for him. "Thanks." Pierre takes the umbrella from her and walks to the cafe. "I'll be right here, sir." Masha salutes and Pierre waves his hand languidly at her. Masha finds the car as Pierre walks in. The smell of fresh bread and grinding of coffee beans hit his nostrils and he craved to have a taste. Pierre found an empty booth and sat down, settling the umbrella next to him. He looked around. The place gave a homely vibe — from the soft music playing over the speakers. At the end of the cafe was a shelf full of books. The booths match the red flooring and the designs of red and white blotches on the walls. Pierre smiled and took the menu to order when a voice made him look up. "You're new here, right?" She asked. Pierre stared at her blue eyes that reminded him of the ocean. Pierre blinks away from her spellbinding eyes. "Yeah. How'd you know?" "Just a guess. That coat doesn't look like it's from around here." She points at his coat. Pierre caught the glimmer of a smile in her eyes and he smiled back. "It isn't." "So what are you gonna order?" She lifts the little notebook, ready to pen down his order. "I'll just have black coffee." He settled the menu face down. "Okay." The waitress opens it and Pierre gives her a quick scrutiny. She had fiery red hair pulled back in a messy bun and wore a pair of round glasses. Her uniform clung to her body in all the right places. And when she looked at him with her enchanting blue eyes, he felt mesmerized. He had never seen anyone with bright red hair and blue eyes before. She spoke, startling him from his thoughts, "If that isn't all, I'd like to get your coffee, sir." "Thanks." Pierre nods solemnly. When she walked away, he felt strange. Who was that woman and why did she make his heart flutter? This was the first time they had met. He heard a ping and took out his phone from his pocket. It was a message from his father demanding his presence at the opera house. Pierre heaves a frustrated sigh and pockets the phone. The waitress is returning with the tray of his coffee when suddenly, she stumbles and the coffee spills on the man who was seated next to her. "Jesus! Are you effing blind, you little s**t?!" The barrel chested man roared. "I'm sorry." The waitress apologized. "I'll help clean this mess, sir." "You ain't going anywhere." The old man slapped the woman across the face and Pierre's fury grew. Before he could intervene, another woman had stepped on the scene. "I'm sorry, sir. Our staff usually don't behave this way. It's my mistake for not training her well. I apologize. Your breakfast is in the house." The older woman had her head bowed. The old man scoffed. "You're lucky, little shit." The older woman grabbed the waitress by the elbow and shoved her inside. Pierre stared in disbelief. Was this how people in BellHollow were treated? The old man wiped away his ash shirt which had a stain of coffee. "I told you I'd get that chick." His partner, a much younger man, laughed. "How did her ass feel?" The old man threw the napkin on his table. "So damn soft. I thought she'd fall on my lap but the coffee did instead." "s**t. We'll get the b***h next time." His partner replied with a sneer. A waiter arrived with a mop and dried the drenched floor. Pierre waited for his coffee and just in time, his waitress returned with another tray of coffee. This time her glasses hung loosely on her nose and her cheeks were red. He wondered what happened to her. "Here's your coffee, sir." She dropped the cup in front of him and turned to leave but he caught her wrist. "Are you okay?" He asked worriedly. "Of course, I am." She smiled at him and pushed his hand away. That was when he caught the name on the name tag — Anya. What a beautiful name. He fisted his hands. Those assholes will regret ever laying their hands on her. Then he looked at his hands. Why was he hellbent on defending a stranger? It was unlike him to interfere in human affairs nor did she have the scent of lavender and roses. He took a sip of coffee and watched the old man and his partner walk out of the cafe. Then he followed them. They walked to the back of the alley. When he found Anya with them, he hid in a corner, listening to their conversation. "Want to get another round? You like the feel of my hand on your ass?" The old man approached her. Anya said nothing at first then a laugh broke out of her lips. "Shut up, b***h! Are you crazy?" His partner yelled at her and swung at her but she caught his hand. "Me, a b***h? Wow, am I?" Anya didn't seem to struggle while holding the man. "Let go of me!" The man cried. "Fine. You asked for it." Anya pushed the man to the older guy and both of them fell to the ground. Then she loomed over them, a menacing look in her violet eyes. Pierre blinked twice. Her eyes were blue before. What happened? "You slapped my butt, made me apologize for spilling coffee which was your stupid fault and now, my boss cut my paycheck. Oh, both of you deserve death!" Anya screamed at them. "We're sorry." Both men got to their knees and bowed their heads on the wet ground. "Look at me," Anya said. They lifted their heads, water dripping from their clothes. "You will regret doing this to me and every other lady. Both of you will argue till the day you die and fortune will never go your way. Now, go to the police station and report yourselves." She said. "Yes, ma'am." Both of them took to their feet. Pierre watched both of them walk past him. They had been hypnotized. But how? The only ones that could hypnotize people were - - A hand grabbed his neck and shoved him on the wall. "What are you looking at, new guy?" Pierre could only stare in shock at the girl who's cute smile had made his heart flutter, now had a sinister smile, staring at him with deep violet eyes.
