Flashback - Twenty Years Ago. As they drew closer, Alessio Moretti emerged from the darkness with a defiant smirk on his face. "Well, well, well, what do we have here?" Leonardo's jaw clenched with determination as he aimed his gun at Alessio and spoke, "You are under arrest, Alessio Moretti. Surrender peacefully, and we won't have to use force." Alessio laughed mockingly while his eyes were gleaming with defiance as he asserted. "You will never take me alive, Rossi!" He took out his gun and aimed towards Leonardo and fired. In a matter of seconds, the warehouse erupted into chaos as gunfire filled the air. Leonardo, Angelo, and their team exchanged shots with Alessio Moretti and his men while their guns were flashing in the dim light. Leonardo dove behind a stack of crates while the bullets could be heard whizzing past him as he returned fire. "Keep them pinned down!" He shouted to his team while his voice was urgent with determination. Angelo's steps were a blur of motion, ducking and weaving between crates as he fired relentlessly at Moretti's men. His heart pounded in his chest as he fought to protect his team. Moretti's men were relentless while their gunfire was also relentless as they advanced on Leonardo and Angelo's position. Luke, their comrade, was caught in the crossfire and a cry of pain escaped him as a bullet struck him down. "No!" Leonardo shouted while his heart was lurching with anguish as he watched his friend fall but there was no time to mourn. They had a job to do and hence, wiith gritted teeth, Leonardo pushed himself to his feet while his eyes were in tears though full of determination. "We need to take them out, now!" Angelo nodded grimly while his jaw was set with determination as he fired round after round at Moretti's advancing men. "We can't let them get away with this!" The warehouse echoed with the sound of gunfire as the two sides clashed, each fighting tooth and nail for victory. Bullets tore through the air, shattering crates and sending debris flying in all directions. Leonardo gritted his teeth against the pain as a bullet grazed his arm while his focus was unwavering as he returned the fire with deadly accuracy. "We have got this, Angelo. Just keep fighting!" but as the battle raged on, it became clear that they were outnumbered and outgunned. Moretti's men seemed to be everywhere and their relentless assault was pushing Leonardo and Angelo's team back with each passing moment. In a desperate bid to turn the tide, Leonardo rallied his team while his voice was ringing out above the chaos. "We need to flank them! Move out and take them from the side!" With the renewed determination, Leonardo and Angelo's team sprang into action and split off into smaller groups to attack Moretti's men from multiple angles. The warehouse became a battleground and the air could be seen thick with smoke and the stench of gunpowder but despite their best efforts, the tide of the battle seemed to turn against them. Moretti's men fought with ruthless efficiency while their numbers were overwhelming Leonardo and Angelo's team at every turn. In the midst of the chaos, Leonardo caught sight of Moretti himself and his eyes were burning with rage as he fired round after round at their position. With a grim determination, Leonardo raised his weapon and took aim while his fingers were tightening on the trigger but before he could fire, Angelo lunged forward, tackling Moretti to the ground in a desperate bid to disarm him. The two men grappled fiercely while their bodies entwined as they fought for control of the gun. With a surge of adrenaline, Leonardo rushed forward to help his friend while his heart was pounding in his chest as he joined the fray. Together, he and Angelo fought tooth and nail against Moretti while their determination was unwavering as they struggled to bring him down. Finally, with a herculean effort, Leonardo managed to wrestle the gun from Moretti's grasp while his hands were trembling with exhaustion as he leveled it at the drug lord's head. "It's over, Alessio Moretti," He said while his voice was cold and hard with determination. Moretti's eyes widened in disbelief as he realized he had been defeated. With a bitter laugh, he raised his hands in surrender, his expression defiant to the end. "You may have won this time, Rossi but mark my words, this isn't over." As Leonardo moved in to handcuff Alessio, Angelo's gaze drifted to the bags of cash nearby while his eyes could be seen widening at the sight. Alessio noticed his distraction and spoke up while a sly smile was playing on his lips. "You like what you see, Angelo? I can make it worth your while." Angelo hesitated while his grip was tightened on his gun as he glanced between the money and Leonardo and said, "I don't think so, Alessio. We are not here for bribes." Leonardo shot Angelo a stern look while his expression was firm. "Stay focused, Angelo. We are here to uphold the law and Alessio, the person who could bribe me in their favour is not born yet. Better luck next time, though." Alessio chuckled while his tone was mocking. "Come on, Angelo. You know you want it. Think of what you could do with all that cash." He knew that Angelo was in need of cash for his family. Angelo's resolve wavered for a moment, while his eyes were flickered with temptation but then he shook his head while his jaw was set with determination. "No, Alessio. I won't betray my principles for money." Leonardo nodded in approval while his gaze was unwavering. "That's right, Angelo. We are better than that." Alessio's smile faltered and got replaced by a scowl of frustration. "You will regret this, Martini. You could have been rich and Leonardo, the police who would be able to take me to prison isn't born yet." but Angelo stood his ground while his resolve was unshaken. "I would rather be poor and honest than rich and corrupt." Leonardo and Angelo knew that their victory had come at a heavy cost as they looked around at the fallen bodies of their comrades, and their hearts were heavy with sorrow but even in the face of tragedy, Leonardo knew that they had done what needed to be done and as he stood together amidst the wreckage of the warehouse, he knew that he would continue to fight for what was right, no matter the cost. As they made their way out of the warehouse, Leonardo's eyes fell upon the lifeless form of Luke lying on the ground. He rushed over to him while his heart sinked at the sight. "Luke! Oh god, no!" Leonardo exclaimed while his voice was laced with concern as he knelt beside his fallen comrade. Angelo rushed to his side while his expression was grim. "What happened, Leo?" Leonardo shook his head while his hands were hovering over Luke's still form. "I don't know, Angelo. He must have been caught in the crossfire." Angelo's face paled while a sense of guilt could be seen washing over him. "We should have been more careful." Leonardo nodded solemnly while his gaze was lingering on Luke's lifeless body. "Call for an ambulance, Angelo. We need to get him help." Angelo nodded while pulling out his phone to make the call as he glanced back at Alessio, who was now in handcuffs and being escorted outside. "I will take care of Alessio. You focus on Luke," Angelo said while his voice was tinged with determination. Leonardo nodded gratefully while his attention was still fixed on Luke's motionless form. "Thanks, Angelo. Let's hope he makes it." After the few moments, the sound of approaching sirens filled the air, Leonardo remained by Luke's side while his heart was heavy with guilt and sorrow. He prayed silently for his friend's recovery.
