Chelcee’s eyes were shut so tightly, and her imagination became real. She was walking down the wide halls, and looking to her right were the red lockers. Instead of combination locks, the kind of lock that was used was a fingerprint, and your student ID will pop on the screen. She was dressed in a black and white striped top, the back was laced; she wore black skinny jeans and ankle-high boots. Looking for her number in her locker and once she saw the number 219. She stopped and went towards it. She placed her right index finger on the scanner and looked at the ID picture that made her look like she was twenty-one. The breeze of the locker made the scent of perfumes, the ones she had always kept in her locker. She was hearing the voices that were behind the walls. It was almost like a whisper. She pulled out the notebook out of her locker, acting like she didn’t hear the voices. Once she took a glance at her notebook, she saw writing on the paper, and it was writing itself. “Your future will not end well”. She dropped the book and took a step back. She raced down the hall, her heart thumping against her chest. She opened a door and then she was standing in a classroom with people that she did not even know, but she did see her twin sister was saving her a seat. Chelcee took a look at the board and the date said “October 25th, 3016”. Her confusion entered in her mind, looking at her sister; her sister didn’t even know why she was so confused for.
Is that the correct date, asked Chelcee? I know for sure that the year is not 3016. It’s 2016. Is this my nightmare of the future, or is my mind just messing with me? I started walking towards my sister and sat in the seat that she saved for me. I looked her in the eye, and she looked at me. “ What’s going on”, asked Chelcee?
Her sister turned to her and sat up straight. She had both hands on her shoulders. "All of us have been asleep for a thousand years, and now we could never age or die again," replied Lexi. And we could never tell anyone what happened to us or our true age, we just needed to play along, added Lexi. Lexi seemed so real and knew what she was talking about. Her eyes focused on her sister, Lexi’s eyes were so intense onto her sister.
The dream was not only a dream, but it was the future. It was more like a vision than a dream. Chelcee had no clue what might happen to them or what might happen in the end. Thoughts in her head started to be filled with many other questions, but how could her sister answer them if her sister was the future Lexi. Her gut was telling her too just to ask her, how bad it could be. The breath she held on to for a couple of seconds finally escaped. How could she know what had happened if she never asked? She had her hands folded together onto the desk with her head bowed down.
Okay, what happened to us? Like how did this happen, asked Chelcee? She slightly tilted her head and saw that her sister knew something. Lexi’s eyes showed it all. Chelcee wanted to know even if it was scary to listen to the truth. Facing her sister and finding the words to speak. Nothing that came to speak, just the voice of her sister.
"You don’t remember," asked Lexi. She saw the confusion of her own sister; her sister didn’t know what had actually happened to them. “ Well, there was a storm, and our school was buried with 200 feet of snow, maybe more than that”, said Lexi. Lexi was being so blunt and real with her sister, the expression of her sister was so shocked and unbelievable.
“Please tell me that you are joking with me”, exclaimed Chelcee. Her heart started to race upon her own breathing, a chill ran up her spine like a ghost ran through her. The look she gave Lexi was strong and full of worry. She knew she couldn’t tell anybody because, you know, what happens in movies, you are most likely to be killed, for example, like Dracula. Chelcee’s eyes wandered around the room, eying everyone she saw. She felt like she was being watched. The anxiety feeling fell into her gut.
I’m sorry, sis. It’s true this did happen, Lexi apologized. The fear and guilt were all over Lexi’s face, and for sure, her sister knew what she was thinking. She wished she could stop the storm, but at the time, she was only human. But maybe it won’t be as bad as they think it will be. No! This can not be happening, so you are saying that we are not human anymore! What about Mom? Where is she? Chelcee panics.
Chelcee looked out the door that had been left open and saw five men all dressed in black. It didn’t help that the hallway was pitch black; they were so muscular and stiff. Each and everyone one of them held a weapon, one held a sword-like weapon, the other held a gun, and the other held a crossbow. They walked over and stood in front of the teacher and were pointing towards Chelcee, it was strange towards her because they were only pointing at her. She looked at her sister, and she was terrified of her own sister. The intruder started to raise his voice, it was obvious that every one of them were men.
Give me Chelcee or else everyone in this room, including yourself, will die, declared Alaric. No one could see his face; he had a mask covering his face except for his eyes. His eyes were like a gold emerald. What was his reason for wanting Chelcee?
Okay, I am doing this cause I love you, but ran towards the back door, Lexi panicked. She eyed the door that was in the back of the room and so that her sister would know where she was going.
Chelcee didn’t want to leave Lexi, especially to the people who had weapons toward their teacher. Lexi, I can’t leave you here alone. I don’t know what I would do if I lost you, whispered Chelcee. Her face stiffened as she worried about her sister if she ever left this room without her.
I know you don’t. Don’t be stupid and just live, said Lexi. Her thought of her own sister was to protect her sister since Chelcee had always had her back. Tears ran down her face just like a river streaming down the surface. Her eyes started to water as someone dropped some liquid into them.
I’m not leaving without you, and yes, I know I am stubborn, it’s because I love you, replied Chelcee. She grabbed her sister’s hand and looked at her sister with a fearful look.
Okay fine, I’ll go with you, sighed Lexi. Lexi held onto her sister's hand and ran for the door. Alaric saw them run out of the door and pointed the gun towards Lexi.
As Chelcee ran with Lexi, the halls went darker and darker until there was nothing to look at or see. She could only hear the breathing and the voice of her sister. She could feel the clammy hands of her sister; she knew she was scared half to death. But they kept on running until she couldn’t hear anybody behind her except for her sister. They reached outside and then looked up at the windows and saw what was on the windows. “All I wanted was to protect you, and we are sorry that I did not make it, my angel, Love Mom”. Chills ran up the twin girls’ spines, and they looked at each other. Those words made them feel stronger. “ You see that right, asked Chelcee?
Chelcee’s eyes slowly started to open, and the sound of the alarm went off. Her heart was still racing, and for that split second, she realized that she was just dreaming. It felt so real towards her, and it was not like any other dream that you would ever dream about. She started to sit up, and she slightly looked to her right and realized that her mother had closed the curtains. The curtains went from the ceiling to the floor. The curtains were an ash gray and dark royal purple. The room was very shaded with the light color of the purple and gray that the light hit. I looked at the clock, and it said it was 7:30 AM, and usually I never wake up at that time. I got up and walked towards the window and pulled the curtain open, and the whole room was filled with morning light. I went into my closet and grabbed a black shirt that hung off my shoulders, then I went toward my dresser and pulled my drawer out and grabbed a pair of black skinny jeans. I looked at the floor of my bedroom closet floor and saw a pair of boots. They were jet black and I thought they were perfect to wear with my outfit. I headed downstairs and the keys were on the counter with a note attached to them. “Dear Chelcee, these keys are for you, and can you pick up Haylee? I already put Haylee’s address in your navigator”.
Chelcee smiled while she read it, and turned the note to the back, and she grabbed a black ink pen. She set the note onto the counter and started to write “Thank you, Mom, and I love you forever and always”. She grabbed the keys on the counter, and I picked up her bag that was under the chair. The house had no noise, it was as silent as the ocean went to the shore. She made sure that she locked the door; it was only a Saturday, but she wanted to get out of the house. The nightmare she had was too frightening, and she just needed to walk it off; at least she had the amount of sleep that she needed. She was so excited to drive her new car that her mother bought her. Well, luckily, her mother is very wealthy. The only reason is because of Chelcee’s father. She started up her car and started driving, and she looked behind her to make sure no one was behind her. She plugged her phone into her radio, and suddenly her cousin Haylee was calling. All she has to do is say the answer, and then she can talk.
“Hey, what’s up?" said Chelcee. She was so focused on the road, but she was also listening to her cousin. The second period of silence was almost like a pause.
Hey, I’m just bored and was wondering if we could hang out, asked Haylee.
"Well, of course we can. "I am already driving anyway, like I am right now, answered Chelcee. She was already five blocks away from her house, and she looked to her right and saw that Haylee was sitting on the porch and onto a bench swing. “And honestly, I see you, " admitted Chelcee. She saw the shock on her cousin's face. It was priceless.
Haylee looked at the car that Chelcee was driving. Wait, you are driving a Camaro 2016, exclaimed Haylee! Her eyes were so wide from the shock of amazement. Chelcee’s car was parked at the side of the road and Haylee stood up while holding her phone against her ear. Walking over to the car in a calm manner, Chelcee’s window was down on the passenger's side. Haylee had her forearms on the window opening and had her head inside.
What are you waiting for, get in, teased Chelcee. She had that smile when she was joking or teasing. She had her eyes on Haylee as she started to get in the car. She drifted her head and looked towards the road as she started the car.
`
She caught one of the guys looking at her, and he gave her a friendly gesture and then smiled with a wink at her. She turned to her cousin and knew instantly that she was bored. She felt bad that she was. She walked up to a bulletin board and saw so many events happening, such as concerts, fairs, and sports events. Do you want to do something fun, Haylee asked Chelcee. She knew what she was going to say. It was obviously yes. The spark lit Haylee’s eyes.
Of course, I would, and so what should we do? asked Haylee? She was looking at the bulletin board, she felt the same boy looking at Chelcee. By the way, that boy in the corner of the room is staring at you, and I think he is attracted to you, said Haylee.
I think I noticed, but truth be told, I’m not interested; he’s not my type. Oh, well, if you don't want him, then I'll take him, said Haylee. "Go for it, knock yourself out," Chelcee said. She watches Haylee walk up to the unknown boy, who she didn't have no interest in. She couldn't hear what she was telling him, but she just knew she was mentioning that I was not interested but that she is available. I just giggled a little, and I want to see how well this will go. I watched for a bit, and he leaned against the wall with his arms propped up, with a flirtatious smile on his face. And they were exchanging their phone numbers, and she wrapped a strand of hair behind her ear as she spoke to him. She walked back towards Chelcee, and Haylee was bright red. Well, I wasn't expecting that to go very well. So when he couldn’t get with me, he went after my cousin. I laugh. "Well, you are not wrong, replied Haylee. "So what should we do around her," asked Chelcee? "How does a party rave sound, asked Haylee. "I mean I am down, and it’ll be a first," I replied. We headed to my car, and then she put in the address. It told us we will be there in 30 minutes which isn't bad at all. I am still trying to learn about this town and see everything around us. My music blast in the car and stray kids start to play. I couldn't help it but to dance, Haylee giggled. Oh, if you really want me to dance here, I said. I searched up on my phone Boom Boom Bam Bam by Shaggy. And my upper body started swaying side and moving my hips into the seat, flipping my hair everywhere, and the look that other drivers were giving was distraught. Oh lord, Haylee laughed. I pulled into a dark alley to park, and we go to the entrance of our destination. They checked our ID and let us in. Did they just let us in? I asked. Yup, and they nitpick who can actually enter in, responded Haylee. "I take it they have a type," I joked. Once we got inside, I looked around. Everything was open, it was dark with strobe lights and a glow in a dark theme. It was really loud, and you could feel the vibration of everyone dancing and including music. Haylee and I started to join in the dancing, little did I know I was being picked up from the ground and being in a crowd-surf. What the hell, I laughed. And I see haylee covering her mouth with both of her hands as she is in shock and starts laughing. And then I saw her doing a crowd-surf as well, and man, this was definitely new. It's a good way of getting my mind off of things to be honest. As we hit the ground and the first time experiment made me feel free. I looked up towards the VIP section and then looked at Haylee. Hey, what's up there? I pointed my head the direction I was looking at and then waited for her response. She leaned into the side of the head and then said “ That's the VIP section cuz”. Oh? I had a look on my face, I’m up to no good. Hold on a second, I will be right back, I said, now wait a minute, i don't think they will allow you up there, responded Haylee. I wore my black leather jeans with my leather black tie behind the neck crop top, it exposed my back. And step by step I went up the steps until a body guard stopped me by the top of the steps. “Miss you can’t be up here unless you have a black card” and a voice sounded familiar. “Let her through”. I passed by the guard and as I am on top looking over the dance floor, this didn't feel where I should be. And the man is sitting back on the sofa with each arm stretched out on the back of the couch and his posture is relaxed. I felt his eyes on me and he reached for his glass of scotch and took a drink without his eyes ever leaving me. I leaned forward with both arms on the railing but from up here it's a different vibe. “Excuse me miss, he wanted me to give you this”. I look down at the black card and look at the unrecognizable man. Oh? Thank you I guess, I replied. And look back at the man who was watching me like a hawk. Chills ran down my spine, especially for the fact that those eyes are incredibly familiar. And then I wandered around the top floor of the VIP section. But to me it didn't feel like I was in a VIP section, it was more like I was in a Wolves den. Like they were waiting more like he was waiting. I was offered so much food and drinks but the thing is I'm under age and the fact I have to drive back home and my mother would kill me. No one in the rave party knew my age, they just figured I was 21 or older because of how mature I was. I was about to head down stairs but the look he was giving was like he knew me and I felt like I’ve known him for years. His arm was tattooed of a wolf and a dragon merging and then with some nordic symbols into the sleeve. He wore a black silk button on shirt and only buttoned up half way exposing his chest with his sleeves rolled up. And then he wore black pants to go with it and then I saw on the belt line was a gun and that's when I knew I had to go. He’s dangerous and something I can't be around, and quickly go down stairs. I found my cousin by the bar drunk. Oh no, I leave you for 5 minutes, I laugh. Oh shut up and dont tell my mom, said Haylee.
Why would I tell my aunt she would kill us both and then inform my mom and then I’m double dead, I replied. We should go before you get wasted, I requested.
Absolutely, she agreed.
I wasted some time so she could sober up a little and then we stopped for something to eat but just then I felt like I was being watched and followed like this doesn't feel right.
Let’s grab a Bite. I looked at her while pulling in the parking lot and put the car in park. I’m in the mood for some Mexican, I tell her.
Ooo, that does sound really good, she replies. So are you going to tell me how you got up to the VIP section and what the hell happened up there, she demanded.
Well, I exaggerated my well. You see what happened was…
I was going up there and got stopped by the body guards up there until one of the VIP members told them to let me through, but just something about him seemed familiar but I just observed him, I responded.
Is that it, she asked?
No, there's more, I said.
He seemed to be dangerous because he is armed and also why I wanted to leave, I admitted.
I see, so what are you not telling me, Haylee asked?
OKay okay fine, you caught me, I admitted.
I have a stalker but I don't know who he is. I never saw his face, just his eyes, and I only heard his voice twice because I have pissed him off, I finally say. Haylee's face drops in horror and then becomes worried. She grabs my hand and then looks into my eyes. “Have you told your mom about this or anyone, " she asked. Her tone was so sympathetic and almost shaking.
No, I have not, I replied. You’re the only one that knows about this, I added. We sat down at a boost seat and ordered our food. I ordered a chicken Enchilada with extra cheese and a side of sour cream including some guacamole. And Haylee starts to order her food, which was a chicken fajita platter.
So how are you feeling, I asked. She is grabbing some chips and salsa while I am eating chips and guacamole.
I would need to eat more, she said.
Haylee and I have been gone all day since this morning and now it is 10 pm. The waitress set our food in front of us and I was taking a drink of my ice-cold horchatta. “Is there anything I could get you two ladies”, asked the waitress.
No I think we are good for now thank you tho, I said kindly. We both smile and she walks back to her station. Then both of our phones rang. Both of our moms call us, we both answer our phones. Hi mom, I answered. Where are you two, look I don't mind you hanging out with each other but it's the fact that me and your Aunt have not heard from any of you all day till now because I had to call you, she lectured.
I’m sorry mom but we lost track of time, but now we are eating at a Mexican restaurant, I responded.
Well when you are done eating, come back home, she demanded softly.
"Yes mom, I said.
I looked over the table where Haylee was sitting and her mom, Aka my Aunt, was giving her a lecture just like my mom did, but not as bad. I waited till she was done with the phone call. Once she was hung up she went back to eating her food and sipping on her Jamaican drink.
You good?
Was She mad, I added
Yeah just that my mom just gave me a whole ass lecture of being inconsiderate, she answered annoyedly.
Oh I see, I answered.
Well I don't think my mom is done with me, I added.
Yeah same here, she said.
I pulled out my card to pay for our meal.
Ma’am your bill has already been paid, she tells me.
Huh? How? By whom, I questioned.
He already left, she answered.
Okay? I guess we should get going then.
We both get up and head to my car but there’s a note written in blood. Oh not again.
“Did you really think I wouldn't find you within 24 hours? I told you, you are mine. And you will only be mine for me only. Wherever you run I will follow. Baby girl, you really don't want to anger me. So don't get too comfortable because I am coming for you, I am just waiting for the right moment when you are least expecting it”.
Dude is that blood, Haylee asked in horror.
Yup, I said bluntly.
You’re not surprised, she asked?
Because this isn't the first time, I answered,
He's intense, she added.
You think, I said sarcastically.
I start my engine and start to head to her house to drop her off since we both start school in the morning. She gives me a hug and head inside her house and then my Aunt comes out.
Oh no. I held my head with my hand.
Hi Aunt Clare, I greeted.
Hey sweetheart, she replies.
You both had me worried and you two are only 17 and 16 so I would like you to tell me where the hell you were at, she scolded. And there it is, she was the blunt one without a filter.
Umm, aunt Clare we were just hanging out at some music festival, I lied.
Why didn’t you two tell me and your mom that in the first place.
“Because it was a last minute thing”.
I see, she said.
Well go home and be quiet when your mom is asleep, she added.
Yes Aunt Clare, I replied. I drove home and parked next to her car and then armed my car after shutting the door as I walked away from it. I walked up to the front door and typed in the passcode for the alarm system to let me in. and I locked the door back up and walked softly, walking upstairs to my bedroom. As I opened my door I turned on my lights and changed into a pair of comfy shorts and tank top without my bra. And turned off the lights and proceeded to lay down on the bed. And slowly drifted to sleep and waited for the morning to come.
