I couldn’t believe my eyes when he blushed. He looked really adorable, and I leaned towards him to make sure he was actually blushing, and my mind wasn’t playing tricks on me. I looked into his eyes which were like emerald pools. I leaned in closer and just when I thought he would actually kiss me there was a knock on the door. "Son, are you there?" I jumped up, staring at the door, hoping Cameron's father wouldn't open it and come in. If he knew I was in here I might never see my best friend again. Cameron answered calmly. " Yes dad, how can I help you?" "Could you please come downstairs? I have to talk to you about something." "I'll be down in a minute!". I heard footsteps fading away. With a big sight I dropped down onto Cameron's bed. "How did you keep so calm?" I asked him, still shaking with nervous energy. "You should stop worrying so much. The only thing my father wants is for me to be happy. He doesn't care if you're in here or not. Besides, he knows were friends." He winked at me and walked to the door."Now, you just stay right here, I'll be back as fast as I can." He turned around and closed the door behind him. I felt the tension flow away and reached for the book that Cameron gave me. The drawings where so beautiful. There where flowers from the garden, more detailed drawings of Pandorra, parts of the house, and a lot more. When I turned to the last used page, my mouth dropped to the floor. Laughing at me from the page was... me. I was so focused while examining the drawing of myself that I didn't notice Cameron had returned until he sat next to me. I looked up at him asked: "When did you make this?" "Oh that, I made it a few days ago while you where taking a walk with me. We stopped at a lake to take a break, you remember?" " Oh yeah, I do remember. It's beautiful. What did your father want to talk about?" "My family is invited to a ball next week and I have to take someone with me." He frowned, and looked at me. " Really? Who are you going to take?" " I had an idea but I'm not sure if she would like to come." Ow, so he had someone in mind. I didn't know why but I felt dissapointed. Wait, that didn't even make sense, it's not like he liked me or was my mate or anything so why did I care who he took to the ball, why did the thought of another girl by his side hurt so much? "Everything okay?" He looked at me with worried eyes. " Yeah, im fine. So who did you want to take?" "I'll tell you tommorow, it's been a long day so I'm going to bed. Get home safe ok?" "Alright, goodnight!!" With that said, I started walking home. It was already dark outside, and there was a cold wind that made me shiver. I fastened my stride and within a few minutes I got home. I reached for the door when I heard my mom and Baxter argue. "We have to tell her!" He said. "No we don't! She's my baby girl and I don't want to lose her." "Elena, there is no other choice, her birthday is tommorow. It won't take long for her to discover the truth after that." "I know, I know, but let's just wait a little longer. Please?" "Alright, just a little longer."
