He left her broken, forgotten, and betrayed in a hospital bed.

When Valerie woke up from a concussion, she pranked her fiancé, Nathan Hart, by pretending to have amnesia and acting oblivious to his existence—just to see his reaction. But things went sour the moment he claimed it was true: that they had broken up a long time ago and he had a new woman in his life.

She began to doubt herself, knowing full well she didn’t have amnesia and that it was just a joke. But Valerie didn’t reveal the truth. Instead, she dug deeper to find out why he lied—only to discover that Nathan was dating his boss’s daughter, Alina, the daughter of a powerful CEO.

Valerie thought Alina had taken Nathan away from her—until she found out that Alina was also being played by Nathan. Nathan was a womanizer and a player, doing everything he could to manipulate any girl to get what he wanted.

With Alina’s help, secretly working side by side without Nathan’s knowledge, they became powerful allies, executing plans to take revenge and destroy him. After all, he was a devil.

He thought Valerie had lost her memory and that he was playing her.

He thought Alina loved him—but instead, he was the one being used… tortured for 365 days of emotional torment.

Revenge… is best served slow.

The vision
Valerie. “Aaaargh.” That was the first word that came out of my mouth the moment I saw my fiancé sitting across from me. I remember the accident. Everything was hectic. “What’s going on?” I blinked, noticing the drips. “You're awake.” His brows sagged. My poor baby must have been sad to see me hospitalized. I noticed how his shirt was wrinkled, and he looked terrible and stressed. The last movie I watched before I got hit by a car, the female lead pretended to tell her boyfriend about having amnesia to see her boyfriend's reaction. The idea crossed my mind. “W—who are you pleasing?” I asked, faking a scene to see his reaction. He paused, raised his brow and cleared his throat. “Right. Um, about that…. I'm Nathan. Your ex.” My eyes widened. Ex? “We used to date some months back, and we broke up because of some issues. You may not remember me, but I'm just here to help.” Wait. What? “What?” I asked in confusion. “Valerie, you had an accident. You probably have memory loss. But I just want to convince you. We were lovers before. Although now I'm getting married.” He flashed the ring on his finger and my stomach twisted. He proposed to me with that ring a month ago. “I know I'm getting married soon but the least I could do was show up for you when I heard the news.” He sighed. “Really?” I fought back tears. I wanted to confess that it was all a joke, but no. Why would he lie about us? Or could I really be suffering from amnesia? “Yes. I'm so sorry, Valerie.” His hands brushed mine. “Excuse me for a while.” He stood up and walked out. My head was spinning, and I was still reeling from his sudden act. I whispered. “Nathan, what are you talking about? I remember everything that happened. We're supposed to get married soon. I recognize you.” I sighed. I won't tell the truth yet. The door opened and he stepped back in. “Do you want anything? Water?” I nod, declining his offer. “Okay. You know, um, I'm just here to assist. I have work to do, but I'm just filling in for your mom. She'll be here sooner.” “I'm still trying to remember us.” My voice was low. “Us? Was dead for a while. You shouldn't bother……” The door was pushed open and a lady in a short white dress and blonde hair scuttled in. “There you are babe.” She kissed him. My heart ached. “Nathan, you're meeting…” Her eyes fell on me and she paused. “Alina, this is Valerie. My long-time ex-girlfriend. Valeria, this is Alina—” “His girlfriend.” She immediately finishes. But something was off. I remember who Alina was? I've seen her a couple of times. That's his boss's daughter! “Goodbye.” He waved. “Bye, take care.” she squeals. He gave me a final nod before leaving with her, closing the door behind her. “Oh my gosh.” Tears rolled down to my cheeks. I kept on breathing heavily. The door pushed open again and a man with a book, stethoscope and white jacket, which I assumed was the doctor, came in. “Tell me this is a f*****g joke.” I whispered. Nathan once told me Alina was his boss's daughter from his company, though it wasn't a formal introduction. “Hello, Miss Valerie. I see you're awake.” He looked down on me and I tossed myself on the bed like a disturbed worm. “Tell me this is a joke.” I bitterly cried. “Ex–cuse me. Please try—” “Just tell me this is a f*****g joke!” I yelled at the top of my lungs, and he held me down to the bed. “Please, I would appreciate it if you calmed down and what are you talking about?” I sniffed. “What happened to me? I swear I didn't forget anything. What the f**k is wrong with me?” He checked the monitors. “And who says anything about forgetting anything?” I paused. “Is it true? I have amnesia?” “What? No. You're just waking up from a coma and had a mild concussion from the accident.” “So I didn't forget anything?” “Did you?” I swallowed. We were both quiet till he pressed the cold stethoscope into my chest. “You were unconscious for a bit. You're doing fine. No memory loss.” A huge relief dropped. That means it was a lie. Nathan just lied to me. But why? “Your mother was here earlier this morning.” He adjusted the IV. She'll be back soon. Just rest.” With that, he walked away. How do I calm down? My boyfriend just made me feel stupid. I don't know what's going on, but whatever he's playing, I'll play along just to get to the bottom of the truth. As the doctor left, the door opened and I saw my mom. “Oh my baby. Thank God you're awake.” She rushed to bed. “Hey, mom.” I took a deep breath. She cupped my cheeks gently. “Awwn. You gave me a scare.” “What happened to me? I mean, I remember I just tried to cross the road.” “The car that ran you over didn't stop in pity. It just sped along. That bastard.” She whimpered. “How bad.” “Yeah. But don't worry. The doctor says you're fine and thinks of discharging you today.” “Already?” “You've been asleep for two days though. He's checked your vitals and everything. You're strong.” “Well, that's good news.” I sighed, although I woke up to bad news. Minutes later, after the payment and discharge followed, I was rolled up in a wheelchair down the pavement. The breeze kissed my skin and I sighed heavily. By the hospital’s parking lot, I spotted Nathan pressed against Alina. They were kissing. This was why he didn't look bothered. They've been flirting probably for a while. He's been cheating. “You asshole.” I gritted my teeth and my mom opened the door and helped. Me into the backseat. I'm definitely going to find out why he refused me and made me look like a fool. Let the f*****g games begin!!!
