Howls erupt from the four corners of North America signaling the birth of the next in heirs of the packs. All born on the 15th day of the Aries Moon at 1230am the first to arrive was the boys all in wolf form, the girls born human. Parents looking on with pride and concern. A joyous occasion marked by questions.
Walking the halls filled with worry you could see the questions in Beta Bruce’s eyes.
“Bruce?” Alpha Dwight called with concern in his voice
“Yes Dwight” responded Beta Bruce
“Brother first congratulations on the birth of your pups but I must ask was there anything particularly odd about their births?”
Rising his head in shock and nodding Alpha Dwight grimaced
“Our sons were born wolves, but…”
“Our daughters born human” Beta Bruce completed his Alpha’s statement
They both sat in silence unsure of what to say. Both wanting answers the silence is broken by the ringing of their phone. Both looking in amazement.
“It’s the Alpha of the Moon Stone Pack” stated Alpha Dwight
“My phone shows the Beta of the Topaz Water Pack” replied Bruce
“Hello” they say in unison.
After Alpha Dwight made a call to the Emerald Mountain Pack it was confirm. All of the pup boys were born at 1230am as wolves and the girls born 1245am human. An emergency meeting was held two weeks later bring all of the alphas, betas, mates, and pups to one location.
“We can’t allow this to get out” the Topaz Alpha said
“They won’t be safe they will be a liability” the Moon Stone Alpha stated
“We should send them off to live with the humans!!!!” Emerald Mountain Alpha
Yelling, growls and arguing continues…. After 12 grueling hours it was decided that no one outside of the families and doctors will know the circumstances of the children’s birth being that the girls lack of a wolf made them vulnerable. Yet it is safer to have them at home where their packs can protect them. Signed in blood and sealed, a pact was made for the safety of their children and packs. Buried in the tomb of history there the secret lies in darkness.

Years later, somewhere in Nuevo Casas Grandes, in a dilapidated castle screams ring out
“I know that it is here I will know why they had that meeting 17 years ago. I will rule over North America I just need leverage.”
“Sir they would all have to show unfit as alphas and betas for you to be given their packs. No one has a secret so big that will cause the high court to find them unfit. Especially when their packs are flourish….”
Sticking my claws into his chest and crushing his lung was not as satisfying as it would be to crush the hearts of the Alphas of the North America packs, but it would suffice. No one in my pack is to question my resolve. Not even my beta. When I return home, I will tell his mate he died in battle and take her to my bed.
“You, what is your name” I said pointedly at some random wolf standing waiting for orders.
“Jason, Alpha Samuel, Jason Goldsmith”
“You are my new beta do you accept. Never mind it’s an order you don’t have a choice”
Looking down at my now dead beta Jason kneels and lifts his hand to me allowing me to slit his hand and press it to the wound in my previous beta’s chest. Just has his heart beats its last beats.
