CHAPTER 7
Les called his grandfather’s lawyer the next morning before going into see Marian Embers. He explained about the property and asked him to check it out and see if it was clear. The lawyer called him back two hours later and told him the property checked out. The property taxes were paid and there were no liens on it. Les thanked him and headed for the real estate office. Marian came forward to meet him when she saw him enter the office.
“Good morning, Mr. Hawk,” she said with a smile and put her hand out for a handshake.
