CHAPTER 11
Lily decided it was time for her and Lucky to look over their new home. She nestled up to Les and asked him when she was going to pick colors for the rooms.
“We can go over now if you want,” said Les grinning at her. He was delighted to see her take an interest in their new home. Instead of going on to the farm, Les turned into the road leading to their new home.
Lily looked around in amazement. The road had been resurfaced and all the wild weeds had been cleared. It looked totally different from the last time she had seen it. Les pulled up in front of the house and stopped. When he helped Lily to get Lucky out of his seat, Les took him and, taking Lily’s hand, guided her to the porch.
Lily heard hammering from outside the house and she looked around.
