When Bailey awoke she was alone. He hadn't t stayed. She heard him. It made her heart skip a beat, hearing his deep masculine voice say that he wanted her. That made her smile. He wanted her. He wanted her! A nagging feeling in the back of mind made her anxious, but the zoo in her belly, and the beats of her heart tuned it out. She hung out Peter and Lia. They went to amusement parks, played video games watched movies. They stayed for three days when she sees t them home. “No,” Lia whined, “I don't wanna! I wanna stay with you!” “Yeah,” Peter used his sister's cuteness, “Can't we stay?” “You have school tomorrow morning. You need plenty of rest. Text me or call me if you need anything.” They protested once more, but ultimately, Peter drove them home. She tracked him to make sure. I'm here in hell. Peter texted. She grinned. She was in heaven. She wanted to Spencer as soon as she could. Like a girl with a crush she thought about him all the time. She'd never felt this before. For anyone. No ever wanted her. The only times most of classmates talked to her, was they were bullying her. Once she kinda liked a guy; he was nice, didn't pick on her. He asked her and she over moon. Turns out, it was a set-up orchestrated by Lorelei and her Mother. She started to avoid the mirror and people too. But she felt beautiful! She felt happy. She slipped to his door, and knocked. He opened the door, looking at her in surprise. Her heart began to drop. It wasn't pleasant surprise. “What's up?” Down down, “Um, I just want to see if we could hangout—” “No.” Her heart sank to the bottom her belly, killing the zoo. She felt their corpses made her sick. “What?” “Look, I like you okay? You're a beautiful, smart girl but I don't want that right now.” Bailey frowned. Ever so slowly she started to creep backwards. “You don't want to a watch a movie?” Spencer sighed. She keep moving. He looked up and frowned. She was closer to him just a minute ago. Now she's— “It's not the movie.” Spencer tried not to look at her. “I know what you want. I can't give it to you. I like you but that's as far as it goes. I'm sorry.” He looked up she was at her door. “It's okay. I understand.” I don't think you do, he wanted to say. “Find someone else.” Don't find someone else. Just me. “Sorry I bothered you,” She smiled normally. “Have good day.” She disappeared into her apartment. He stood there stare at the place she was. But her pushed her back, so what could he expect? He felt bad. Everytime he say her she was so lonely and, just sad. This is the first time he ever say her like that; happy. Excited. It didn't last long. He did that. Would he ever see that smile again? Would he ever see again period? ⚡ No. The answer to that was no. Weeks passed. Christmas flew by, not a word. Not a sighting. He would stay in hallway looking for her. All day. All night. She never came out. He tried texting her calling her, she didn't reply. He didn't knew do. She was only doing what he asked, so why did he do bad. He couldn't sleep. He couldn't eat. He just needed to see her. That's it. See her and he could move on. But she hadn't left house in a nearly month. What she eating? Was she eating at all? New year's came and went. She had groceries delivered. She would not come out. For anything. Not even her brother. She must be sick he thought, and decided that she'd go back.to normal soon. January was moving quickly. Spencer couldn't do his job. He couldn't do anything but stress. Eventually, he knocked on her door. She didn't answer. Didn't come to the door. It occurred to him the only people who ever knocked on her door was the delivery man, her brother or him. She had to be lonely. He knocked again. And again. He kept knocking for almost a solid hour. The door swung open. “What?” Spencer froze mid knock. Then he pushed his way in to the apartment. She kept the door open. His heart hurt. Worse than left hook. Worse than broken ribs. Worse than anything he ever felt. “What do you want?” “You lost weight,” he frowned. She shrugged. “So?” Her tone wasn't nice but it wasn't mean. It had an edge to it. “Why?” “Maybe I wanted to, what do you want?” Spencer couldn't think. She always kept everything just so. Nothing was every messy. Her shirt hanged on her so loosely she had to keep pulling it up. “I just... wanted to see if you were okay.” “I'm okay,” she smiled fakely. “You can leave now. Lock the door on your way out,” She called out, walking away from him. Spencer had enough. This was unnecessary. “I'm worried about you, Treasure.” She turned around, crossing her arms over ever chest. “My name is Bailey. Why are you still here? What do you want?” She just wanted to get to the crux of the matter. He must want something. No other reason him to be here. “I always call you Treasure,” “And I said my name is Bailey. What do you want?” “I want you to talk to me!” he blurted. “You avoid me. You won't even come out of your apartment. For anything. You dodge my calls and texts an—” She wasn't listening. She stared at him with blank everything you're saying is complete and utter bullshit look He meant it though. He didn't understand why she hated him. He told her he wasn't ready for a relationship. He made sure not to say anything that might hurt, because that's not what he wanted. But that's what happened anyway. “Are you done?” Mutely, he nodded. “Then please leave.” He did what she asked.
