Tricia’s POV
After the meeting with the pack I need to know how the pack has functioned since I’ve been gone. So I go to my office and start going through my paper work and it is clear to me that Justin had some help and I think I know from who, I just want to wait and see if Justin is going to tell me or not.
“I want to let you know that I did have a small amount of help. I asked Beta Taylor to help me since he knows how you wish for your pack to be run and I actually learned a lot from him.” Justin told me just as the other people that were requested to be here walked in.
And it was in that moment that I know that if I can count on him to put both packs before his own needs then I know that I can trust him enough to take over as Alpha and me take my rightful place as Luna.
“I am so glad that I didn’t have to ask about that. And that is part of the reason I have called you all here. I need status reports on EVERYTHING that has happened since I was attacked.” I said while moving to my mates side and making him sit in my chair so I could sit on his lap.
Stacy seems to calm a bit when I do this and it calms me as well. We both have missed them terribly. I still haven’t processed that it’s been two weeks since the attack but I am almost completely healed. That’s something that I need to ask Ashley about when she gets here.
“Alpha Richardson has actually handled everything wonderfully. He has made sure that both packs have been safe along with handling grievances amongst the packs.” One of my patrol people told me.
“Yes Alpha, I have to agree. Your father would have been proud to see this.” Taylor told me.
“Alright then I guess that settles it then. You are all dismissed except for the Beta’s and Gamma’s.” I told them. “Now, we need to set up a pack meeting for a few days away because I want to see how the packs feel knowing that I’m part witch. However since you two are not part of my pack I want to know what your thoughts are on all of this.” I said.
“Alpha, your guest is coming through the first gate as we speak.” I hear through the mind link.
“Okay thank you,” I sent back “She’s here so we will continue this after we get this settled.” I told the men standing in my office.
Once every one had left I went and found Silvia and told her to make a pot of coffee and some tea, along with making sure that we had cookies for our guest.
Walking to the front door and going outside I am met with a pitch black SUV. The driver door pops open and I almost faint. The woman that I am met with is the spitting image of my mother and I don’t quite understand how that’s possible. As far as I knew my mother was an only child, but now I find that it isn’t true. Not only does my mother have one sister, it appears as though she also has a twin. Sensing my distress Justin came to my side and wrapped his arm around my waist but I can’t seem to find my voice.
“Hello Tricia, I know that I was not what you were expecting me to look like. The only explanation I can give you is that your mother was my twin. I am so sorry that I didn’t come when they passed, but I made a promise to your mother that I wouldn’t reveal who you truly were until you came seeking me out. Why don’t we go inside to talk.” She said.
All I could do is nod my head in response. There is so much that is swimming around in my mind and I am trying really hard to not faint.
“Okay am I the only one that didn’t know my mother had not one but two sisters?” I asked to everyone that was in the living room with me.
“Other than everyone that either didn’t pay much attention or that wasn’t born yet, yes you’re the only one Alpha.” Taylor told me.
I am so angry that nobody told me, but in the same breath I can’t be mad at anyone as they all were doing as my parents had asked them to. I walk out of the living room and make my way to the back door. I know I’m not the only one that walked out here because I can feel Justin’s presence behind me.
“How is this even possible. I know my parents are gone but looking at Ashley I can’t help but feel like my mom is back from the dead. I don’t even know how I am supposed to process this.” I tell him while sitting down because I’m still panicking, and I feel like I’m having an anxiety attack.
“Alright, how about this, why don’t you take a second to compose yourself and I will have Silvia serve the cookies and coffee and stuff. Just come in when your ready.” Justin said.
“Thank you, I am so sorry this wasn’t supposed to happen. I do appreciate you taking care of that. I’ll be there in a minute.” I told him. I really am grateful that I have him here with me, helping me through all of this.
He went inside and all I can do is think of the reasons as to why my mom didn’t tell me. I know that she would have told me eventually, but I can’t fathom why she hadn’t told me. I guess the only way for me to figure it out is to go inside and ask. That’s all I really can do.
As I make my way through the house I can hear laughter coming from the living room.
“I’m sorry about that, I just don’t understand why my parents didn’t tell me about any of this. I hope you can forgive me.” I said to Ashley.
“Of course sweet heart. Now why don’t we sit down and talk. I’m sure you have questions.” She replied.
“Yes, I do. Do you have any clue as to why my mother hid all of this from me?” I asked
“She was trying to protect you. Kathrine is of the same mother but not the same father. She was always really jealous of me and your mother. We both became top of our coven at a very young age, and she didn’t like how the coven basically worshipped us and she wanted to be able to be as good if not better than we ever were. There was one night, at your crissioning, Kathrine tried to murder you and your mother. You were only a few weeks old. That’s when we found out that Kathrine had been messing with black magic.” Ashley said.
“Okay, so what happened exactly?” I asked.
“She found her destined, it’s what you all refer to as your mates, and he was a Warlock. Warlock’s specialize in dark magic so when she found him, he turned her into a dark witch. Once that happened, she had been banished from the coven. Your mother and I weren’t told why until that night. She came in undetected and just as they were about to say our coven’s prayer they both appeared behind two of our coven elders and slottered them in front of everyone.” She said with tears in her eyes.
“After that they went after your parents and your dad ripped the head off of her destined’s shoulders. Me and your mother tried to take Kathrine out with us being the strongest of our coven but all we managed to do was hurt her enough to cause her to retreat. Afterwards your parents made the coven swear they wouldn’t contact them until you came of age, and that doesn’t happen until your 21. About a month before your parents were killed they started receiving letters from Kathrine and that’s when your mother contacted me and let me know what was going on. She didn’t want anyone from the coven coming to her funeral or even to the pack lands until you contacted us yourself. The one thing that your parents didn’t count on was that she would be working with rouges.” She finished.
“Okay, since she attacked me, I have been feeling a massive amount of power. My wolf Stacy has felt the same thing. Also, it’s like I have a healing ability that far exceeds that of a normal Alpha wolf.” I told her.
“Do you know any logical witch explanation as to why this is happening?” I asked.
“Yes, it seems that whatever the knife was spelled with triggered your powers to come in early.” She informed me. “As for the extra healing ability, it is apparent to me that you are quite the strong healer yourself. Just like she was. That leads me to wonder if your powers are going to exceed hers or not.” Said Ashley.
