Chapter 19: Betrayal

1131 Words
Tricia’s POV   My vision was very clear and that’s why I didn’t offer for Justin to join me in the shower this morning. I know now that I can’t trust Jeremiah and if we don’t get in gear with getting me to take my rightful place as queen then we will all fall at the hands of this man and his mate. They aren’t who they say they are, and I will be their end.   “Okay, I have the meeting with the wolf council set for this morning. However, we need to leave right now.” Taylor said.   “The meeting with the witch’s council will be this afternoon and then afterwards we can get one set up for both councils.” Ashley said.   “Great, we can get lunch on the road.” I said to them before standing to leave the office.    We all loaded up in Justin’s Denali and headed out to a small region outside of Joplin, Missouri for the meeting. We should be there in a few hours, so I took the time to gather my thoughts and come up with a speech for the counsel. By the time I’m done we are pulling into the parking lot.   “Are you sure your ready to do this?” Justin asked with a concerned look.   "Yeah I'm sure." I said swallowing my pride and exiting the car.   The building that we are going into looks like a court house. When we walked in we are met with the receptionist.   "We are here for a meeting with the counsel. I am Luna Tricia Smith and this is my mate, Alpha Justin Robertson and my aunt, Ashley Smith." I told her.   She instantly picked up the phone and received confirmation that we were in fact supposed to be there. After getting the confirmation she led us down a corridor that came to a dead end. She opened the door to a room with all the council leaders.   “That will be all Shelly, thank you.” Councilman Jonas said. He has the appearance of a man in his mid to late 40s.   “Young Alpha what did you call a meeting for?” councilwoman Delgado asked.   “We need to talk about the prophecy. The one where I am supposed to be the leader of both the werewolf race and the witch race.” I said confidently.   “And what would lead you to come to the conclusion that you were the one that supposed to be leading us? What would lead you to believe that you are the one the prophecy speaks of?” asked Councilwoman Athena.   “As you know, I am the only child that has ever been born from the mating of a witch and werewolf. I have already mastered my 8 powers and could be expecting more in the future. According to the prophecy. I have seen it. I have seen that I am supposed to lead us into a new era. If you will allow me to do it I can and will show you.” I said with confidence that even I didn’t know I had.   “Please, show us if you can.” Councilman Jonas said with a scowl on his face.   I projected my visions of the war and what happens after if they can come to an agreement and the outcome if they cannot.   “Alright we will give you the chance to take your place. However, if you don’t prove yourself then we will have no choice but to take the thrown from you.” Councilwoman Athena said with a smile on their face after deliberation.   “Thank you councilwoman.” I said “You won’t regret this.”   We left there and I held my head high walking out proud.   “Where to now Ashley?” I asked while we were all getting into the car.   “Oklahoma City.” She said. “Well the outskirts.”   We set out to the Witch Council and stopped by a burger joint to grab some lunch since it was only 11:45. I ordered 6 burgers and 6 fries that way we all had enough to eat. After eating we were back on the road and I decided to take a short nap until we get there.   "Love, its time to wake up we are here." Justin said as he shook me awake.   We walked inside and Ashley repeated the same thing I had said back at the Wolf council that way we could get in.   We were led through endless hallways until we came uppon a door that looked as old as I have heard that some Witches are.   "What has brought you all here today?" A woman asked. She looks to be about mid 50s and is absolutely stunning. I thought that wolves were beautiful but this woman has us all beat.   "Amaria, do you remember the prophocy that the elders of my coven had uncovered?" Ashley asked the woman I now know to be Amaria.   "The one involving the joining of the werewolves and witches?" She asked.   "Yes, that's the one. Well I am here to inform you of the truth that is associated with that particular prophecy. You see, my Niece, Tricia Smith is the daughter of my twin sister and her mate, Alpha Smith. She was born before they had completed the Mating ceremony of the witches and werewolves, making her half witch half werewolf. She has had visions of a war and needs to be able to claim her birth right of being the queen of both species." Ashley explained as the whole Witch Council stared at me with judgemental looks.   "I see, well if this woman can provide proof that she is the queen from the prophecy then we have no choice but to accept." Amaria said.   I projected my visions just as I had with the Wolf Council. There were murmurs heard throughout the whole room.   "Well, it seems that we are in the presence of a queen." A man with salt and pepper hair said. He looks to be in his late 60s early 70s. "The seat right here behind me is reserved for the Queen and only she can sit there without pain. If you would like you can now take the thrown." He said as everyone stood up and moved around so that way i may take my place.   I walked up the steps and took my seat and sat there looking around the room at all the faces. The look of pride on my mates face is one that I will cherish forever.
