Chapter 18: Surprises

Justin’s POV

  “What do you mean she’s unlocked her full potential?” I asked the confusion clear on my face.

  “Exactly what I said. She is a special girl. I haven’t ever seen anyone master 5 powers in one go and I have seen a lot in my day.” Ashley said as she bent down to her niece to inspect her and just then we all heard the electricity coursing through her.

  After I watched the rouge be ripped apart, Tricia collapsed and is just laying there because I knew she wouldn’t appreciate accidentally hurting me. I don’t want her to feel guilty for something that she couldn’t control.

  “When will she be awake?” I asked.

  “I’m not sure but I need to get her to the clearing because you can’t take her to her room until I get the flames put out. Her body is looking for a water source like it did before when she first encountered her elemental powers.” Ashley said with Colton nodding his head in agreement.

  “Okay then lets get her moved to the clearing.” I said while walking to the door.

  They used some sort of levitation power to move her and we drew a lot of attention even though we took the most secluded route back to the clearing. Once we got there, they took the water and slowly surrounded Tricia with it. As soon as her flames were gone, I picked her up and went straight to our room in the pack house that way she can rest up again.

  “I want everyone to be on high alert this is a code RED and it is not a drill. There has been another attack on our pack, on your Luna and we must get to the bottom of this now.” I growled through the mind link before going to our office.

  I get to our office and Silvia already has dinner set in there for me. I guess she is used to Tricia and I eating in there. I feel bad that I couldn’t anticipate this. My parents raised me to anticipate what my enemy was going to do before they did it, but with Kathrine I can’t seem to figure out her next move.

  I was going to call for Allen and Taylor but they already came through the door before I could open the link.

  “Alpha, we have news on possible whereabouts of the witch. I think we should wait until the Luna wakes and call a meeting with her and Ashley.” Allen said.

  “That sounds like a great idea.” I said and was about to dismiss them until Taylor handed me a folded up sheet of paper.

  Alpha, what kind of alpha lets his Luna be put in the path of danger? What kind of Alpha allows his enemy’s in and lets them be aware of the weaknesses he possesses? That’s right Alpha Richardson I have eyes everywhere and I know that you would do anything, even give up your pack if that meant saving your precious mate. I’ll be watching you and waiting, I think we will be meeting sooner than any of you expected. Until them you spineless Alpha.

  I let out a frustrated growl and threw the paper down.

  “I want eyes on everyone that has been in contact with us and could possibly know about Tricia being part witch. We have a mole somewhere either within the pack or its one of those Alpha’s that have been here and taken any of the members from the Shadow pack. Nobody gets in or out without my knowledge. Even if someone takes a dump on our boarder I want to know about it.” I told them both and dismissed them before taking my food up to our room so that way I can be with my mate when she wakes up.

  I ate my dinner and grabbed a book to sit beside our bed to read until she wakes up.

  I’m not sure how long I had been asleep before I felt someone shake me awake. I open my eyes and are met with the beautiful ones of my mate.

  “I’m glad your awake.” I said before pressing a kiss to her forehead.

  “Me too, how long have I been out for?” She asked.

  I looked at the clock on the bedside table and it showed that she’s been unconscious for about 17 hours.

  “It’s already 7am my love.” I told her and she got up and popped all of her joints in a way I find strangely attractive.

  She didn’t say anything else and just got up and went to the bathroom. I figured she needed some space, so I went downstairs and waited for her in our office when I heard the shower turn on.

  Ashley walked into the office after Silvia brought our breakfast.

  “What can I do for you Ashley?” I asked her with a puzzled look on my face since she hadn’t been told about the meeting.

  “I saw that we were having a meeting after my niece woke up and something tells me that she is awake and doing well this morning.” She said like it was no problem that she just waltzed into mine and my mates office.

  “Oh okay. Yes, she is doing well.” I said just before Tricia walked in and took her place on my lap.

  “So, before we have this meeting I wanna make sure that everyone is 100% caught up to speed.” My mate said.

  Oh boy, something doesn’t sit right with me on this.

  “There is a war coming and we all need to be prepared. Not just any battle, this is going to be a lot more tragic than anything we have encountered.” She said

  “Wait, I want you both to read this before anything else comes out into the open.” I said while handing the note to Ashley.

  After Ashley had finished reading it and handed it to my mate I could feel the anger coming off of her in waves. It’s been that way since we have completed the mate bond.

  “We need to gather the wolf and witch councils so I may take my position as queen and this needs to happen before we get the traitorous bastard.” Tricia said.

  “Okay, I will get right on that.” I said before picking up the phone and making calls.

  “The only one I don’t want to inform of this news is Jeremiah. He is the reason that Kathrine has all of the information that she does have on us at the moment. I will make sure that he suffers before he dies by betraying me and dishonoring my father.” She said with a growl that vibrated the whole building.

  I was in shock after hearing this but quickly recovered when my pen rolled off of my desk and hit my foot. Instantly I was rubbing calming circles on my mates back and decided that Taylor should make the calls because he can talk them all into this without letting anything slip whereas if I do it in my state I will sell him and my mate out and I don’t want that to happen.

  This is going to be one hell of a long day.
