Chapter 17: Wind and Earth

Tricia’s POV

  There’s about a month left until the battle and I have gotten yet another power. The power to control electricity or Electrokinesis. Its basically just an extension of my Elemental powers. I have still to master Air and Earth elements, but I am grasping the hang of it. I can take the oxygen out of someone’s lungs and leave them gasping for about 5 seconds, but as I get stronger and really focus on what I’m doing I can hold it for a few seconds longer. It’s taking longer than anticipated since I got water and fire down pretty well.

  I am now sitting in the middle of the clearing with Colton and Ashley and I’m trying to hold out my air powers as much as possible. I have successfully formed a ball of air and have been holing it for about 2 minutes although it feels a lot longer than that.

  “Great job Tricia, I am so proud of you.” Ashley said when the timer went off telling me it had in fact been 5 minutes.

  “Thanks.” I said taking in a much-needed breath.

  “I can’t believe it. I think for sure you will have this one under control within the next few days if not tomorrow.” Colton told me as he was handing me my water bottle.

  “Alpha there’s been a perimeter breach.” Justin was told by a very anxious wolf through the mind-link.

  “Everyone into positions now! Get all women and children in the bunkers and everyone that isn’t well enough to fight. Everyone else meet me in front of the pack house. Move NOW!” He growled through the mind link.

  “There’s been a perimeter breach, do y’all think you can handle yourselves out there?” Justin questioned through our mate link.

  “Yes, we should be fine. Take care of yourself and let me know if I am needed.” I replied then closed the link, “Perimeter breach, do y’all sense any magic?” I asked them.

  “Not at the moment. We can handle ourselves I just don’t want you to be vulnerable.” Ashley said with concern lacing her voice and across her features.

  “I will be fine, you don’t have to worry about me.” I told her instantly.

  “Okay well let’s get back to your training. I want you to focus everything and try to push that boulder.” Colton said.

  Just as the boulder was starting to move a rouge jumped out from behind it. It has brown fur and unlike most rouges this one has jet black eyes. Most rouges have blood red eyes but not this one, there’s something different about him. He stands about as high as Taylor does so I’m assuming that he used to be a beta of a pack.

  I shift before Ashley and Colton even have a chance to react to it.

  I growl fiercely. He growls back and rushes to attack me. I side-step him and I notice that Ashley and Colton have climbed a tree. He charged me once again and I feel the same rush of power that I feel every time I use my flame power and the next thing I know I am surrounded in flames. The rouge looks shocked and is tackled by Justin’s wolf. How he knew there was one here I’m not sure. He easily snaps the rouges neck and looks at me with a shocked yet pained look, so I quickly put out my flames and walk over to him and nuzzle his neck.

  “I’m okay. I told you I could handle it.” I told him. I love how protective he is of me.

  “I know but when I felt the power surge, I knew something was wrong so I got here as fast as I could. It would have been worse had that mutt hurt you.” He says with a slight growl.

  “I think that it was a new breed of rouge. I know you weren’t paying attention, but it had jet black eyes.” I told him.

  “What? I’ve never heard anything like that.” He replied just as shocked as I was.

  “Well that was certainly something.” Colton said while Ashley just nodded her head in agreement.

  I went behind a tree and shifted back to my human form and put on some new clothes that I have stashed here. I also grabbed some shorts for Justin.

  “We need one of them alive.” I told him in a serious tone to let him know I wasn’t joking.

  “Listen up, did anybody capture any of the rouges that came onto our territory?” Justin asked through the pack link.

  “Yes Alpha. We put him in one of the interrogation cells.” One of the patrol guys said.

  “Okay, the Luna and I are on our way.” Justin said before cutting of the link.

  “Looks like we will have to pick back up tomorrow although I am very surprised that you were able to use your powers in your wolf form.” Colton said.

  “Well she is both dumb ass.” Ashley said with annoyed smirk on her face.

  I just laughed and said “I’ll see you both tomorrow yes?”

  “Sure sweetheart. See you tomorrow.” Ashley replied and gave me a quick hug. Sometimes I have to remind myself that although she looks like my mom that she isn’t.

  Thinking about my mom makes me often wonder if this is something that she had in mind for me. Is this the future that both of my parents saw. That’s all it’s ever going to be, just a curious thought.

  By the time we get to the cells my mind is going in several different directions.

  “Alpha, Luna.” Triston the guard said as he opened the door to the hall we needed to go through to get to the right cell.

  We walk in and I am met with the sound of someone cursing and chains being pulled. The smell in here is that of a rouge and I think it’s a safe bet to say that it’s the one that was caught.

  The walls are nothing but pure silver and so are the doors. Luckily for Justin and I, we don’t have to worry about that. I put my hand out waiting for the keys and then unlocked the door after I got them.

  “Amazing, your just as beautiful as she said you would be.” The rouge said. He had dirty blonde almost brown hair and jet-black eyes. I looked over at Justin who seems to notice that same thing.

  “Who are you referring to?” I asked. When I looked back I notice he has a bad scar running from his right eye going to the left side of his chin.

  “Why Kathrine, of course.” He said with an evil smirk.

  “What else did she say? Why did she send you?” Justin asked trying to hold back a growl and I know that had I not come he would have killed this rouge the second he said anything about me.

  “Kathrine knows about the girl being an elemental. She wanted us to capture her but didn’t tell us why. She said that we might as well tell you everything we know because she knew you wouldn’t keep us alive for long.” He told us.

  “Well then she doesn’t know me very well.” I said with a smirk of my own.

  “I have something that you can do with that mouth of yours instead of running it.” He said with a smirk.

  Before Justin has a second to process what he said I have him picked up by the throat and growl in his face.

  “You may want to chose your next words wisely mutt.” I said with my wolf begging to come forth and rip his head off.

  He lets out a laugh that gave me a chill to my bones and not in a good way either.

  I get so angry at this that the whole building shakes and my hand is instantly in flames along with the air leaving his lungs and the water retreating from his body. All I can see is red, all I hear is his screams that fill me with more power than I know what to do with.

  When my vision clears, he’s a corpse and I am praying that whatever she did to them to change the red to black in their eye color.

  “What was that?” Justin asked.

  “She unlocked her full potential.” Ashley said with a proud smile.
