"yes I did" Ayomide reply looking elsewhere

"but from who" morenike eyes questioned her as Ayomide replied "Kemi" morenike was about to scream in shock but Ayomide covered her mouth with her Palm

"don't Shout" she said looking into her balled eyes just advice me should I give the book back to akande or........"

morenike cut her short "off cause you should"she gulped her saliva then continued "if we want to avoid problems"

"then that means the there will be no freedom from poverty,no going to school and other things"

"that is just it Ayomide,listen to me and return the book"

"fine" Ayomide smiled at her " I will give it to Akande"

main while tayo Shoremi olu and oba who tried to outsmart the tall muscular man at kemi's shop but unfortunately tayo got shot on his leg while the others managed to escape.

tayo was taken to kemi who looked at him with disgust

"who are you ?"he asked strictly

tayo smiled " I won't tell you.... not even if you kill me"he said looking brave when the young boy who stopped Ayomide when she took the book spoke

"wait a minute....I saw him earlier with a young girl"he said looking at Tayo

"yes there were four of them with a young girl"the tall muscular man testified

"where did you see the girl kayode" kemi asked the boy

"I saw her walking down the stairs and when I asked her ,she said she was looking for the bathroom......"kayode kept mute till he recalled seeing her with a book " and yes ..she was holding a book'

"a book?" kemi asked looking a little angry "how was the book?"

"quite old" kayode said demonstrating with his hands asif he was looking at the book

kemi dashed into his room and checked under his bed but his ancient book wasn't there "oh my God"he grunts in anger as he walked down the stairs

" beat the hell out of that i***t and make sure he confesses who that thief is and where she lives" he gave the order and dashed into his room again

suddenly kayode remembered the name tayo called the girl "Ayomide"he called out "yes... Ayomide is her name"

his friend who was standing next to him was shocked at the mentioning of the name but didn't react.

two hundred years back

after the queen delivered a baby boy who was named Segun a young lady walked into the palace she looked exactly like morenike of the present day as she walked to the king to deliver the message of the gods

"I am Abike.... priestess Abike....and I come to deliver the warnings of the gods"

"warnings...of the gods"the king smiled mischievously "am all ears"

"princess Eniola's rage will overcome your empire "she said with a smile on her face

"so rude of you to say that to a kind like me.....I am blessed so far....I have a son Segun..and no one can come in between my destiny"

"you may be right... but the gods has sent me to tell you to sacrifice your son to the goddess of the sea to please the soul of the princess... Eniola'

" nonsense..."he roard " I sacrificed my daughter to have a son..and you are here telling me nonsense"

he turned his face away and ordered the guard to send the priestess out of his palace and kingdom for good

Abike laughed as she walked out if the palace and this annoyed the king more as he called to his soldiers

"a sacrifice to please Eniola ...... fine then I shall sacrifice that i***t to the sea" he laughed heartily as he gave the order " kill that priestess and make sure her blood flows down the sea "

the soldiers quickly followed the priestess who wasn't aware as she set her canoe to set sail but was surrounded by the soldiers and was stabbed countless times and her blood was made to glow down the sea as the king had ordered but at that moment dark cumulus evolved the skies and the sea gave off dangerous waves with thunder storm accompanied by lightning.

and for days ogun kingdom was in pure darkness

"I think the gods are angry at us ..... strange things keeps happening.. people are dying,the weather is so cold and we are in darkness.....don't you think it's necessary we call the traditional seer?"

chief Olajuwon said with fear looking at the other chief

"yes ..I think that is what we should do my king"said chief ade as they all stared at the king who was playing with a dagger

"call on the seer "he ordered and after six hours the old seer walked into the palace

"seems my king is in need of help again"

"give your suggestion and get out of my palace"the king said rudely

"about the darkness it shall clear with time but....the gods are mad at us.... because a great priestess was killed....a priestess was killed right in front of the sea goddess"

"are you referring to that i***t by name Abike?"

"you call her an i***t but you are unaware of the fate out his kingdom..... priestess Abike is like the air... without it non will survive.you may think she is dead but she will be reborn no matter how many times she dies"

"enough of the nonsense...tell us the cure to the situation of this kingdom's grief"

" a girl is the cure.. only she gets to decide the fate of ogun kingdom but....she is dead... princess Eniola is dead" he laughed

"so does that mean that there is no cure?" asked one of the chiefs

"she is dead to us but Alice in the spirit wold"he laughed again and walked out of the palace

everyone was puzzled by the seer's words as they pray that the darkness fade away in no time. they carried out purification rituals and gradually the sun appears in the sky giving out warmth to the kingdom again.
