Bella POV
Alex and I fight - not as one, at least not initially. But as the shadow becomes stronger, we begin to move in a more synchronised way. I feel his wolf, and I know he feels mine.
Then something changes in Alex. It is a power that comes so unexpectedly. At the same time, it feels familiar.
We don’t need to speak much- I know what he will do next, and he knows my next move, too.
The shadow attacks, and Alex blocks the hit, as I move swiftly and manage to get to the dark shape. Then suddenly the shadow starts shrinking until it vanishes in thin air- as quickly as it appeared.
Alex and I are panting heavily, standing opposite each other. He smiles, and I can't help but smile back at him.
