"I have an Omega mate? The Moon Goddess must be kidding!"

"My son is the next Alpha; his mate should have been an Alpha-ranking girl."

"Your daughter is worthless to our Pack; we need a son, a true heir."

Yes, I am an Omega. In the Bloodflame pack, I have never been cherished since my mom left. Naive, innocent, or silly, you can get any similar word to describe it, but seven years ago, I did have the dumb faith that everything would move forward eventually after Caleb, the future Alpha, found out that I was his mate.

But my fate changed completely when he brought an Alpha-ranking woman with him. My mate wanted a new Luna, and my son wanted her to be his Mom.

Chapter One
Bella's POV "I have an Omega mate? The Moon Goddess must be kidding!" “My son is the next Alpha; his mate should have been an Alpha-ranking girl.“ "Your daughter is worthless to our Pack; we need a son, a true heir." Yes, I am an Omega. In the Bloodflame pack, I have never been cherished since my mom left. Naive, innocent, or silly, you can get any similar word to describe it, but seven years ago, I did have the dumb faith that everything would move forward eventually after Caleb, the future Alpha, found out that I was his mate. I have always loved him - ever since I saw him for the first time, all those years ago. We were still kids - I must have been ten and he was twelve. But he never spent time with me and had no reason to. And yet, my heart belonged to him. Caleb was every girl’s dream - regardless of her rank or status, he was the object of all the girls’ hopes and fascination. He was strong and handsome; his family was powerful and rich. The Alphas of the Bloodflame pack come from one of the oldest families in the kingdom. They are said to be direct descendants of the Moon Goddess. Other legends say they are born out of fire. They are destined to rule the lands in the north. And the next Alpha will be Caleb- everyone knows it will be him. Being the Alpha is his destiny. The title is not only about inheritance, and each successor has to go through the Alpha Trial, but his family has been the ruling one for decades. No one remembers the last time it wasn’t them ahead of the clan. I never thought I would even speak to him for more than ten minutes. Once I turned eighteen, however, we discovered I was his mate. Even though I was not the kind of mate he expected, we used to have a sweet time and married shortly after - Caleb needed to secure an heir. And I think this is when my nightmares began. As soon as I got pregnant, everyone hoped the child would be a boy. Especially me. Because a girl would mean I have failed as a future Luna. Olivia, the Luna, my mother-in-law, has only sons. A true Luna gives birth to strong, healthy boys. A daughter is a synonym of shame. The Bloodflame pack believes that if a woman gives birth only to girls, she is incapable of being a true Luna. A mother of daughters cannot be a worthy mate to the Alpha. It means that wolves like me are unnecessary if they don’t have boys. They are a disgrace - I wouldn't have remained in the family unless I gave birth to a male heir. Shortly after I gave birth to my sweet little girl, Violet, I was forced to conceive again. And this time, the goodness whoever was watching over me- had heard my prayer. Nicholas was a healthy, strong boy. I thought this would win their favour. But I was so, so wrong… “What do you even think you are doing?!” Olivia's voice echoes loudly in my head. I can sense her wolf - she is ready for a fight. I take a steady breath and prepare for yet another scandal. A scandal is inevitable with Olivia. Her frustration and dislike for me are so strong that they fill the air; I sense it long before she has even approached the room. My hands have stilled for a brief moment, and my daughter turns to look at me. “Mom?” Violet asks, puzzled, her dark eyes searching my face. The maid gives me a concerned look as I resume braiding my daughter’s long black hair- it’s the same colour as mine. Violet is seven, but with each passing day, I feel like she begins to look more and more like me. “She is here”, my wolf reminds me and a few seconds later Olivia is standing at the doorway, her eyes flashing ominously in the golden colour of her wolf. “What in the name of the moon goddess is this horrible rag?!” Olivia’s voice echoes throughout the room, she is glaring at the pink dress Violet is wearing. The maid takes a retreating step, shrinking into the corner of the room. My daughter comes closer to me, hiding. “Out of here,” Olivia snarls at the servant and the maid’s wolf instantly follows the order. Olivia hates my maid - she is the only one who doesn’t spy for my mother-in-law. It’s only a matter of time before Olivia rips the innocent girl to pieces and places one of her puppets to report every move I make to her. “I thought I could…” I begin but Olivia is already walking towards me. “You can’t even think!” She snarls and grabs the comb from my hand. Its teeth scratch my skin and blood starts dripping down my palm. Copper is poisonous to the wolves from our pack and the pain is mind-numbing. I clench my teeth and try to silence my wolf, the pain from the scratch growing. My wolf is trying to speak to me but I can’t deal with her now. “Come, “ Olivia’s hand closes around Violet’s shoulder tightly, dragging my girl out. “We don’t have any more time to waste, you have to be ready. "My mother-in-law instructs me coldly. “The Alpha ceremony is tomorrow and we have so much to prepare. And you are just standing here, doing whatever you want!” I follow Olivia out without arguing, my hand pulsing with pain. Violet glances at me and I try to give her a reassuring smile that everything will be fine. Violet follows Olivia obediently and we walk towards one of the main rooms when my wolf wakes up again. “What now?” I ask my wolf annoyed but this time her voice is so loud I can’t shut it off. “Caleb, he is here… our mate. He's back. Finally!” My husband left two weeks ago - he had matters to deal with in the north. This time he took our son with him. As we are walking down the corridor the song of my wolf grows louder and only a few seconds later we make a turn and I see them in the distance. My husband Caleb and my son, Nicholas! My heart speeds up at the sight of them. But they are not alone. A petite woman with long, wavy hair is holding Nicholas’ hand. My wolf instantly jumps at the sight of them, and she starts clawing at me, the pain from her trying to get out is stronger than the sizzling feeling of my burning palm. The woman places her hand on Nicholas’ head, possesively. What's going on here? What is this woman?! Nicholas is looking at her as if I am not even there! “You are such a sweet boy!“ She tells him says and Nicholas clasps his hands. “Yes!” my son exclaims. “And I am not an Omega! Omega is weak!” What?! Who put those words in his mouth?! He’s never said anything like this before! My heart is starting to beat like mad. No. He couldn’t have said that, no…Then Nicholas’ bright blue eyes fixed on the woman’s face and he smiled. “I want Emma to be my mommy! “
